Strange question; tattoos

I have always liked tattoos, but am beyond straight and narrow so have never considered one. (Dh hates them, but would tolerate it if I really wanted it). In the last few years I have thought that getting a Mickey tattoo would be fun but I've been pregnant or nursing most of the last 7 years.
I am finally past the baby/nursing thing as dd3 is now 20m, and am getting back into shape. I just did my first triathlon, and am scheduled for my first half marathon at the Princess half in Feb. I got to thinking that if I ever ran a full marathon I would go ahead and get a tattoo to celebrate the achievement. Depending on how the next year goes, maybe the full during marathon weekend of '12. We'll have annual passes that don't expire until the end of Jan, so it would be a good time to go.

Anyone have any disney tattoos? Did you get them somewhere in Orlando, or at home?

I was thinking the traditional Mickey with my kids initials under it, with maybe a 26.2.

I would love pictures if you have any, and ideas for good locations to put it.

I have a traditional three-circle Mickey head on the outside of my thigh. It only shows when I am wearing shorts and sit down, otherwise my shorts just cover it. It has 26.2 (full marathon) in one ear and 13.1 (half marathon) in the other. I'll see if I can find a picture. I really like it.

My DH got a M-dot tattoo when he finished an Ironman. I've tried to talk him into giving that poor little guy some mouse ears but he won't.

I could have written this....I always looked down on tattoo's. About 3 months ago, I started wanting one. Not sure why...midlife crisis??? Anyway, I got a MS orange ribbon and in the opening are Mickey ears. It is on my right ankle, I love it!!!

It hurt! Did I say...it hurt??? I still love it. I would love to do a DVC one however; the pain is deterring me

Mine did not hurt too much, so don't let the pain scare you. One is on my wrist and can be covered by a watch, the others are on the inside of my ankles. My next one is going to be Disney related but I don't want to get it until I lose a few pounds!

Well, it's different for everyone, so to ignore the possibility is a mistake IMO. A friend of mine and I had the SAME tattoo done in the SAME spot by the same guy at almost the same time, and she said it felt like someone was scratching her, and she was hardly bothered by it, while I needed water and anti-fainting breaks every few minutes, and was in a cold sweat the whole time it hurt SO dang bad. She recently got it covered with a tat that went 2/3 up her lower leg, and again, said it felt like someone was scratching her. I'm quite sure that when I get mine covered it will NOT feel like that!

And I have to say that as a daughter, I feel REALLY weird about my dad having put my name on his arm. I kinda wish he'd asked for my permission, because it doesn't feel good to me.

So if you're doing it to be happy about a marathon, just focus on THAT. No need to put kids' initials or anything like that....

Thanks for the replies. I was kinda thinking somewhere on my ankle. I'm a professional and wear scrubs most of the time, so I don't want anything on my lower arms that can be seen while I work.

I'd love to see pictures or hear about more.

My tattoo has my kids names on it (they are adults) and they don't mind it.
I have Merryweather with pixiedust coming out of her wand...that's where the names are.
It is above my ankle.
I love it. It is posted on a few tattoo threads that have been started over the years.
