Stop Making Me Laugh Or I'll Pee My Pants! Go Back! I Lost My Shoe! Trip Report!

Morning to all my Dis friends!

I just have a minute but wanted to let you guys know that the rest of Lacey's test results have come back fine. No H1N1, anemia, mono, low blood sugar or anything else they tested for.

She probably had some kind of virus along with being super tired and not eating well after a week doing their conferences and volunteer work. She comes in contact with so many people going to college, working in the homeless shelter, helping with children's church, etc. so that's probably where she caught the virus.

She has an appointment to see a cardiologist to read the test results of the EKG just to confirm that the sinus arrythmia is not life threatening. If the cardiologist doesn't see the need for more tests, the cost of the appointment will be around $300.00 which isn't too bad. Several couples at the church have volunteered to pay the cardiologist bill. At first, I told her absolutely not. We are not broke and can afford to pay it ourselves. However, Lacey said that she had volunteered to help some of these people move, babysat, took them food when they were sick, etc. and they said this was just a repayment. I'm still not sure how I feel about it though.

The people at Lacey's church have given her a new nickname.....Flutter...in honor of her fluttering little heart.

I thank you all so very much for your prayers. I ask that you please continue to pray for her until she sees the cardiologist.

I'm not sure if I have posted on here or not, but I started following your thread because we wanted to stay at CBR and I didn't know that much about it.

Now I am hooked and look forward to your updates and tidbits about your family life. I feel a kinship because I have been on a few mission trips.

So glad to hear that Lacey is doing better! I will continue to pray for her and you all. BTW, I agree with a pp - letting people help out when you have a problem (by paying the bill) allows them to feel useful. When someone you love/respect goes thru a struggle it's nice to be able to help in a tangible way.

Good morning to everybody!

I wanted to thank each and every one of you for the thoughts and prayers for Lacey. They mean the world to me and to her.

As you can all imagine, I was extremely relieved that the test results came back and all were negative/good. Now, we just have to hold out until she goes to the cardiologist. After talking with several family members, it seems that irregular heartbeats/arrythmia runs in the family on both my side and John's. We're all still alive and kicking with the exception of my Dad and he didn't die from just heart problems.

I'm feeling a little better about the church members kicking in to pay for Lacey's cardiologist appointment. We've prayed about it and thought about it a lot. I simply don't want someone to ever ever think that I don't want to pay or that I don't have the money to pay for my child's medical bills. We have been blessed and have the money to do it....thank God.

I've always been one of the first people to put together fundraisers, assemble clothing for people whose homes were destroyed by weather or fire, adopt a family at Christmas, etc. I know what joy I feel at doing those things so maybe it's time to be on the receiving end. I've not decided for sure yet but I'm feeling better about it.

Again, thanks to all of my dear Dis friends both old and new!

I hope to get an installment up today. Hang in there....I will be back!

Our last day in the Disney parks is always a sad one but at least we spend it at the Magic Kingdom.....The most magical place on Earth!

Our idea for the day was to just take it easy, eat dinner with Pooh and friends at the Crystal Palace, watch the SpectroMagic parade and watch Wishes for the last time this trip.

Even though we were starting to feel the wear and tear from a 10 day Disney World vacation, we were able to get up pretty early and were at the bus stop about 9:00 a.m. It was a little later than I wanted and I knew we would miss the opening ceremony but, like I said, our goal was to take it easy today.

As was the case for our entire stay, the bus came pretty quickly and we were on our way to the Magic Kingdom. Our bus driver was nice and dropped us off as close to the park entrance as possible and we hit the pavement with a lively step.

Because we had gotten rain the day before, I packed up the ponchos and brought a backpack to the park that day. Meaning, I had to go through the security line while the rest of my gang walked right on up to the turnstiles.

I can't remember if this was the Magic Kingdom day or our first Magic Kingdom day when I was in line behind a lady in the security line who tried to take in a humongous screwdriver.:confused3 Security was trying to tell her that she couldn't take the screwdriver into the park and she kept asking why not. They told her that she wasn't allowed to take it in, that they could put it in a bag and leave it with Guest Relations for her to pick up at the end of the day. She got all upset and told them to just forget it and keep it. I never could figure out why she wanted to take in a screwdriver that was at least 10 inches long. The only thing I could think of was she was using it as a weapon in case she got mugged or something. But, if that was the case, she could have just said so. They still would have confiscated it but that would have at least explained why she had it.

Anyway, I met up with the rest of my family who were hanging back waiting on me. I told them the screwdriver lady story and they were just as confused as I was.

I spotted a Photopass photographer and told everybody that we had to get another picture taken. I wanted to get my money's worth.;) We approached the Photopass lady and she told us where to stand. Just as she was telling us, a lady brought her little girl up and sat her right next to us. The Photopass photographer asked the other lady if she would mind waiting just a minute so she could get our picture. The other lady got all ticked off and mumbled something under her breath. I told the Photopass photographer to just let the other lady take the picture and then take our's so we moved out of the way.

While we waited, we chatted with the Photopass photographer and asked her how many rude guests she encountered every day and she said you wouldn't believe how many. Don't people know they are in Walt Disney World? Who wants to be rude in Walt Disney World?

While standing there a lady in a scooter came by and missed hitting John by, I am not lying, about two inches! For those of you who read my 2008 trip report, you may recall that John had a little drive by scooter incident that year and a lady actually ran over his foot on a scooter and broke his toe. All without ever stopping and saying "I'm sorry." The Photopass photographer told us that one of their Photopass photographer had been run over by a scooter earlier that week and her leg had been broken.

Finally, the lady finished taking pictures of her daughter and we took our places. A couple of Photopass pictures:

Once we had our pictures done, we thanked the Photopass photographer and made our way under the train station and into the park. I just love that feeling I get when I walk into a Disney park. It makes my tummy all tingly. Oops, did I say that outloud? Heck, since I've already said it, I might as well admit it.

Since we headed to the left on our first Magic Kingdom day, we decided to go to the right this day.

**Having issues with Photobucket. It's froze. Be back in a minute.

Back....had to shut down Photobucket and open it back up. :confused3

I forgot that I took this picture while we were waiting to get our picture made:

We walked down Main Street and I, of course, was taking pictures:

We saw a little cart set up where a castmember cuts out your silhouette by hand and then mounts them for you. When I was little, my mother used to do this and also traced our hands. She still has them. I told John that I wanted to stop and see how much it cost. I was really surprised! If I am remembering correctly, we paid about $50.00 for four silhouettes in frames. Not a bad deal at all. The castmember was working on another person's silhouette and we told her we would wait.

While we waited, we looked down the little side street and in the windows of the shops. We saw this in one window. Notice the cost in the second picture.:scared1:

It was soon our turn. We chose to have the two kids in one frame and then John and I in the other. Here's the castmember cutting out Hunter's silhouette:

You know me, I can't just sit and wait. I had to take a picture. Look how windy it was:

John told Lacey it was about to be her turn and since she was wearing a cap, she told her daddy she would have to toss her hair like a model to get it all flowy. That silly girl!

More, random "I'm still waiting on my turn pictures"...

Once we had the silhouettes done and paid for, the castmember told us we would leave our purchase there and then come back and pick it up any time before the park closed. They don't send their packages to package pickup because they are afraid they would be broken.

I wish I had a picture to show you of the silhouettes. The castmember's work was amazing and it was a great souvenir to have from our trip.

**I need to stop here. I know the update was short but at least it's a little something.:thumbsup2

That seems like a fun souvie to have...I would have thought it was alot more than $50 I may just have to have Ashton's done...if the older two are with us I of course will add them.

Great update, Lisa! :thumbsup2 I love your MK photos. The photopass pics came out really nice!

Hi Lisa! Sorry I've been mia, for obvious reasons I don't get much time for the computer these days! LOL! I am so far behind on all my threads I'm subscribed to! I decided to try and catch up on everything! I started with yours! I had to go all the back to when you went to Cirque! LOL! Lots of great updates I missed! Sorry to hear about Lacey! Hope everything turns out ok! I will be thinking of her and keeping her in my prayers! Hope all is well with you and the rest of the family! Now I have to start reading your pre-trip report! And of course catching up with others! LOL!!

I am not sure but I think she got them from the paint department at Home Depot..they have a Disney paint and I think those are the color samples..

I hope Lacey is doing well.
Thats very strange about the screwdriver lady:confused3

I can't believe John almost got run over again and I realy can't believe a cast member got run over and had their leg broken:sad2: How rude of that lady to just come up and put her daughter in your picture.

I watched the silhouette lady for a few minutes last year I would love to have one of River to hang in my room. Can you take a picture of yours and show us? I'd love to have the time to spend half a day doing nothing but main street there is so much there I haven't seen yet. I always feel so rushed to get to the rides and characters.

Can't wait to hear more!

A 10-inch screw driver? People really are strange sometimes.

On one of our trips, I was recovering from a torn achielies (sp?) tendon and was so afraid someone in one of those carts would run into my heel. I had DH walking close behind me in the crowds protecting my heel. My hero!

I had one of those silos done one year of my DGS and I was kind of disappointed. His looked just like all the other kids she had done. It really depends on who you get. My advice is to watch them before getting yours done. There is also another silo artist over near the Hall of Presidents somewhere. If you get a good artist, they really are pretty great.

I just started reading your trip report. (I know, I'm a little behind :) ). I just thought I would let you know that around page 48 or so, you exceeded your bandwith with Photobucket so none of your photos are showing.

You possibly already know this since I didn't read through every page yet but, I really do miss seeing your pictures. You have an eye for the little details that most people miss.

All the pictures have been coming through fine for me.

She has a couple of photobucket accounts, so one gets close she goes to another on to hopefully avoid that, but it does happen.

Now maybe I'm weird, but I always carry at least a 12 inch screwdriver with me to the parks. You nevr know when you need to fix a ride? right? :rotfl2:

So very glad that you decided to come over for a read! I think you'll love the CBR. We certainly do.

The Mickey heads came from the paint department at Home Depot. They come in all sorts of colors. The lime green ones are used by a lot of Disers. I made a luggage tag with one and put it on my park bag.

You were right. I love getting the Mickey paint samples from Home Depot.

I hope Lacey is doing well.

Lacey's feeling a lot better especially since it now seems like the arrythmia isn't something life threatening. One doctor down...just one more to go.

The screwdriver carrying lady was a bit odd to me and the others around her.

You better believe that John was jumping out of the way when the scooter lady nearly hit him. He said it brought back memories of our 2008 trip and his broken toe.

I'll take a picture of our two silhouettes and post them for you guys. They are really neat and a fairly cheap souvenir.

I just couldn't wrap my head around why the lady would want to bring a screwdriver into the parks. I guess she could have had it for protection but why didn't she just tell them that?

I have no problems with people on scooters unless they get too wild on them. Unfortunately, we met a few wild ones.

I hate that your silhouette didn't turn out too well. The lady who did our's was amazing!
