Stop Making Me Laugh Or I'll Pee My Pants! Go Back! I Lost My Shoe! Trip Report!

im enjoying every installment u write:) cant wait for moreee:jumping1: good job hunter for being brave and riding splash!!

Hi Lisa! I made it over here. We have been back from the world for a week now and I just can't seem to catch up with everything! I took me 4 hours but I'm caught up on your report.:surfweb:. Now just so I have everything straight in my head:crazy2: I'm on page 121 its the end of the night at MK is this only day 3 of the trip or did I get mixed up?

Thats funny about splash mountain it was my first time and ds6's (River) first time also. River cried the whole way through the ride and I was so scared I thought I was going to throw up! We got splashed right away and my glasses got wet so it was real hard for me to even see anything lol, well between trying to calm River down and my FEAR of drops and not being able to see most of the ride I pretty much missed it. After the drop River and I looked at each other and said Oh thats not bad. So we got back on and now its one of our Faves:love:

Thanks for telling me about this place! I'll be checking back as soon as I get a chance:woohoo:

Great update & photos as usual, Lisa!

Thanks!

Great update. i would've been cracking up along with you guys. Too funny!

Skip's doing pretty good. But he is driving me crazy at times. I'm getting nothing done, becuase my routine is just messed up with him here.

Hunter had us all laughing with his threat to his Dad's um-hum....parts.:lmao:

I am sure that Skip is just as ready as you are to get him out of the house. ;)

Hey, Lisa! Another great update! Too funny about Hunter and Splash Mountain and his dad's "goov". :rotfl: Glad it survived the ride. :rotfl2:

Poor Lacey! It stinks to have that time during your fun time. It's a hassle to have to deal with and it hurts, making it hard to enjoy everything.

Love Hunters new shirt.

Hunter used to like Splash Mountain. He would be scared of the final drop but liked the rest of it. Now, my mama has him scared of the entire thing now. I know she doesn't mean to but it makes me very upset.

Beautiful job on the Ten Commandments. I think they are keepers when Hunter is done with them at school!

Hunter just called. He said his teacher loved his Ten Commandments. I was afraid that they were too "rough" and not like the real ones but, apparently, she liked them.

I had hoped to get a longer installment posted earlier but then the boss came in. I can usually get a few little things posted here and there throughout the day but can't concentrate long enough to do a "real" installment.

Hey there! I'm so glad that you found your way over.

Oh...I hate that River cried throughout Splash and that you felt like hurling! But, at least in the end, you both were brave enough to ride it again and loved it.

Now that you're over here, you know that you've got to start a trip report soon.

Thought I'd post some pictures of the river. These were taken on the way home. Sorry they aren't so good since it was raining and I took them while driving.

These are taken from the bridge that you can see in my previous pictures. This is the bridge on the right of the earlier pictures. I had to hold the camera up just enough to see over the side of the bridge. When the river is at normal levels, you have to look down to see a glimpse of the water.

These are after I crossed the bridge. They are of the railroad bridge that crosses the river. These are at eye level.

Some driving home in the rain. In the first one, you can see the drainage thingie overflowing:

Since the boss was in Chicago, I had to feed his cats. Hunter and John went with me but on the way, we stopped in the parking lot across from my office so they could see how high the river was. A news crew was there doing a live update for the 5:00 news.

Looking left at the news crew:

We walked out on the boardwalk where the news crew was and I took more pictures:

It was raining pretty good at the time so we got back in the car and drove down the parking lot a little ways to where there is a sitting area/pavilion. We got out and walked down there to look. The water was right up to the bottom of the pavilion. It kind of freaked us out that we could have leaned down and touched the river. This post looked like it had drifted down the river and got lodged under the pavilion/walkway:

The temperature had fallen and it was still raining but I took one last picture which was of John and Hunter:

Since I posted a bunch of rainy pictures, I thought I'd post some sunny ones. Yesterday afternoon, we just hung around outside. There was no church Sunday night. It was family night....no services because you are supposed to spend time with your family. We did!

John and Hunter hit a few golf balls. Oddball would retrieve the balls for them but sometimes didn't want to give them back.

SANY0889.jpg

Hunter got tired of chasing Oddball for the balls so he decided to swing a little while. Oddball absolutely loves it when Hunter swings. He runs and chases him the entire time. When I took this picture, Oddball was off to find something to drink.

John was sitting on the bench and I was in the porch swing when John said he spotted a butterfly on my Disney plant.

SANY0891.jpg

SANY0892.jpg

Speaking of my Disney plant. It's tall now. It started out about 5 inches tall and now comes up to my chest.

SANY0893.jpg

Please excuse the back porch. It's a mess! We had a non-slip paint on it when we had the pool. It's started to peel from the heat and it's driving me crazy.

The woods behind our house are pretty grown up but I wanted to see if I could wade through the brush and look around. Some of the weeds and bushes were over my head but I still got a few pictures.

A wild orange tree. Just one lone orange amongst all those long thorns.

SANY0887.jpg

I trudged my way back to the yard and it was painful. I had lots of little thorns and sticky things in my blue jeans and socks. Crocs aren't the best thing to walk around the woods in.

Okay guys and gals, I'm about to sneak out a few minutes early. I want to go across the street and take a few more pictures of the river. This is supposed to be a historical event....the river is at the second highest stage right now. I'll try to get back on later tonight but I am not promising. Monday homework is always the worst!

Before signing off, I wondered if any of you had put this on your Christmas list as well. I hated quoting myself but I thought the post might have been overlooked since I kind of snuck it in between other posts.

My wife thought it was very cool. I'm not showing it to my oldest daughter it will give her ideas I cannot afford. :scared1:

Thank You all for your kind responses to my Dad. Our trip cannot come soon enough.:dance3:

Thanks, Brian

Yes, I did see your Christmas list  I was thinking about Gwendolyn & Joe the entire time
I always wondered what the ball park of something would be...just don't know if I want my reception in the float barn :lmao:

Congrats! to Hunter on a job well Done!! :yay:

great pictures!! hope the water starts to go down sooner or later!! I'll have to ask Danny about the river down here....:rolleyes2

I saw the post too :p. I just had to chuckle that it was offered at Sam's Club. Makes me wonder how in the world they came into that as inventory... some bigwig make plans and then things fell apart? It's not something you'd typicially (especially as detailed as it is) find.

I want it.

Welcome

Hunter said some boy accused him or ordering them off of Ebay. :rotfl:

If anyone would know it would be you.

Don is getting my that so we can renew our vows for our 42 wedding anniversary. Of course all my friends can come. No gifts necessary just bring money so we can pay for the darn thing. (that is more than we paid for our house)

Oh my goodness!!! $200,000 for a wedding... A girl can dream can't she!

I'm not much of a fan of the big drop on splash either, When I did it this summer I actually took my glasses off going up the last hill as 1 I wanted to keep them dry and two I just didn't feel like seeing the drop. Also what gets you wet going up the lift hill beside the drop isn't the splash from the boats going down the big drop it's actually sprayed from water pumps at you.
