Stop right now an dthink about the dis. How much time did it take to make this site and how hard was it to make it? DO you think it took a week and that was it? I just went to my college class and learned alot about the website designing. If you have a windows XP on the dis page in a white spot right click, then click view source, thik about it. That is only one page and all that had to be typed. I think we should all apreciate the dis alot more than we do right now.

Thank you webmasters and mod's and all the people that help make this sight possible :thumbsup2

A very true point. And welcome to the world of web design. I hope you enjoyed your class. When I first learned about web design, I was hooked!

pixiedust: Big thanks to Dis and our wonderful moderators! :disrocks:

Yes, thank you Dis and of course the wonderful moderators! Thank you for using your own time to make this a happy place! You are great! Don't let anyone tell you different!

The code you see when you view source is mostly auto-generated by a program called vBulletin. The software company's slogan? "Instant Community." :wave2:

But you're right that a lot of work does go into keeping the forums going and the site owners, staff and volunteers deserve our appreciation for the ongoing work that they do. :thumbsup2

it took like a week for me to understand how to use the beta kids club forum so i know how much hard work goes into it! But i hope you had fun to make it because i know i had fun making the club forum

Yes, the Dis Staff works very hard for our enjoyment.

I never appreciated website builders until I started my own websites. It's a lot of work.

The staff on this site deserved all of our respect and thanks.

Wait... Pete??

Is there another Pete?

I didn't do anything. I was just explaining that the setup of a forum like this isn't really the hard part. It's the maintenance. I set stuff like this up before but I didn't set up this one. :teeth:

I remember when this site was just a few boards about vactioning to Disney. It has become so huge I still can't beleive it! I remember when Pete (the creator of DIS) used to post often, and way back when I was a moderator of one of the boards here. Thanks to all for your hard work, and dedication you rock!

And to the OP- college so soon? I dont have enough money saved up yet to send my boy off to college yet (he's 10)! AHHH! Where does the time go?

I know in France they consider college as an elementary school and universities as colleges. Maybe he has some French in him? :confused3 lol.

And I too will thank the moderators and administrators for a job well done in keeping this board fun and exciting as well as safe! Thanks! :thumbsup2

Very true Cpt.JackSparrow. I never thought of it.

THANKS THE DIS MODERATORS!!!

Thanks DIS!! I've only been here for a year or so but everyones great and helpful here.

In the not even five months I've been here, I've grown to like the DIS alot. Especially all the friendly people and great staff. If it weren't for DIS, I'd probably surfing the web everyday bored out of my mind. :)

Thanks to Dis Staff and Mod's and everybody that works to make this a safe, fun, and active place to visit... :thumbsup2

Thank you so much for making these forums available to all Disney Fans!

You Rock!!!

Between the DIS, WDWINFO, Dreams etc it takes a pretty big team

Pete owns the boards and coordinates everything
Corey and his new assistant Ricky handle all of the creative artsy stuff
Regina, Kelsie and Bob handle content
I'm the tech geek, I handle the servers, software and keep everything running

Krazypete is right, the program behind the boards is "Vbulletin" but there has been a LOT of work put in to it. A stock vbulletin would not be able to handle the traffic we get and there has been a lot of work done on the artistic side as well.
If you venture over to our static site wdwinfo.com that is mostly done by hand using Dream Weaver and Cold Fusion
It takes a number of full time employees and 5 really big servers to make this thing work!

Ever since I've been on Dis, I have seen nothing but fun :goodvibes Dis is such a great place to go on.I just wanna say...

Thank you Everyone!

and...

Thank you Moderators! Dis Rocks!!! :disrocks:
