Stormtroopers Stole My Christmas--*UPDATED 07/02/17!*--Pg. 10

Goodness... Disney Springs is so different from the DTD I remember. I agree with you, the new stores are similar to what we can go to here at home. Trash Can Ornaments...that's hilarious! A few years back we were able to purchase a CBR ornament in the shape of the Mickey's head -- it's definitely one of our favorites :) The drone show looked really pretty.

OMG yes! The first time we went to Disney Springs, I was like "whaaaaa?!". I definitely want one of the Trash can ornaments!!! I should've just purchased one and stuck it on the tree. Ohhhhh I bet that is a pretty ornament!!

Congrats on getting through your first year of law school AND your next Disney trip. extremely jealous :smooth:

Thank you so much!!! I really appreciate you reading!

I promise this whole TR update isn’t going to be only fishies…

Okay, but how could you not like the fish pics!

Finally, mom and dad had to pry me away from the Living Seas. We had a fastpass for Soarin’ to use!

32808895280_ca147343dc_z.jpg

I really love the new Soarin’ movie… but I miss the old one too.

After Soarin’ we were pretty hungry, so we went to the United Kingdom pavilion to grab some fish and chips.

Mom and dad waited for the food, while I stood around people’s tables making them uncomfortable so they would move. I have no issues with it… lol.

The fish and chips were good, but it was at this lunch that I noticed I had a cavity… The hot fried fish was really causing my tooth to hurt! As soon as we got back from Disney, I went and got it filled.

We decided to walk around the World Showcase a little bit, but it was SO hot! It felt like Disney in July.

ah, yes - table lurking! Sometimes it's a jungle out there and you gotta do what ya gotta do ;-) Too bad about the cavity, that is the worse! Hopefully it wasn't too much an annoyance during the rest of your time in WDW.

Oh girl I have no shame in making people uncomfortable at Disney! lol. The cavity was pretty big, but didn't ruin anything luckily!! Thanks for continuing to read!! :)

We went into the bakery in Norway, to grab an afternoon snack and some water.

Once we got our desserts, we walked through the Frozen exhibition. I found it incredibly hard to carry my snack, water, and take pics, so we went to find a table…
but there were none!

So, I just posted up outside of the exhibition with my no sugar added berry trifle.

And my Halloween cup… at Christmas. Lol

After our desserts at Norway, we walked to Germany to look for some Christmas ornaments there in honor of my Grandma who passed last August.

If anyone would like to get me this awesome Arribas brothers Stitch, I won’t object! (Get it object? It’s a lawyer funny… okay, I know I’m a dork).

At this point, we went back to CBR to get ready for our dinner at California Grill.

Once we were dressed and ready, we took the bus to MK and finally the monorail to the Contemporary.

We made our way to the second floor to check in…

Within minutes we were on the elevator and seated at an awesome table with a view of the open kitchen.

It became apparent rather quickly that we were the MOST overdressed people in the entire place! I’ve noticed dress codes have become a lot more relaxed throughout the resort… so this next trip we aren’t going to dress all fancy!

32808881890_a88d5e15ae_z.jpg

Our waiter was lackluster, but he quickly brought out our bread service… lava rock salt butter with lavender focaccia.

At first I questioned lavender… well and lava rock salt, but it was delicious! It was floral/sweet bread with super salty butter. I LOVED it.

Once we ordered our entrees, dad and I went out to the outdoor patio to take pictures of the amazing view!

Once dad and I took a million pictures of the views, we sat back down and watched the chef put the final touches on the plates. It was amazing to see how much detail went into one plate of food!

33191576585_17f37690bc_z.jpg

Our food was pretty quick to come out, which was fantastic since I had eaten 7,000 pieces of bread at this point!

Mom ordered a chicken entrée, which wasn’t on the menu, but they had no problems making it for her!

33149538096_0e3ab4668f_z.jpg

Dad and I both ordered the Oak Fired Filet with duck fat potatoes… which let me tell you was the absolute BEST steak I have ever had in my entire life! To this day dad and I still talk about how amazing California Grill was.

33191575815_9fdf7c6567_z.jpg

Once we were done with our entrees, our waiter brought out the dessert menu.

33191575595_1820590246_z.jpg

Dad ordered the Smores Crème Brulee, which he said was rich but good.

33034731002_181d79e00f_z.jpg

Mom and I ordered the no sugar added panacotta… which was good, but paled in comparison to the AMAZING filet I had just enjoyed. Seriously Disney, can I replace dessert for another filet?!?! Lol.

33191574665_06e78d01d4_z.jpg

I requested the coconut lime ice cream on the side because I’m not a fan of coconut, but this ice cream was pretty delicious and really complemented the panacotta.

:wave2: We do this all the time lol!! Nope, no issues, and I don't care if people watch and wait for our table, either. Ya gotta do it in Disney!

We've always noticed this when we go to signatures, however we rather be overdressed than under. Plus I don't work, so I don't get much chance to dress up at home, and therefore I enjoy dressing up for dinner once in awhile down there :) When we went to CG I had a sun dress on and DH had nice shorts and a button down shirt. The couple at the table next to us had come from the park. Not a big deal at all just complete opposite!

Last weekend we ate at Citricos; I wore a sundress from Old Navy so not over the top fancy but nice,DH dressed like I described above. This time he actually felt under dressed! Don't know what it was but it was the first time we noticed every single table in the restaurant, those seated when we arrived and those who came in while we were eating, all majorly dressed up. It was actually very nice.

One time we went to HBD in August after about 4 hours in the park. We had the kids with us, and by the time we got to the restaurant we were all gross sweaty
messes :crazy2: Didn't stop up from going in!!

Those Garden Grill views

I love the view from CG! I just wish we would have been there during the fireworks.

That's crazy! I guess it depends on the venue and timing of when you go to the signature?! That makes me nervous though, because we totally planned to go casual... and I'm thinking it might not be a good idea.

Oh HBD is set up for sweaty park goers since it is right in the center of the park!! Hope you guys had a nice trip!!

Hey Ya'll!
Sorry for the delay, I just got back from our Royal Caribbean cruise yesterday and I was exhausted! Who knew any vacation other than Disney World would wear you out! hahaha.
Anyhow, thanks for bearing with me... here's the next update!

After dinner, we went and shopped in the Contemporary’s shops for a little bit. After shopping, I secured a fastpass for the Haunted Mansion.

Mom decided to head back to CBR, while dad and I went ahead to the MK.

Dad and I walked through Adventureland, and looked around for a bit until it was time for our fastpasses.

Everything was going great, I was standing by the parasol girl in the Stretching Room… right where they make you step off of the wall into the ‘dead center’ of the room.

33063612501_43b226ed67_z.jpg

I was happy, and excited to ride HM… until a group of taller/stronger women rolled up and pushed me with their bodies from where I was standing. It was pretty rude! I don’t hold my tongue, so of course I said something… they didn’t care. Oh well, dad and I let the impatient women go and we were happy again.

The bride room is my favorite!!

At the end when the hitch-hiking ghosts join you, dad and I got one that said he was on his way to Louisiana! It was too cool!!! I know they do that with the magic band, and they are starting to do it on more and more rides… but I thought it was an awesome touch!

After HM, dad was getting tired and wanted to beat the crowds at the bus stop, so we went back to CBR.

Great trip report. Following along to see where you end up staying with the free dining.

Thank you so much for reading!! We are staying at Pop Century! I see you are going there very soon as well!!! Are you excited?!
