Well, I tried to look this one up, with not much luck. However, if I reach waaaaay back into the recesses of my brain, I vaguely seem to recall that the patella (kneecap), being a sesamoid bone (a relatively small, roundish bone not part of the axial skeleton) is not ossified until later childhood. Maybe that's what they mean. Anyway, it sounds good, doesn't it?

You may find this interesting. My Mother had a theory that children who picked their nose and ate it had pin worms. I have no idea where she got that from. Is there a technical torm for it?
