With Disney's new transporationa from the airport and DVC members not being able to check in until 4 pm, how many folks will go straight from home to the Parks?? :rolleyes1

You can always check-in before 4pm...you just might have to wait for your room. We've only had 5 separate check-ins at DVC resorts, but every time we have gotten into the room before 4pm. Three times we were allowed into the room immediately after leaving the front desk (all three were before noon), while the other two times it was 2-3pm before we got into the room.

As far as going right to the parks, it probably depends on where the bus will drop arriving guests. I doubt the Mears bus will go right to the theme parks. You'll have to disembark at your resort and then decide where to go.

Having AP's, we always try to arrive the morning of check-in. If the room isn't ready then it is straight to the parks. :cool1:

We have AP's....always go to check in as soon as we arrive. Depending on whether there is a room ready, we unpack and go over to one of the parks.
If our room isn't ready, we've started taking advantage of checking our bags in with the bell service. Then we're off to the parks for sure.
If we still only had park hoppers (or the new equivalent ones) we'd probably hang out at the resort's restaurant, visit another resort for lunch/dinner, or go to Downtown Disney.
So many choices....not enough days going down to WDW!! :wave2:

We always check in whenever we get in too. Occationally we have gotten right into our room, but usually have to wait until 4. We usually head to a park and then come back to go to the grocery store when we get the room assignment.

We always try to check in, if we can't, we check our bags and head to the parks. If the room is ready we go up, unpack very quickly and THEN head to the parks. I can't imagine getting to your resort before 4 PM and NOT going to the parks! Even if you don't do rides you can walk around the Epcot countries, grab a frozen margarita in Mexico, and just soak up the great Fl weather! Or, go to a park and catch the afternoon parade.

what is a AP new to this site and the whole Disney thing did three trips Disney related

Many months ago (might even have been a year ago) we were invited to complete an on-line survey. In retrospect, the survey seems to have been part of the preparation for the new Express service as all of the questions were related to transport from the airport. If I remember correctly, one of the questions asked if we would be interested in being able to actually check into our resort (regardless of arrival time) right at the Disney airport welcome center. Luggage would be tagged and delivered to the resort while guests could go directly to the parks from the airport.

Unless I've misunderstood, it doesn't sound like this perk made it into the initial roll-out (please correct me if I'm mistaken). Did anyone else complete the same survey?

An AP is an annual pass - you can go into the parks on an unlimited basis for one calendar year. You also get a number of discounts with the pass.
Hope that answers your question :wizard:
