Hi everyone,

I looked up the menus for Storyteller's, and it also mentions a dinner buffet with prime rib etc for 26.99 adults and 11.99 for kids. I haven't seen anyone ever mention it on the DIS - wondering if it's still around and if anyone has gone lately. Please share your opinions - I need to book a birthday dinner for DH on our trip next month.

Also - if I do have dinner at Storyteller's - I can order a special cake from Disney Dining, correct? We are not staying on site, but at HOJO's. If anyone has the number for ordering the cake I'd appreciate it too!

TIA :goodvibes

I honestly there was a dinner buffet at Storytellers, but people on this board say there is no character buffet for dinner, so maybe it is just a regular buffet. You can also order off the menu there too. I don'tknow about the cake, but I am sure one of our knowledgeable members here will know!

For dinner, you can order from the menu or enjoy the buffet at Storytellers. It is not a character buffet. The buffet is very good and does offer carved rib roast, pasta dishes, salad bar and delicious desserts.

And, yes you can order a cake from Vacation Planning. I did this last year for our anniversary. The cake was delicious. You may need to tell your server that you ordered it and when to deliver it however.

Thanks everyone for the quick replies. It's our first trip to DL (been to WDW though) and I want to make it special. I'm thinking of getting a Donald cake for DH's birthday - does anyone have the number for Vacation Planning?

Thanks DangerMouse for the mouseplanet thread.
I was so looking forward to go to the storyteller's buffer in sept. I think I'll skip it now.

Gosh... Me too! Im glad I know it has gone downhill so badly. We loved that place for the dinner buffet. :guilty:

I will be calling to cancel our September reservation for dinner there in the morning. We wanted the prime rib buffet.....Thanks for the tip.

I was there last weekend and noticed the menu change. Actually, I noticed that the menus looked and smelled new before I actually saw that the food items changed. But seriously, who would want to go to a nice restaurant for a burger?
I had the buffet like I normally do and LOVED it as usual. THERE WAS STILL PRIME RIB (for any of those who are freaked out) and they also had turkey. The corn chowder did seem different, but it was still good. I always like how the pasta and chicken dishes are always different and they're so yummy. Oh yes, and you can't forget the desserts! The ones I had that day consisted of a cheesecake and a chocolate mousse cake. There were other, but I didn't feel like trying them. Even with the new menu change, I'd say to STILL GO! At least for the buffet. :goodvibes

Thank you so much. I will not call to cancel. I was wondering the same thing about burgers on a buffet. I usually expect to get the higher dollar items such as Prime Rib, ham, turkey for that price as well. If they are known for their burgers on the regular menu, it is sad they have been removed. I know Cheesecake Factory has great burgers and they are not cheap.

Thanks everyone - I think I will go ahead and book it for DH's b-day. I think he will be very happy with a prime rib buffet and a special cake ordered for him!

Wow, I just looked at what the other ppl said on the other thread. Hmmm...so they recently went to Storyteller's, had the buffet, and didn't like it. So did I, but I still liked the buffet. I guess it's just a matter of opinion. Either that or bc I'm not picky on my Storyteller buffet bc I always think it's good. So if anyone decides to go to Storyteller's and get their buffet and hate it for some reason, plz don't blame me bc I love. And I'm actually picky when it comes to my food.

We just ate there on the 20th of July for my daughters 14th birthday and we all really enjoyed it! My husband even said he thought it was the best food we had all trip. I would highly recommend it. The staff was very nice too, they saw my daughters birthday pin and brought her a special dessert with a candle on it and sang to her--she really enjoyed that
