Stop Making Me Laugh Or I'll Pee My Pants! Go Back! I Lost My Shoe! Trip Report!

I can understand your feelings. Lacey played softball for years and years. Over time, it became more and more political.....pull out one kid who has been playing a position for a long time and replace them with the coach's kid or the sponsor's kid (even if they don't play that position as well). After a while, it started grating on Lacey's nerves as well as her Dad and I's. It was just not fair. Lacey tried to stick it out for one more year but she just couldn't do it. We stood behind her decision.

Where will you be going on your cruise? Ginny who is here on my report is a cruise expert and I'm sure she'd love to hear all about it. (as do the rest of us).

I think it will be the normal 3 or 4 day DCL cruise. I have been on in the past, but there has been a lot of changes since then. I think I was 11 or 12, the last time I went on, so its been a while.

:santa: :thanks: THANK YOU!!!! :santa: Lisa!!! :mickeyjum

We received your Christmas gifts and wishes today!!!! Ashton is getting so spoiled with the mail surprises!!!! Thank you!!! Have a great day and weekend!!! :santa:

you are just to sweet and considerate!!!
Love you!!! Connie
:hug::thanks:

Aw, I can't wait to see what your theme will be this year! Be sure to post some pictures for us, okay?

I'm thinking that Mitchell and I will make those ornaments tomorrow. I have paint at home, but I'm not sure which ones I have. Some of those may be dried up by now, I don't know! So I guess it will depend if I have paint or not. I may let him use markers, if it comes down to it. That would probably be easier for him. And mommy will have some homemade ornaments for her tree! :thumbsup2

Enjoy your weekend! Stay warm. We never even made it to forty degrees today.

We got the tree decorated last night. I'll take a picture of it as soon as I find the tree topper. It's somewhere up in the attic.

Did you and Mitchell make the ornaments yesterday? I used to have the kids make candies and cookies every year. It was always so much fun.

I think it will be the normal 3 or 4 day DCL cruise. I have been on in the past, but there has been a lot of changes since then. I think I was 11 or 12, the last time I went on, so its been a while.

Sounds like a lot of fun. I'd love to go on a cruise but just can't make John want to go on one.

You are so welcome! Ashton is supposed to be spoiled rotten!

Hello all! I hope you guys are having a wonderful weekend.

We went to eat BBQ and then went to the movies last night. My Mama came along too. We saw Old Dogs which was absolutely hilarious. All of us laughed so hard we were crying at some of the parts. Just what we needed on a dreary rainy day.

We came home and decorated the tree. When we had the garage sale this Summer, I got rid of all of my old Christmas decorations. So, I had to buy a new wreath and I bought some really cute snowman candle holders. Which made me think I should go with a snowflake theme this year. We had some snowflake ornaments in gold and white. We put those on the tree but it didn't seem like enough stuff on it (I like a lot). Years ago, my theme was glass, silver, white and gold. That's what we ended up doing this year with the exception of the clear glass.

I can't find my star tree topper or our stockings. I couldn't find my nativity either. Meaning, it's somewhere up in the attic. Just gotta get up there and dig around some more. Thankfully, it's supposed to be warmer this afternoon than it was yesterday.

Once I get the tree finished, I'll take a picture and post it for you guys.

Oh, I already know what theme I am going with next year. It's going to be a cooking theme. I have some ornaments that look like little pots and pans and I found some ceramic gingerbread ornaments my sister gave me a year or two ago. So, I'll make real gingerbread ornaments next year. I'm thinking of making it a Disney gingerbread tree. Just depends on whether or not I can find some Disney cookie cutters. I'll be sure to be on the lookout for them when we go to Disney World.

Gotta go so I can find something for our lunch. Talk with you guys later.

Subbing to this awesome thread!

Discovered it a couple of days ago and have been working my way through it. You're family sounds amazing. I can't wait to read the next installment.

If you need a nativity scene, I've got you covered. Somehow my family ended up with 5...not entirely sure how.

The pictures of Lacey are AWESOME. She is so pretty. I love the barn background. I think nature pictures are the best.

When I read about the kids in line at TSM it reminded me of my post and experience at TSM from our May trip. What is it about this ride that makes parents think it is OK not to supervise their kids?

I hope you take lots of pix of the tree so we can see the theme.

Hey Lisa, made it home about 7:30 tonite. Totally tired. We had such fun. I'll make a report tomorrow. The boss is stiil gone tomorrow and Tuesday. YAY!!! I don't even mind going to work on a Monday. What is wrong with me? That never happens.

Talk later.

Ginny

We went to see Old Dogs this weekend too! Loved it. Next weekend we are going to see The Princess and the Frog I think I'm more excited about seeing it then River is LOL!
Speaking of not being able to find things I found a box of flat wooden ornaments that you paint yourself for River to do because he love crafts and I put them aside in a safe place till we got the tree up. Where's the safe place? I don't know:confused:
Can't wait to see pictures of your tree!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while...great updates! Love all your TSM pictures. That is annoying about the kids touching all the props. :confused3 When we were on Peter Pan once this group of kids in front of us was reaching out of their ship and touching some of the scenery. Sounds like you had fun at Prime Time too!

Hey, Lisa! Hope your Monday is going well. Misty and foggy this morning, but we're sitting at 58 degrees right now, so at least we're not FREEZING!

And Lunch is being served today, so that's good for me (since I didn't bring my lunch today, LOL!)

I bought myself a Mickey Head cookie cutter while I was down there a week ago. It's fairly big and looks like a hidden Mickey to me. It's red metal and I found it at Mouse Gears in Epcot. I'm sure I saw it someplace else too but that is where I bought it. I don't remember seeing any others but they may have sets of cutters somewhere.

Good morning Lisa. Hope your weekend was good. Don and I want to go see Old Dogs but while in Kansas City we laid in bed and rented "My Life In Ruins". It was very funny and out on DVD. We had a wonderful girls weekend out.

Have a good day. My boss is gone today and tomorrow. YAY for me.

I missed the post about your tree! It sounds so pretty. I like the idea of having a themed tree. I can't wait to see your pictures!

Old Dogs sounds like a wonderful movie. The previews of it are hilarious!

Okay...I think I'm all caught up. I am so glad that it is the beginning of a new week. After the train accident last Thursday (my train hit a car and it took me three hours to get home), my computer crashed at home on Friday (and so I didn't get to DIS unless I could sneak on Andy's computer every 12 hours), we spent Saturday in Dubuque where Mark wrestled for the first time this year (and he went 2-0!) and Sunday we went to PF Chang's for dinner (it was wonderful -- had the pork dumplings -- they were just okay, and the sweet/sour pork which was out of this world and chocolate cake for dessert) with friend we hadn't seen in over three years and they treated us (how sweet of them) and then I did about eight loads of laundry. This week has to be slower and better.

Lisa, I got your card and the little goodies in it -- THANK YOU so very much.

I'm going to try and post another Disney installment for you guys. I'm going to apologize right now that this post is going to be a bit out of whack. You'll remember that the camera was acting like a total but-a-rama (I know that's not spelled right but it would have been bleeped out otherwise. ;)) I've uploaded Lacey's pictures along with mine and they are so out of order it's pitiful. So bear with me....at least I'm writing an installment which is better than I've done for the last week or so.

I told ya'll that we had seen the UP characters but I didn't have the Photopass pictures uploaded. Now, I do.

Here's one that they took when we first got into the park. The sun was shining in our eyes and we couldn't see at all. This isn't the best picture in the world but I like it because John is actually smiling. He was trying to get Hunter to smile bigger and pinched him on the butt which made John laugh out loud. Oh, and you can see my whole shirt. It was super cute....Thumper.

I think I forgot to post these pictures. When we left Prime Time, I took a few pictures.

Waaaay back, years ago, Lacey used to lay down in this dragon's mouth. This time, she just posed with it.

DSCN1710-1.jpg

Not to be outdone by his sister, Hunter had me take a picture of him too:

DSCN1711-1.jpg

You can tell from this picture that it was still hot outside. It was getting dark and we were still sweatin'. Please overlook their yellowish teeth. They had been eating a Laffy Taffy and it turned their teeth and tongues yellow. But Hunter wanted me to take a picture of him and Lacey so that you could see the cherry stem knot.

DSCN1712-1.jpg

Here's a close up of the cherry stem knot.

DSCN1713-1.jpg

If I am remembering correctly, the next thing on our list of things to do was the Great Movie Ride. I turned the flash off on my camera and tried taking pictures.

DSCN1718-1.jpg

DSCN1719-1.jpg

This is supposed to be the Alien coming down and terrorizing us. Horrible picture but I'm putting it in anyway. Ya'll just use your imagination that there's a ugly slobbery alien above us.

DSCN1723-1.jpg

The other pictures were quite bad. We continued on and then ended up following the yellow brick road. Following, following, following, following the yellow brick road. Hey, it isn't "It's a Small World After All" but maybe the song will stick with you for a while.:rolleyes1

Continued in next post.

We were having a high ole' time until this wicked witch showed up yelling something about somebody stealing some ruby slippers.

The bucket of water was tossed and we were off to finish up our trip down the yellow brick road.

DSCN1731.jpg

I love the clips of the movies that they show at the end of the ride. John, of course, dozed a minute or two. Imagine that.

Fantasmic was showing tonight and we wanted to start making our way over towards the theater. I snappd this picture as we walked:

DSCN1732.jpg

We wanted to stop and see how long the wait was for Rock 'n Roller Coaster first. The wait time was 70 minutes! Yikes! Looks like we won't be hitching a ride with the Aerosmith gang this trip. Darn it all! I took more pictures and we noticed that there's a hidden Mickey in the band picture. Can you find it?

First picture....kind of blurry:

Second picture...a little better:

And, of course, a couple of guitar pictures:

DSCN1734.jpg

John asked Lacey if she wanted to go on Tower of Terror and she didn't feel up to it. He asked Hunter if he wanted to go. Hunter just looked at him as if he had two heads and a forked tongue. He turned to me and asked if I wanted to go. I didn't but I could tell that he really wanted to ride. Dumb bunny me agreed to go. The kids 'bout fell down. Their "deathly afraid of heights" mother had just agreed to ride Tower of Terror. They said they'd go into the waiting area and wait for us.

The wait time was just 20 minutes. I guess everybody was over at Rock 'n Roller Coaster. :confused3 Did I tell ya'll already that when I went over to get Fastpasses to Rock 'n Roller Coaster earlier in the day, I had gotten four Fastpasses for Tower of Terror since the coaster ones were already distributed? Well, I did because I thought that John and Lacey were going to ride it.

Thank goodness I had those Fastpasses. Otherwise, I probably would have chickened out. The entire time, I was telling John that I wasn't going to like this one bit but I was doing it for him. He just laughed and said it would be okay.

We walked straight into the room where they show you the film clip. It started right when we walked in. I listened to what they were saying but was too busy looking around the room to watch. It was really cool. Next, we went into the boiler room thingie and were soon getting into our elevator. I made John swear he'd keep his arm around mine. He swore and he did. The elevator starting moving forward and I was paying attention but not paying attention at the same time. I know that probably doesn't make too much sense. I was noticing things but scared about the drop so I probably missed a lot. Anyway, we get to the part where we drop and I screamed bloody murder. :scared1: We jerked back up again and we dropped again. I screamed bloody murder again. :scared1: We were pulled back up again and the doors opened and I could see for what seemed like miles. Then, we dropped again. Yep...I screamed bloody murder again.:scared1: I think we dropped once more and then we came to a stop.

I looked at John and said "wanna go again?" I couldn't believe I liked it. We walked through to the waiting area and found Lacey and Hunter immediately. They asked me how it was and I told them that we were going again. They didn't believe me at first. They told me that they had actually held hands and prayed for me because they thought I would freak out. Sweet babies! The kids stayed where they were and John and I went back to the Fastpass return line.

We pretty much walked on to the ride again. This time we were seated right beside four teenage boys. They were acting all tough and talking smack. The boy beside John was talking on the phone and was telling the person that we were going somewhere in an elevator and he didn't know where. John told him that we were going to drop in just a second. The boy said "I gotta go" and snapped his cell phone shut. Next thing we knew, we were dropping! I didn't scream as loud this time but I could certainly hear every one of those teenagers screaming their lungs out. We dropped a total of four times. When we stopped, I heard the boy next to John say "Man I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to." John just laughed and said "It's alright man."

When the boys were out of earshot, I asked John what that was all about. He said the boy next to him had grabbed John's arm and had curled around him....even one of his legs around John's. John lifted up his shirt sleeve and he had red marks on it where the boy had gripped it so hard. It was so funny!

We met the kids back in the waiting room but didn't stick around to see what the picture was like because they were letting people in to see Fantasmic.

Hunter and I were together and John and Lacey were walking together. We have always done this every since the kids were little. One adult has one kid and the other adult has the other kid. I know, I know. Lacey's not technically a kid anymore but it just comes natural.

So, I'm walking ahead of John and Lacey. Hunter and I are talking about me riding Tower of Terror and we come to where you can get into the Fantasmic theater. I just turned the corner and started up the trail along with all the other thousands of people. Hunter and I are wiggling our way through the people, still talking all the time. I'm not paying a bit of attention to the people around us other than keeping from being stepped on.

When we get to the top of the path, John says "thanks for me almost getting into a fight". I didn't know what he was talking about and I couldn't ask because we were in the stream of people that the castmembers were waving down the theater. When we are finally seated, John said some guy accused me of breaking into line. John told him that I didn't know that we were breaking into the line....that I was just going with the flow. The guy yelled at John that we were supposed to wait on everybody else to go before we went. John told him to just shove it because we weren't the only ones who had gotten into line at the same time. Lacey told John and the other guy to just shut up because all of us were going to get in no matter what. Lacey, the peacemaker.

Looking back at it, I guess I did break in line. But, at the time, I certainly had no idea that I was breaking in line. You know how you see the stream of people following the end of the parade and you just get in line whenever you can so you can make your way to your destination? That's what I did. Like I said, I didn't mean to break in line.

John was still pretty p.o.'d about the guy and was a little p.o.'d at me because he said I should have watched what I was doing. Soon, though, it was all okay again and we were laughing about one thing and another.

The crowd started doing the wave while they were waiting on the show to start. Here are some crowd pictures:

Before long, the show started. The wind was blowing and we were getting wet from the spray of the fountains. My camera was acting up again. I tried taking pictures with Lacey's camera but it was trying to focus on the water droplets...not the stuff going on in the background. Oh, these are all out of order. Sorry!

I know I have some more Fantasmic pictures that turned out pretty decent but I can't find them on Photobucket right now.

The show was fantabulous as always. I can't imagine going to Hollywood Studios and missing Fantasmic. We've only missed it once and that was when we thought it was rained out but it wasn't. Hunter will never let us forget that trip. :sad2:

We waited while nearly everybody left the theater. I think there were about two dozen people left when we finally decided the coast was clear. We walked out of the theater and down the backway. We exited the park but before we made our way to the bus stop, I had to go potty. Yes, again!

The CBR bus stop at Hollywood Studios is pretty close to the front so we didn't have far to walk. There were about a dozen people in front of us so we knew we'd get a seat on the bus. We didn't have long to wait before a bus came along. It took us about 10 minutes to make it back to the resort. We were all hot and sweaty still. It had been really hot that day. While the rest of us were getting ready for bed, Lacey went down to the beach to call her Mission friends.

It had been a fun day. We had ridden everything we wanted with the exception of Rock 'n Roller Coaster. I couldn't believe that we didn't get to ride it. But, I had tackled something new....Tower of Terror!

Lisa, I am so super duper scooper proud of you riding TOT. I so love that ride. I know, heights and all. I had come to the conclusion at Disney that they are not going to put millions of people on a ride that is not safe. It is strictly visual anyway. I admit the first time the windows opened and I saw Mickey's Water Tower I freaked. Poor Andrew, I held really tight to his arm. Good thing John wasn't there. He would be so black and blue on both sides. But by the time it was over I could not wait to go again. Wonderful ride. I love Fantasmic. I can't believe people watch it and say 'well, it was ok' I think it is Fantasmically Awesome. We didn't get many pics because of the rain but Don did film it.

Again. super proud of you.

I received your package. You are so wonderful. I'm doing my best to get mine mailed tomorrow. I am sending a PM.

Lisa, I am THRILLED that you did TOT. It is my absolute favorite ride in all of Disney...I just love it. I bet Lacey and Hunter were proud of you too. :thumbsup2
