I could have had that smores cheesecake. No fair you all going next May. When I found out that Connie and I were there at the same time last year I all but was thankful we didn't know each other then. If I knew one of my friends was there when I was and we didn't meet I would be very disheartened. Don insists no vacay next year. If it gets him to retire next Dec I'm all for it. He is finally back to 8 hr days after his injury and not liking it one bit. I think that injury was a godsend. As does he. It has made him realize that life is not all about work.
Maybe that injury was a blessing in disguise....it made him wise up and recognize what's really important in life. Not that he didn't already know....you know what I am trying to say.
The food at WCC looks fabulous! The only thing that stopped us from eating there on our 2007 trip was the transportation situation. We were new to the whole thing and had heard that going from resort to resort was not easy so we stuck to restaurants in the parks. This past year we were on the QSDP and the only meal we paid for OOP was a character meal. It's definitely on the list for our next visit!
Have Lacey and Hunter always been close? My boys argue and bicker all of the time and I really hope someday they will enjoy each other's company!
The Wilderness Lodge doesn't do much for me either. It's pretty, don't get me wrong, but I'd stay at other deluxe resorts before I tried that one.
Where are you off to next??
This year was our first year to eat at a Disney resort. Like you, I was always afraid to try it because of the transportation issues I had read about. It really was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be.
I think your family would enjoy the Whispering Canyon meal. Even Hunter, picky as he is, was able to find something he liked.
When I had Hunter, Lacey was 10. Everybody told us that Lacey would be jealous when the baby came along. Well, she was jealous but not in the way that everybody thought she would be. She was jealous when somebody took Hunter away from her. She wanted him all to herself. They do sometimes get on each other's nerves but it's only because Hunter clings to her. He thinks she is the best thing that ever walked this Earth.
I am sure that your boys will grow out of the bickering.....in another ten-fifteen years or so. Just kidding....John and his siblings are close in age (there are 6 of them) and he said they bickered all the time but when if anybody tried to come between them, they'd stick together like glue.
The Wilderness Lodge is beautiful. If I am going to pay deluxe prices, I want something that doesn't look like home. I think that's why we have always overlooked the Port Orleans resorts. Too many places around Louisiana that look like the resort. Thank goodness there are lots of Disney resorts to choose from.
Hi Lisa! Loving your updates!! DH and I absolutely LOVE the food at Wispering Canyon! We have been there twice. One of the times being on our honeymoon. Both times we were seated in that same section you all were sitting. We too missed out on all the fun! This is the only thing that bugs me at Disney. Sometimes I feel if you don't have little children with you, they don't "mess" with you! Every trip I have ever taken to Disney, my family and I go to the 50s Prime Time Cafe! Well, the first time I took DH, then BF, to the Prime Time, not a thing went on! I was so disappointed. That has happened several times to us. Finally, in 2007, we went to Disney with my parents and two brothers. My youngest brother was about 16 at the time, looked about 13 though! They finally "messed" with us at the Prime Time!!! It was SO funny! But low and behold, in 2008, on our honeymoon, we got nothing!

I just don't get it! Anyway. Glad to see you enjoyed the meal! SO yummy there!!! Can't wait to read more!
I think Disney is so focused on catering to the children, maybe it's hard for them to focus on the adults sometimes.
The boss just doesn't understand my enthusiasm for Disney World. He's never been and has no desire, whatsoever, to go. I showed him some of my pictures from our last trip and he was in shock. He had no idea how detailed and bright and clean and pretty it was.
He hasn't said anything else about me changing my vacation dates. If he does, I'm probably going to be standing on top of his desk jumping up and down!
Thanks!
I love the WCC. We had a good time and i loved the shakes as well as dessert! I really could go for some cheesecake right now. I wish I lived close to a cheesecake factory!
The cheesecake does sound pretty good doesn't it. We ate at the Cheesecake Factory when it was still in Disney Quest......Yummy!
