So this morning dd and I went to see if we could get on the new GOTG ride. Along with tons of other people, lol. We got rerouted to the toy story parking lot which wasn't a big deal. We opted to walk to the park as the shuttle line was huge.

When we got to security we got in what we thought was the shortest line. It turns out it really was the longest because the kid checking bags was making very strange comments as he went through the bags very thoroughly. I have no issue with going through the bags as he did it was his comments that bothered me.

Some examples I observed:

Checking someones wallet and saying out loud how much cash there was in there.

Commenting to a mom that she shouldn't have juice for her toddler and had brought way too much stuff for a day in the parks.

There were three very cute young ladies in front of dd and I -- they were probably in their early 20s --
he made a ton of innuendos to them - so much so my dd was very uncomfortable and gave me her bag to hold. The last poor girl had a toothbrush in her purse and he kept asking her if she is hoping to get lucky and get to stay the night in the hotel. She looked very uncomfortable.

My dd was able to walk right past.

As he looked through our bag he commented on the screen savers on our phones and then implied the children's' chew-able aspirin was probably have it checked out since it was in my daughters bag as you can't trust teens with anything these days and she's too old for chewables.

It was by far the oddest and most uncomfortable check I have ever had. Like I said I have no issue having my possessions checked but his comments were not needed for him to do his job.

Definitely send in a comment about this. We've never experienced anything like that from a security CM. If you didn't get his name, send in the date, time, a description, and which tent he was at, along with a detailed description of the kind of comments he was making. This is inappropriate behavior and should be reported to his supervisor.

Wow! The security officers barely look at my stuff. I carry a lot of meds and not once have they even looked at the bottles. They barely look in my purse. They gently poke around and that is it. They have not once looked at my phone or cover let alone screen saver. I am in the parks about once a week and go to both lots.

I have had some great interaction with security. They ask what park I am visiting or what my first ride will be. Usually my visit is too brief to have a conversation though.

I would definitely report it. I sure would!

Honestly as someone who works in security and has done bag check that's hideously inappropriate and needs to be dealt with ASAP. My personal experience is generally from the other side as a female guard I dealt with a lot of innuendo from patrons but unfortunately it was just something I needed to deal with. As a customer I'd be waking straight from bag check to guest services to report his behavior - comments I'd have to tolerate as a staff member are things no one should have to deal with but most especially as a guest heading into a Disney park it's completely out of line.

I would have switched lines when he made your daughter uncomfortable and asked the other guard if there was a supervisor. And if not, gone to the GS window outside the park right away.

Adding to the chorus that it needs to be reported! I'm just in shock for you!

I think the most any bag checker has said to me was about my gorilla pod (a tripod), making sure it wasn't an extendable selfie stick.

How/why was he removing and looking in things? Seriously--looking ion a wallet and seeing how much cash? Commenting on a medication?

More shocking, of course, is the inappropriate comments to those young ladies. I'm assuming other park-goers that went through his line probably reported his actions as well, but I would still call and add your witness to their information (or if you are still at the parks/resort area, head over and report it). As others have said, try to remember a the details you can so they are sure who it was.

I'm so sorry you, your daughter, and every other guest going through that line had to deal with that!

You did the right thing by reporting him. I probably would have also said something to him at the time. But, I am just like that.

Normally I would have too but I think at that point I just frustrated with the amount of time it had taken us to get to the parks.

I would have gone straight to city hall/guest services.

We stopped by but the line was so long and we only had a limited amount of time in the parks.

I am glad I am not the only one that found it odd. His co-worker on the line right next to ours seemed to have no issue with it but they were more focused on getting people through that line.

This is exactly the kind of interactions we normally have. We are down there twice a month or so.

Very bizarre and so different from the usual interactions. I even commented to my mom how "Disney" the security staff seemed. One day a young girl behind me asked her mom what they were looking for when they checked all of our bags... a potentially heavy question. The security guy paused a moment and then told the girl that he was checking for mousetraps because they weren't allowed in the park. I thought was very cute and a perfect response to a child.

I have heard that response too and Snow White has them checking for apples... in WDW
