Stopped thinking, just booked another trip!

Well, call me obsessed, but I have just booked a 5 night "long weekend" for DW's milestone birthday in November.

Besides, I had this 20-30-40% off pin number burning a hole in my virtual digital pocket!

The deal breaker will be whether we can get some cheap-ish flights to get there in the first place. Ah, well, I have until September 27 to book them or cancel outright.

I think your DW will love it & especially that you're planning something special for her milestone bday. Husband gold star to you! That deal is fantastic. I just saw it on the weekend and have to admit to being quite tempted. Pixie dust for good flight deals!

I'm hoping she will really love the idea. In our family I'm the CDN (Certified Disney Nut) so I'm not so sure she'll want to go again less than a year after our last big family trip.

I'll hold off telling her about it until I do get some decent air fares at which time I'll have to tell her. Even I'm not willing to chance a "no, not now" with non-refundable airfares in hand. Mind you she couldn't really say no then. could she?

I've done a little more research and it seems we'll just catch the end of the Food and Wine Festival- with two days to recover before coming home. We've never been down in November before so this might be a bit more special for DW than "just another Disney trip".

Yes, it's this old thread again, and I have an update!

As it turned out, I got some great prices on flights in June, so I've been biding my time waiting for a good opportunity to "spring the news" on my poor, unsuspecting DW.

So, I popped the news this morning at breakfast- I figured it was time as in the next few weeks, stuff was going to start arriving in the mail. Besides, I thought I might need some time to do "damage control" if she did not like the idea. Remember, I'm the Disney-holic in this family.

So I just blurt it out, "How'd you like to go to Disney World for your birthday?" The blank stare I got made my stomach sink.

"What?" Says she.

"I'm taking you back to Florida for your birthday." Says I.

Well, the rest is history. My DW loved the idea and confessed she was actually "hoping for something special" to mark her 50th, but had no idea I was planning something like this.

A few minutes ago, she was running around the house saying she just had to call someone to share the news, so I guess it was a big hit!

I love happy endings.

One part of me really thought that my present would fly like a lead balloon, but never underestimate the power of the pixie dust!

I mean really, it was like the commercials, "I'm going to Disney World!" Too much fun, and now I can get openly excited about the trip too.

I like the shorter long weekend trips the best..... we will be in the world from Sat-Wed of the thanksgiving weekend..... can't wait!!
