Stop Making Me Laugh Or I'll Pee My Pants! Go Back! I Lost My Shoe! Trip Report!

Love the Updates!!:thumbsup2

Splash Mountain is so much fun!! We got soaked in April riding it too, and it was definitely unexpected, since it didn't come from going down the huge drop but from another log coming down. That's too bad that Hunter doesn't really like it. But, good for him for riding it anyway!!:thumbsup2 The only ride that Nick seems so set against going on is The Haunted Mansion. I know he'd like it...but he still refuses to go. Hopefully, next trip!!

Love Hunter's Splash Mountain shirt!! I want one!!;)---and great picture of Main Street all lit up. It's just beautiful at night, isn't it?:cloud9:

I think I will ask DH for that gift from Sam's Club too!! Wishful thinking, right?:rolleyes1 I can just hear him now. He'd probably start laughing and not stop.:rotfl:

You take such great pictures!! I love the one with the butterfly on your Disney plant!!:goodvibes---oh and I hope the water goes down very soon!

Good morning all!

I'll come back in a bit and reply to you all.

The river rose 6 feet yesterday. That's what the news reported at 6:00 p.m. I took a few pictures when I left work yesterday but they didn't turn out well because it was getting dark. When I came to work today, they are working full force in raising the flood wall panels. The State Police have most of the parking lot across the street blocked off. I was able to get a few pictures of the water. They are threatening to start arresting people who are on the levees.

I couldn't believe how high the water was! I will post pictures as soon as I can.

Gee Whiz. I am so glad I am not in a flood area. Although our water situation here isn't much better. I saw they had to close a casino in St. Louis on the river. And we do have lots of flooded streets here still. Have a good day. Don't work overly hard.

Ginny

The boss came in early this morning and has already given me a stack of stuff to do. Before I get started, I wanted to post some pictures of the river. These were taken about 5:20 p.m. yesterday. I tried fiddling with the settings on my camera but some still didn't come out so great. Take note of the space underneath the boardwalk. This will become important when you see the pictures I took this morning.

There were several news crews doing live reporting:

In the last set of pictures I posted, you'll recall that we walked out on a pavilion/walkway and took pictures. They are the ones where there was a piling wedged underneath the pavilion. We could almost reach down and touch the river then. The last picture I took was of John and Hunter. Look at the pavilion/walkway now!

I can't get photobucket to rotate the picture that I took of the railroad bridge. If I get it rotated, I'll post it too.

Man! That is some serious flooding. We appreciate you posting your pics out here so we can see. I can honestly say I've never seen anything like that. Where I live, thank goodness, there aren't any real weather/environmental issues to worry with, so we are very lucky. Tornadoes every so often, but in our area, even those seem to pass us by. We have been very lucky so far!

I checked out the Disney Dream Wedding site on Sams Club. Geez! That's a lot of money! :scared1:

Lisa, those pictures are unreal. Makes you appreciate that tall bridge in NO. No way would water get to the top of that. We have water like that at our lakes in the spring and the docks and everything get under water but omg. No way would I drive on that.

Now on to the dream wedding. I'm getting my invites out to all my Dis friends. So as soon as the money starts coming in I'll get it booked. You all better hurry with the money tho. I don't want anybody to beat me to it. I can take personal checks with 2 forms of ID and credit cards. ( I got that account all set up)

Great updates on the splash mountain ride - I love it but always get a little nervous, probably because I don't want to get soaked! It is a great ride though, glad Hunter had the courage to take the ride. Sorry that Lacey is dealing with that while at Disney - there should be some rule against that!

The Ten Commandments were amazing - he did a great job! Glad the teacher liked them also...

The Sams offer is great - I am surprised that it is on their website as something they sale. But I guess nothing should surprise me since Walmart is now selling coffins ~ crazy stuff!

Okay the river needs to settle down ~ that would make me a nervous wreck especially working so close to it. Hopefully it will start receding but I guess time will tell.

Waiting for more on the trip - we head back to the world in 37 days and I can't wait ~ your report is getting me pumped about my trip! I'm already thinking about what all I am going to pack!

My wife thought it was very cool. I'm not showing it to my oldest daughter it will give her ideas I cannot afford. :scared1:

Thank You all for your kind responses to my Dad. Our trip cannot come soon enough.:dance3:

Thanks, Brian

I always told Lacey that she should have a princess wedding. Thank goodness she always told me that she didn't want one.

I hope that you and your family have a great time planning the trip. All of you need something magical to take your mind off of the sad times.

Yes, I did see your Christmas list  I was thinking about Gwendolyn & Joe the entire time
I always wondered what the ball park of something would be...just don't know if I want my reception in the float barn :lmao:

Congrats! to Hunter on a job well Done!! :yay:

great pictures!! hope the water starts to go down sooner or later!! I'll have to ask Danny about the river down here....:rolleyes2

Lacey's always said she wants a simple wedding. She wants a dress that she can wear flip flops (nice ones of course) with or even go barefoot. She wants her flowers to be something like daisies and wants her candles to be in Mason jars. This is my kind of wedding!

Hunter hasn't gotten his grade on The Ten Commandments yet. I can't wait to see what he gets.

The river is actually still rising. The flood walls are all up now.

I saw the post too :p. I just had to chuckle that it was offered at Sam's Club. Makes me wonder how in the world they came into that as inventory... some bigwig make plans and then things fell apart? It's not something you'd typicially (especially as detailed as it is) find.

Sam's Club has always had a travel company and I've actually priced out a few vacations through them. I was very surprised to see the Disney wedding though.

I want it.

Don is getting my that so we can renew our vows for our 42 wedding anniversary. Of course all my friends can come. No gifts necessary just bring money so we can pay for the darn thing. (that is more than we paid for our house)

I wish they would allow us to do one of those mass weddings where there are about 100 couples. Then, all of us Dis friends to pitch in and have one big ole Disney wedding.

Oh my goodness!!! $200,000 for a wedding... A girl can dream can't she!

It's definitely in the "dream" department.

I'm not much of a fan of the big drop on splash either, When I did it this summer I actually took my glasses off going up the last hill as 1 I wanted to keep them dry and two I just didn't feel like seeing the drop. Also what gets you wet going up the lift hill beside the drop isn't the splash from the boats going down the big drop it's actually sprayed from water pumps at you.

Years ago, you didnt' get but just a drop or two of water on you. Now, you can get soaked. I wish they'd go back to just a little water.

Love the Updates!!:thumbsup2

Hunter likes all the parts of Splash Mountain except the last drop. Just hates it.

Thankfully, Hunter doesn't have a problem riding Haunted Mansion. He takes it all in stride because he knows it is all fake. Maybe one day Nick will decide he wants to ride Haunted Mansion.

Hunter has worn his Splash Mountain to school several times and gets compliments on it each time. I'm not big on tie dyed shirts but this one is cool.

I wouldn't mind the Disney wedding either. But, for $198,000.00, I bet I could put together a great vow renewal AND reception AND extended trip to Disney.

Being the mother of two girls and two weddings it could be expensive. We were very fortunate in that department. Sandi and Tim got married in a little chapel in St. Louis. The fee was $200. We ordered a cake from Sam's and I picked up food trays. We went back to their apartment for a reception. There were probably 25 people. Cheapo. She got her dress on clearance at Sears for $45.

Sheri and Mike got married at a little outdoor place here. There was the 5 of them, Don and I and another couple. I paid $150 and that included refreshments. She got her dress on sale at Dillards for $35.00.

I love my girls.

I'm anxious to hear of Hunter's grade. He did a really good job for sure. There was no way that looked pre-bought. Very handy he is. (I'm in Yoda land again, time to go)

Have a great day. Still sunshine.

wow that could be very scray that much water.

Stay safe and dry, Lisa!!!

The river is still rising. There are four bridges that cross the river.....1) the "old bridge" is the one that you see in the "looking to the right" pictures; 2) the interstate bridge is the one that you see in some of my "looking to the left" pictures; 3) the railroad bridge that I have posted pictures of; and, 4) the Louisville bridge which you can't see in the pictures. They are talking about shutting down all of the bridges with the exception of the interstate bridge. The water is so very close to the end of each of the bridges. If the river reaches 50 feet, they will have no choice but to close them all.

Yesterday, the river was at 46.7 feet which is over 6 feet above flood stage. They are predicting that it will be 48.5 feet by this time next week.
Our river has a lot of commercial barge traffic and all of that has been halted.

Some areas are so flooded that the electricity has been disconnected because water had gotten close to the power lines and meter boxes.

Part of my drive to work is down a road alongsidethe levee on the West Monroe side. It was really really weird to see the tops of boats over the levee. Normally, you can't even see the boats.

I took pictures yesterday but it was so busy at the office that I didnt' have time to upload them to Photobucket. Maybe, I can get them done some time today.

I also need to get another trip report installment posted. Work is just getting in my way right now.

First of all, how are you feeling? I know that you've been feeling a bit under the weather lately.

Second, you lucked up on the price of your two girls' weddings. Lacey doesn't like a bunch of foo-foo girly girl stuff. Hopefully, that won't change by the time she stops long enough to get married. My sisters have more talent in their little fingers than I do in my entire body. They could help put together a wedding in no time at all.

I got several pages behind again!
Wow! is all I can say about that water. It really is rising.
Love the 10 Commandments.
Ok, what kind of school does Hunter go to? I only ask because most public scholos don't allow religious type stuff. I went to 12 years fo Catholic school, Michael went for 3rd -5th grades to Catholic school, and Paige went from K to 5th grade. Claire is in the preschool there now. So religion in school was normal for me, but I know so many that don't allow it at all.
The story of Moses was always one of my favorites. I also love the movies and miniseries they have put out over the years.

My SIL worked in a flower shop for years so she did bouquets for them. My sis is so talented and used to do all that stuff till the mental illness hit her. She can't do anything like that anymore. I got no talent. Can't sing, can't dance, can't decorate. I can talk. At least I know my limits.:rotfl2:

Would you believe I have the very sorest throat ever? Woke up with it this morning. I have concluded my body is rejecting the sunshine. It is to be mid 70's and sunny all weekend. I only missed Monday tho. That has been the only day I've missed since last September so that's not too bad. Of course I'm off next Wed and Thurs. for my testing. It will be nice to be home and feel like doing something. I'll just be radioactive so I can't come to work.

This too shall pass.

Ginny:sunny:

Let's see......where was I? Oh, yeah, 1) we had gotten soaked on Splash Mountain; 2) John and Hunter had ridden Big Thunder Mountain; 3) Lacey wasn't feeling so hot so she went back to the CBR; 4) We had taken Hunter's picture with the Liberty Bell.

We took the path from Liberty Square to Adventureland and made the semi-circle to Main Street. I had to stop and take pictures of the castle. I took tons of them trying to get a good shot. These are the best of them. Not nearly as good as some I have seen posted.

100_2801.jpg

100_2802.jpg

100_2808.jpg

After taking more than a dozen or so pictures, we continued our walk around until we were in front of the castle.

100_2815.jpg

I had read something about the kiss goodnight but didn't really know what I was looking for. Should have read more about it, I guess. In all of my trips to Disney World, I've never stopped long enough to look at the statues.

100_2817.jpg

100_2818.jpg

Hunter standing in front of the large statue:

100_2820.jpg

John's cell phone rang and it was Lacey, she had just gotten off the bus at the CBR. I continued taking pictures while John talked to her.

100_2821.jpg

I have no idea why Hunter was doing this but I'll chalk it up to it being about 2:00 a.m.!

100_2822.jpg

100_2823.jpg

100_2824.jpg

100_2825.jpg

John said Lacey was going to bed and that he had told her we were working out way to the bus station. As we walked away, I stopped and took even more pictures.

100_2827.jpg

100_2828.jpg

One of Main Street:

100_2833.jpg

Ummmm...another castle picture. I am such a picture dork-a-rama:

100_2834.jpg

As we walked down Main Street, I told Hunter to stand by the wooden Indian so I could take a picture. He is pretending that he's trying to snitch the Indian's weapon.

100_2837.jpg

This is me trying to take a picture of my watch to show that it's nearly 2:00 a.m. My eyes (and apparently my camera) were getting blurry at this point in time!

100_2838.jpg

We finally made our way to the bus station where we were lucky enough to have a CBR bus pull up about 5 minutes after we got there. In no time at all, we were being dropped off at the Old Port Royale bus stop and staggering our way to our room.

Next installment: Hollywood Studios!

The water is still rising. I really need to post my most recent pictures for you guys. Now that the flood wall is up, I can't get close enough to take pictures.

Hunter goes to public school now. He went to a private Christian school up until last year.

I was surprised that the school was teaching religion but they are in their Social Studies class. Last night, he was reading about Buddism (that's probably spelled wrong).

One of my sisters actually used to make patterns and sell them in a store in Branson. She's also written a book. She's worked in a flower shop. She's a walking talking encyclopedia.

The other sister is an event coordinator for the city. She does all of the decorating for the Mayor, the City Hall, the Judge's...well, any of the City owned businesses. She once had a schizophrenic Christmas tree at her house because she couldn't decide how she wanted to decorate it. One side was decorated one way and the other side was decorated another way.

I am so very sorry that you are still feeling yucky. I know that you brought something for your throat...didn't you. If not, just gargle with warm salt water. That always seems to help.

You sound like me in the missing work department. Have only missed one day since I started working here and that was a half day to take Mama home from the hospital.

We all have you in our prayers. I PROCLAIM that your testing will come out great!

You do have talented sisters. You are pretty crafty your ownself. I think you could whip up something if needed. I have lots of respect for people who can work with their hands. To have the inner knowledge to figure that stuff out is amazing.

I am doing warm salt water. My fav but it works really well. Thanks for that Proclaimation. I am in complete agreement with you. I feel I have no residual at all and things are fine. I will remain fine just to spite my mother.
My way of getting back at her without hurting her in any way.

Yeah...I'm crafty alright. Just not too crafty with the hands.:lmao:

Make sure you continue the salt water. It always seems to help us when we have sore throats. You know if you proclaim something, He will listen!
