I was just wondering how breakfast is at Akershus. We've done dinner there the last 2 years, and thought we would change things up a little bit.

We were pleasantly surprised! Much better than expected. The food was great and the princess interaction was amazing.

We love breakfast at Akershus. We have done it on both of our trips with our two girls and they love it as well. The food is really good (hot plate of traditional breakfast food served family style plus a small buffet of cold meats & fruits and asst. pastries), especially the cheesy potatoes (my favorite).

I don't know if dinner is different, but you meet with Belle at the entrance and take photos with her. (Those are the photos included in the price of the meal.) On our trip in December 2009, the Princesses circulating the tables were Cinderella, Ariel, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. (2007 we had Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Jasmine and Mulan.)

FYI - I know you have been to Epcot in the past, but be sure to give yourself enough time to walk from your transportation area to the front gate (far left hand side where they will check your reservation) all the way back to the restaurant. It's a deceptively long way back to Akershus from the front gate. With kids it takes atleast 10-15 minutes. I usually send my DH ahead of us to check in. It's definitely a ressie we don't want to be late for.

I hope you give it a try. It is one of our favorite character breakfasts at WDW!

We've done dinner and breakfast there and enjoyed breakfast a lot more than the dinner.

Thanks! Now I'm really excited for our breakfast! Also, thanks for reminding me about the hike. We have been there, but my parents are coming this year for the first time, and my mother has had 2 knee replacements. We'll need some xtra xtra time to travel to Norway! Thank goodnessfor DH!!!!!

We loved it - of course my daughter's favorite princess is Belle so it was awesome to her to get that one on one time with her as you walk in. The food was really good and the rest of the princesses visited each table as you were eating. One of my favorite parts was walking thru at 8am when everyone else was hanging at the gates waiting to get in. It was like having the park to ourselves, which was so cool! LOL

We have done breakfast here twice, both times with our nieces. The character interaction was just amazing and the look on our youngest niece's face was just priceless.....the food was awesome too...nice and hot and plenty of it and they will make you pancakes if you ask.

Have not done this in a few years, we enjoy the breakfast very much, interaction with the Princesess was execellent. :thumbsup2

Glad to hear such positive reviews! This one is on our list for our September trip.

We have only gone to Akershus for breakfast and we absolutely love everything about it. The food is really, really good and the Princess interaction is awesome. We love the cold bar and the cheesy potatoes (always have to ask for seconds on these :goodvibes). I always make ADRs here well before the park opens so that once we are done, we can get some really great pictures of WS....it almost feels like the park is only open for us :)

I went to Akershus after reading your review and asked for pancakes for my DS who doesn't like eggs. The waiter said no. I said I had a friend who had some made. He said they only do it for allergies. :sad2: I was soooo irritated!!!

So next time I will be a liar and tell them DS has an egg allergy. :rolleyes1

Prefer it to dinner although we love both. Similar buffet style to dinner (minus shrimp and salad but with the addition of great pastries). the potatoes are the best ever!!!

We loved it too! There was great Princess interaction and the food was plentiful. I don't remember going to the bar....it seemed it was family style when we went to the breakfast. The lunch and dinner had the bar though. Don't know if it is still the same.

We've heard wonderful things about Akershus and will be going to breakfast there in September :).

We have done lunch there twice and really enjoyed it! But, we decided we would try Bkfst this time!:rotfl: We are just wondering what exactly is on the cold buffet??:wizard:

We went for dinner last trip but our last breakfast was Feb 2009. On the cold buffet was from memory - lots of fresh fruit, definitely strawberries, melon and grapes as we have them in some of our photos. Smoked salmon, herring and cream cheese, some type of breakfast cake (tasted similar to cornbread) with lingonberry jam. Also lots of lovely danish pastries. To be honest I didn't intend to have more than that until the cooked family style platter arrived. One try of those potatoes reminded me why I had booked. I nearly sank three plates full.:goodvibes
