Storing luggage at Epcot then taking cab to airport?

Has anyone done either or both of these? I don't know why, but I really don't want to have to deal with returning a car to the airport when we depart (I'm renting from MCO to Port and back to WDW and that doesn't bother me, but there is just something about knowing I am going to have to find a gas station, return the car (hopefully with no hassles), schlep our luggage to the counter, etc. instead of being dropped off.

Since it would actually save me a day's rental to turn into Dolphin instead of later that day at MCO I am considering putting our luggage into storage at Epcot (I understand that there are large storage lockers outside the park) and then grabbing a cab when we are ready to leave, as that would seem most convenient. (I do realize that it would not be as plush as a town car, but if cheaper and ready exactly when we are.....)

Does anyone know how much a cab is from Epcot to MCO?

Are you going to Epcot from the port so you don't have a hotel where you could store it? Are the lockers big enough to hold luggage? How are you going to get the luggage to the lockers? They will probably not allow you to wheel it through Epcot from the Dolphin. Seems like more hassle to me than returning the rental car at the airport. We always drop off our checked luggage curbside before we drop off the car so we only have our carryons to carry from the car rental return.

Yes, we are going to Epcot from the port that morning. My understanding is that the lockers are plenty big enough. We only have two suitcases, both small enough to carry on, which we may or may not do.

Again, I just don't like to end the trip with several chores to do, such as driving to the port, getting gas, returning the car, etc. It is a bit less painful to be driven curbside.

If you fill up the car on Disney property it will still be reading full when you get to the airport.

Cabs are waiting at the parks. But it would be more expensive than a one way limo ride. From CSR to the airport was $50 before tip.
