We are staying in Windsor Hills at Storytime Vacation rentals (storytime #1) in less than a month. There have not been any recent reviews that I can find on these homes and I am hoping someone could who has stayed there recently can let me know about their stay? Obviously we will not be changing our plans this close to our trip, but I'm just looking for info on a few things reguarding both story time and WH:

1. Driving to and from the parks - is there traffic issues? Is there a tip to avoid traffic?

2. Driving time - we are rope drop people - how much time to allow for each park

3. How was your experience?

4. What about amenities or a list of supplies (more comprehensive then on their website). Did they have something you were not expecting? Is there a waffle maker or slow cooker?

5. Any other advice that you can give us about our stay?

I have stayed at Storytime #4 and Storytime Castle. The location is great! Windsor Hills is literally right outside the gates to WDW. To answer your questions:

1) The traffic can be heavy during peak rush hour times, but the drive is really short. There is not really any way to avoid it as there is really only one direct route to the parks.
2) We are also RD people and for a 9am MK opening we typically leave the house around 7:30-7:45am. For the other parks, about an hour before opening is fine.
3) Great! We loved having the private pool and the theming of the bedrooms is really cute and adds a touch of Disney despite being offsite. We also enjoyed having a full kitchen for snacks, drinks, and quick breakfasts before hitting the parks.
4) It's been awhile so I can't recall specifically about a waffle maker or slow cooker. You could probably email the owners and get confirmation, they are great people and very responsive!
5) They just opened a brand new Walmart right down the street from WH, which is super convenient if you need to pick up groceries. There are also lots of great dining options on I4. WH also has lots of amenities -- community pool (they were building a new water park area, not sure if it's done yet?), playground, beach volleyball, movie theater, clubhouse w/ ping pong, etc.

Hope you have a great trip!

ENJDisney fan - thank you for your reply. I've been searching for recent reviews but I haven't found any.

Actually, there is another way to get to the parks. You turn left on 192 and then right on Sherberth. AK is about 5 minutes away. It will be a little longer to the other parks. You won't have too much trouble going to the parks. You literally turn left out of the resort, go down about a mile (there is a new walmart right there and we have not yet stayed since it was built) then turn right onto 192, and then turn right 1/2 mile further down for the Disney exit. You are on property in less than 10 minutes.

The issue is more coming home from Disney and followig the signs to 192. You have to get in the far left hand lane and only have about quarter mile to complete it. With the new walmart I imagine its even harder. I was there a couple of week ago at another resort further down 192 and I was thinking it would be nearly impossible to get over. Perhaps leave property by the AK entrance (429 toll entrance) and turn on Sherberth and then you have a light to turn left, and then right into the property. Or you could go down another straight to get into the left lane and cut through up behind another resort area (I don't remember the name).

Of course, if you are not familiar with the area this is probably all very confusing!

But we love Windsor Hills. We have a pool house we are staying at for the 2nd time in 3 years. With the cost we save by not staying on property (we are a family of 6) we are able to stay for 16 nights.

I'm also staying at Windsor Hills.
Two questions:
1. What are your favorite non-Disney/ non-national chain restaurants to eat that are near Windsor Hills?
2. We will be spending one day at US. What is the best route?

Hi we are staying at storytime 3 in September next year and I was wondering joyous found your time in storytime 1 ? Was it clean etc it says on the website recently refurbished is this true? All I want is a clean house and splash pool for the grandkids to enjoy but I can’t find recent reviews either so a bit worrying tbh.
Thanks in advance
Kim
