Storytellers - Is it REALLY better?

I keep reading posts here that say Storytellers has better food than Goofy's. But I've yet to see anyone say why. Is it because they have better offerings? Is it fresher? Is the buffet replenished quicker? Are the chef's better? What's the real scoop here.

Not comparing to Goofy, since I haven't been there in years, but I will say that the weekday breakfast/brunch at Storytellers is exceptionally blah.

Had it last week, did not have high expectations on the food, and was still pretty underwhelmed.

Unless someone is going primarily for the characters and they don't really care about the food, I'd suggest to anyone that they skip it.

Did you order anything from the server?

I've been to both. Goofys was pre pandemic. Storytellers was last July. Both at breakfast time.

My experience was that Goofys tries to make too many different items and everything was pretty average. Nothing stood out. Most of the food was cold, also. There were a LOT of desserts, and what felt like complete junk food type items (like donuts, cupcakes, dessert pizzas, etc). It was like a 5 year old came.up with the menu.

Storytellers food felt more high quality. It was all warm and fresh. It felt like homemade food, versus like Golden Corral quality (which is what Goofys felt like).

The server did not make anyone aware that it was possible other than ordering beverages.

I knew you could order omelettes, but there are no menus anywhere and they very much do not make any info easily available.
That’s too bad. The small plates I ordered from my server were the highlight! There was a sign on the table with a QR code for the menu. My kids also ordered freshly made chicken strips and French fries and they were in heaven. Then we also got filled beignets. Warm and amazing! I should point out this is only available at brunch, not breakfast.

I've been to both a couple times for breakfast, but unfortunately it was a long time ago (before COVID). Storytellers food was much better than Goofy's IMO, felt like the food was higher quality and they had things like the French toast which was good. Of course, ultimately this is a matter of opinion and maybe things have changed since then. They were buffets back then, not sure of they have changed.

Is this at BREAKFAST or brunch?

ETA: it's brunch

At breakfast the only served selections are yogurt parfait and oatmeal.

I switched our July 4 breakfast reservation to brunch instead! Thanks for making me aware of this! Since we are staying Club Level, we can grab a small breakfast in the morning and do a larger meal at brunch which will cover our lunch for that day so we can hang poolside and not need to eat.

Was it a weekday or weekend?

So wish I had known this! We did both on our Dec 2021 trip, and enjoyed both very much but this would have put it over the top! Truffle French Fries and Beignets Bites - yes please!

I just find the quality of food to be better at StoryTellers. Is it a LOT better? No, but there is a difference.

The character experience between the two is similar (except that Goofy's tends to be louder and more party atmosphere.)

If you want a more subdued, but still fun, character meal, with slightly better food, then go with Storyteller's. Otherwise, there is nothing wrong with Goofy's.

Brunch service begins at 11am. You might want to move your reservation time later if you want the brunch options.
So I see that brunch starts at 11 but the website says on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. However it will also let me make a reservation on a weekday. So which is it?

For me, part of it is how LOUD Goofy's gets. But the food is also better.

If you are going June-Aug, they could be extending Brunch to weekdays.
