Hi girls-

We received an invitation to a bridal shower in the mail yesterday. When I took a second look at it, I am a little confused as to whom is being invited.

The invitation reads:

Be our guest to honor
Jill and Jack
at a Bridal Shower Brunch

<<<Date and time>>>

<<<Location>>>
<<<RSVP information>>>

It's a regets only RSVP and I don't know the person who is the contact. Please don't say, "Just call." If I was going to do that, I wouldn't have posted! :rolleyes2 I'm trying to figure out from this group if you would read this as a co-ed bridal shower or is it the traditional shower and someone messed up the wording. I'm thinking if could be co-ed becuase it mentions where they are registered and Home Depot is included.... :confused3

Edit: Jack and Jill are not their real names. Oddly, it has her full Christian name (Jill Upthe Hill), but his is only his nickname and last name (like Dick instead of Robert).

jack & jill usually refers to a coed shower, when you call to rsvp just ask.

My best guess would be that it is co-ed. That seems to be a very popular trend and being they are registered at Home Depot....I'd say it is a safe bet, guys and girls. If you are still really unsure, do you know anyone else going you could call, someone you are close to that would know. Two heads are always better than one :) AND, if all else fails.....call. Yep, I said it, I am like you and it would make me uncomfortable but if you feel unsure, you can bet you are not the only one that will have a ??? By the way, is the invitation made out to you only? In that case, I think even if it is co-ed YOU are the only one invited. I do know that the two co-ed showers I was invited to included myself and fiancee. Best of luck and keep us posted.

Have a great day!!!

It's an RSVP with regrets only ;) ... lending itself to part of the problem.

I didn't think about the envelope until now. It's in the trash (which went out this morning!). I know it used his name but I don't remember if it was to Mr/Mrs ___ or just Mrs. ___.

The only time I have gotten a bridal shower invitation with the grooms name on it, it has been a co-ed shower. So I would assume that that's what this shower will be.

I would guess a co-ed shower as well. Even though the RSVP is for regrets only, I wouldn't think anyone would get too bent out of shape if you would call just to confirm that you would be there and that it is an invitation for both of you.

Unfortunately, I think the envelope was your clue...and now that is gone:) Know anyone else invited? Or do you know the bride and groom well enough to call them?
I wouldn't assume that it is co-ed. I made my honey come to every shower (I know I'm awful!) and we never invited any of the men to any of them.

My DH wouldn't go to a shower, co-ed or not, unless we were really, really good friends of the couple. IMO, if you do attend without your hubby, no one would think it was strange. What if he drove you to the shower and if you see that there are other couples there he could stay? :confused3

The played soccer together at the Academy, so the groom and my groom (haha!) are close.

I don't want to ask them becuase it doesn't say that they don't know, but nowhere does it say that it's a surprise. It's one of those things that you just don't have all the information you need. Argh!

I am fairly certain after thinking about the envelope (I have a 150% photographic memory) that it was to Mr. and Mrs. Us.

I think I am going to have to call this chick to get the full story.... and clue her in that she needs to give the rest of us the full scoop!

I agree that it is probably inviting both of you, but a quick phone call to the RSVP number would not hurt. I know it would save a possibly uncomfortable moment for you if you show up with your hubby and it is ladies only! :thumbsup2
