Stop Making Me Laugh Or I'll Pee My Pants! Go Back! I Lost My Shoe! Trip Report!

At one time both my older kids went to Catholic School and wore uniforms...of white shirts and dark pants. Both of them are slobs! I didn't care though. I wasn;t going to buy a bunch of new shirts every few weeks. LOL! I washed the best I could and then they had to wear it.

I would take your car in have it looked at to be sure. You never know and you don;t want a problem to show up in 2 months (Or on your way to Disney)

When Lacey attended private school, for two years, they had uniforms. Khaki pants/shorts and either red or green shirts. I could handle those pretty well. I don't like the white shirts at all!

The car is running just fine and dandy. Thank goodness!

DS 8 wears his white polo's and navy pants everyday to catholic school-what are they thinking? EVERY day he comes home with juice or chocolate milk down the front.....sometimes I cannot even tell what is on the shirt!!!

I don't understand who in the world comes up with the idea of having school uniforms with white shirts. I guess they think you can just bleach then and be done with it.

Wow I'm caught back up. I had dropped off for a few months. :)

I wondered where you were! Hope that you were just busy. Glad that you're back!

This is an awesome trip report! I am going in 11 days and its my first stay at the CBR! its my best friends 21st birthday (she is from CT and Im from MA) so were meeting there and I have a few surprises for her. One being that we are not staying at the Pop Century but the CBR! We are also eating at alot of the same restaurants that you did and they look and sound awesome!

Looks like you had an awesome time!

I bet you are about to burst at the seams. I know I would be if I were going to be at Walt Disney World in a week! How cool is it that you are surprising your friend! I hope that you'll come back with lots and lots of pictures and start writing a trip report.

I believe when I last left off, we had just eaten at Chef Mickey's. As I said, we were disappointed in the food and the restaurant itself. Oh well, live and learn.

We still had plenty of time before Cirque du Soliel was to start but we wanted to try and get there a little early because last time we went, they had a couple of performers walking around the theater doing little skits.

We found our way down to the bus stop and had a seat. There were about a dozen other people there. The bus stop reminded me of a school drop off area. It was long and covered and had a few metal benches. It was open in the front (of course) and opened on the back. It started sprinkling a little and every once in a while, we could feel droplets of water on our backs. Great! We didn't bring any umbrellas meaning we'd be getting wet on our walk over to Cirque du Soliel unless it stopped raining.:headache:

We had been at the stop about 15 minutes and not one bus had come yet. Not one! Another 10 minutes pass and a bus pulls up but it's a Hollywood Studios bus. Not the one we needed. Another fifteen minutes pass and by this time, there are quite a few people waiting for a bus. Let me rephrase that.....there were quite a few snotty people there waiting for a bus. I know that they were bored and ready to get to their destination too but, they would walk back and forth in front of us and several times they, literally, bumped into our legs and didn't say so much as an excuse me. And, they were smoking all up and down the walkway which I thought was ruder than rude. John was ready to throw his foot out and trip the next person when a Downtown Disney bus pulled up.

Our total wait time for the DTD bus to arrive? 48 minutes! I was about to have a fit! Who in the world would have thought it would take nearly an hour for a bus to come? The snotty knee/leg bumping people made sure they were the first people on the bus of course.

By this time, I am pissed. Pissed that our meal was crappy. Pissed that we had to wait on a bus for so long. Pissed that I had breathed in second hand cigarette smoke. Pissed that I probably had bruises on my knee from where the rude people had kept bumping into me. Pissed that the snotty lady in the silver sequin mini-dress and stilletto heels was looking down her nose at me from across the Disney bus. Pissed that I was going to miss the Cirque pre-show. I gotta admit, I was envisioning something very very un-Disneylike at that moment and it involved cramming a stilletto right into........well, you get the drift.

I have absolutely no idea what route the bus driver took to Downtown Disney. Whatever route it was, it seemed to take forever and a day and a half. Admittedly, I was in a pretty bad mood right about then but still......

When we finally get to DTD, the bus driver yells "Downtown Disney" and opens the doors. No "Downtown Disney Marketplace...Next stop Pleasure Island". Oh crap! Does that mean this is the only stop he's making at Downtown Disney? Silver mini-dress woman and her gang are blocking the aisle and we can't get to the driver to ask if he's stopping at Pleasure Island. Everybody was talking and laughing and I knew the driver wouldn't hear me even if I yelled.

I turned to John and the kids and ask "Should we get off here?" . We were scared not to. So, get off we did and we hit the ground at a record setting pace. Cirque was set to start in just 30 minutes! I led the way through the crowds with the rest of the family bringing up the rear. When I get to McDonald's, I turned to the left and took the sidewalk on the outside. By this time, the family had caught up to me and we were all out of breath. But, there was no time to stop.

There were people everywhere! I should have been a basketball player or a football player or something similar because I had the bob and weave motion down pat. I would see an opening and I'd go through. Never once did I bump into anybody nor was I rude to anyone. Unlike others (yeah, I am talking to you Ms. Silver Sequin Mini-Dress ), I was courteous in my walking.

***Shoot! Need to stop a minute....be back

So, I'm bobbing and weaving and doing a fine job at it. Every once in a while, I turn to make sure that the rest of the family is behind me. Lacey catches up to me and says "This is the stupidest of stupid." "I know, the stupidest!" I say back. Man, do we have some verbal/communication skills or what! :lmao: Both Lacey and I stopped to let John and Hunter catch up. By this time, we have gotten to the Westside of Downtown Disney and are standing near the movie theater. Just a little more to go!

We start our quick walking pace again and finally make it to the entrance of the Cirque theater. It's 4 minutes until show time! And................

............................I gotta pee! Not a "I gotta pee but I can hold it". It's one of those "I GOTTA PEE!" moments. I toss the tickets and my bag to John and scoot into the bathroom. Thank goodness there was nobody else in the bathroom so I was in and out of there in no time flat.

The ushers at the theater said the show has just started and they showed us directly to our seats. The performers that usually come out in the crowd before the show were doing a little skit on stage. And, then, the real show began.

For any of you who have never been to see Cirque du Soliel, you have GOT to see it. In my honest opinion, that is the very best money that I have ever ever ever spent at Disney World. There are no words to describe it but I'll try. MAGNIFICIENT! FANTASTIC! OUT OF THIS WORLD! OUTSTANDING! BREATHTAKING! ENTERTAINING! JAW DROPPING!

Our seats in Category 2 were fantastic! I actually don't think I'd want to sit in the Category 1 seating. They are on the lower level and a lot of what the performers do is in the air so you'd constantly be leaning back to see them. From our seats, we could see everything. The first time we saw Cirque a few years back, we also had Category 2 seating and our seats were great.

Here's a link to the Cirque video on the Disney World website:

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/destinations/downtown-disney/entertainment/cirque-du-soleil/

It seems like before we knew it the show was over. Worth every hard earned cent we paid (nearly $300.00) to see it! Every time I think about the show, I think okay, the little girls are my favorite. Then, I say, no the guy with the ribbons are my favorite. I think a little longer and say, the people doing the trampoline are. In actuality, everything about the show is my favorite. Simply everything. Oh, and the music is outstanding.....all live!

Sorry, no pictures of Cirque....no cameras are allowed.

We wanted to look in the store at the theater entrance just to see what they had. Lacey still had a couple hundred dollars left from her garage sale earnings and was ready to spend some of it. She found a red Cirque purse and a yellow Cirque purse. One was $60.00 and one was $70.00. That's a pretty doggone expensive purse. At least it is for us. But, she had saved that money for something that she really wanted and a purse was what she really wanted. She dilly dallied and finally decided on the yellow one which was, of course, the more expensive of the two. She paid and we were on our way to the bus stop at Pleasure Island.

I tried taking a few pictures as we walked and all I can find are these and a few of them turned out bad...really bad.....but I'm putting them in any way because I feel awful that I didn't have pictures in this installment.

On our anniversary day, Hunter had stopped in the magic store because he wanted to buy a levitating ball but they said they were on order. They also said they could come in any day. Since we were passing the magic store anyway, we popped in to see if the levitating ball had arrived. Nope! Hunter was bummed! We got one of their merchandise flyers and told Hunter that we'd see about ordering one from their online store.

Because we had rushed on our way to Cirque, we walked to the bus stop at a nice leisurely pace and talked about how good Cirque was. Once we made it to the bus stop, we were confused. The line things at Downtown Disney Pleasure Island stop are stupid. The stupidest of stupid. The signs and the stops themselves don't line up so you can't really tell if you are standing in the correct line or not. Anyway, we stood where we thought we were supposed to and, thankfully, when the bus pulled up about 10 minutes later, we were in the right spot.

Soon, we were on our way back to the CBR. What did we do next? I seriously don't remember. I have found some Downtown Disney pictures, Epcot pictures and Magic Kingdom pictures. I know the Magic Kingdom was our last day. But, I can't remember if we went to Downtown Disney next or Epcot. I'm soooooooo confused!:sad2:

Ugh! I hate having to rush somewhere! We did the exact same thing on our first trip....we took the boat from POR to DTD and it drops you at the Marketplace. We RAN all the way to Wolfgang Puck for our ADR....not fun!

I'm so glad you enjoyed Cirque! Sounds like fun, but we always hesitate to spend the extra money. Maybe someday!

A purse is a great purchase...a girl can never have too many bags! :thumbsup2

Great update Lisa. I had a wait like that at GF to go to AK last year. It was ridiculous. My parents went to La Nouba last year and loved it too. Some day when I win that lottery...I'm gonna do all these things I want to do. and stay as long as I want.

I got some not so great news today.. I have not been to the dentist in 2 years...bad I know...and last time they told me I had a start of a cavity, but I just didn't want to fork out $300 to get it filled as it was near Christmas. So I waited...and just kind of forgot. Right before Christmas this year, I felt a peice of tooth come out, and looked to see a hole in that dang tooth I never got taken care.
I went to the Dentist today (trying a new one as ours retired), and I need a dang root canal, along with some other work. The root canal and cap is $2000! :scared1: The other work will come to about 7-800. Guess what? If we went to Disney, the trip would've been about $2000, plus 7-800 for airfare. Don't that just make you mega mad! Needless to say, I have been doing a bunch of crying today. I know for sure there will be NO trip this year (which I was hoping we could try for later in the year). And I am so sick of my stupid mouth. I try to take care if it...so much better than DH. I have over $10,000 in my dang mouth in the last 7 years. I had a root canal, and cap, two teeth pulled, braces, 2 bridges, bonding of my front teeth together after the braces, and a few cavities here and there. So not to get this taken car of would make that $10,000 be a waste.
My dang DH has never had a cavity, and he doesn;t floss or anything. Makes me so dang mad!

Ok, I just had to vent! Thanks!

That sounds like a very stressfull trip to Cirque. I can just picture your family racing to get to the show on time. We always use our car when we're there I don't like being smooshed on bus with a bunch of sweaty people. I'm glad you loved the show (and made it there)! I've never been to the magic shop is it good? River loves magic so maybe we'll check it out this year. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Wow, Lisa!! Sorry that you had to wait so long for a DTD bus!! That's crazy...almost an hour for a bus to show up!!:sad2: It's a good thing that you had allowed plenty of time after Chef Mickey's. That would have been horrible if you had missed Cirque because of it.

Last year, we had the same problem with having to wait soooooo long for a DTD bus to show up. Someone actually called to find out where all the DTD buses were because they sure weren't at Pop!!! It was very frustrating--so I know how you must have been feeling!

But...I am so glad that you enjoyed Cirque du Soleil!!:thumbsup2 It sounds like such a fun show!! I've heard so many positive things about it!!! I'm sure it was just what you needed after having such a horrible night!!:goodvibes

That is SUCH a long wait for a bus!!! I would have lost it with those rude people. I never understood the whole high heels at Disney thing. I see people walking around the parks with shoes like that all of the time! I wonder if they just don’t feel pain or what. Don’t get me wrong- I love shoes & I will wear a fancy pair to California Grill or Artist Point- but for walking around the parks & DtD, I am in the most comfortable shoes I can find! You know, I am not sure if the buses stop at West Side. I have always been afraid to stay on & see if they stop there, too. Lisa- your description of Cirque makes me want to see the show! I have never been before. I’m glad you have another trip coming semi-soon & have a PTR. I love your reports!

I just hate rushing. It's just too stressful!

Next time you go to Disney World, keep Cirque in mind and save those pennies and dimes. It's worth every red cent!

The wait was absolutely ridiculous! All I could think of is these people are paying out the behind for a nice resort and they have the worst bus service.

Oh man! I'm sorry to hear about our stupid tooth! I have very bad luck with my teeth too. Probably have just as much money in my mouth as you do. I always say I wish we were all bald and had no teeth (just dentures). That way, we wouldn't have to worry about our hair or our teeth.:thumbsup2

I was so stressed out by the time we got to the Cirque theater. Not to mention out of breath.

The magic shop is really small but the guys in there do illusions for the patrons. Hunter was in high heaven.

I couldn't believe it too that long for a bus to come! I was about to have a mini-breakdown right in front of the Contemporary. Like you said, thank goodness we allowed plenty of time.

Cirque is simply spectacular! I am actually trying to see if I can work it into our plans for our upcoming trip but I just don't see how I can do it.

The lady in the silver sequin dress was so snotty! She and the people with her were, obviously, going out for a night on the town but I still wouldn't be wearing stilettos at Disney World. Give me a pair of tennis shoes, sandals or flip flops and I'm a happy girl.

There are only two stops at DTD....Marketplace and Pleasure Island. That was one of the reasons Lacey and I said this was the "stupidest of stupid".

You really really need to see Cirque. Just watching the video shows how great it is!

Good morning everybody! I've been going through my pictures trying to figure out what we did next. Once I got the new camera (and even when I had my old one and the batteries kept dying), my pictures didn't have dates on them. So, I'm still wondering where in the world the Downtown Disney pictures fit in. Give me a little time and I'll be back to post another installment.

As you know, I've been away a couple of days and trying to catch up on everything. That is an awfully long time to wait for a bus. This is why Mark and I rent a car when we arrive in Orlando and drive to all the parks and to Downtown Disney. I don't like buses (used to take them all the time in Chicago for high school and work) and just like the convenience of having a car (and since we are early risers and at the parks for rope drop we park real close up front and don't have to take the tram or anything).

I was laughing because I can picture you and your family running and bobing and weaving between people but never touching them!!!LOL:rotfl2:

I wondered where you were! Hope that you were just busy. Glad that you're back!

.

Yes, just been really busy. We had our trip to disney, then the holidays, and my sister in law is pregnant (1st on both sides of the family ours & hers) and due next month.

I'm coming back in a little while to respond to the posts. Right now, I'm trying to sneak-type a trip installment while the boss has a client with him. Don't anybody say anything to my boss!

When I last left off, we had just seen the amazing Cirque du Soliel show and had taken the bus back to the Caribbean Beach Resort. I think I mentioned a post or two or three back that I can't figure out what we did next. I'm looking at my pictures and think I may have it figured out. Then again, I may not. But, we are going to sit back and pretend/say that this is what we did the next day at Disney because I really really do think it is.

We decided to go to Downtown Disney to do a little shopping before going to Epcot later in the day. We had seen a lot of Epcot on our first full day but still wanted to go back and see the stuff we missed and we had an ADR for dinner at Coral Reef.

WAIT! WAIT! WAIT! I remember! I remember! :dance3:

We had promised Hunter that we'd go back to Downtown Disney and let him buy the R2 D2 robot that cost $129.00 if he hadn't spent all of his money by the end of our vacation. He still had $200.00 left and wanted to buy the robot.

Lacey is the "apartment mama" for her Mission group and they were supposed to be getting a couple of new girl students. Since Lacey was going to be late coming back to school, she wanted to talk with the girls on the phone and do a pre-welcoming talk, etc. So, she stayed behind at the resort while we went to Downtown Disney.

Gotta stop a minute and say it feels so good to finally remember what we did. I was thinking that the 44 year old "why do I keep forgetting things?" syndrome was settin' in.

Okay, moving on:

John, Hunter and I took the bus to Downtown Disney and got off at the Marketplace bus stop. We hadn't even gotten down the walkway good when John got a phone call from the same guy that had called us on our first Epcot day. John had done a large cabinet job on a house this guy was remodeling and, since he still owed us half of the money, John felt like he needed to take the call even if we were on vacation.

Here's John over to the side and putting his cell phone back in his pocket:

Hunter and I meandered around and took a few pictures while waiting on John:

John finally got off the phone and we headed straight to Once Upon A Toy:

SANY0082.jpg

Had to stop and take a pic before going in:

SANY0083.jpg

We found the R2 D2 immediately and John and Hunter went to stand in line to pay for it. The lady behind the counter was probably in her late 60s and she actually tried to talk Hunter out of buying the robot. She kept asking him if he knew how much the robot cost and whether or not he really wanted to spend that much money. Obviously, the lady wasn't working on commission. Hunter assured her he knew how much R2 cost and that he wanted to buy it. He even told her he had been saving all year for it.

I took a few pictures while John and Hunter were in line:

Continued in next post

We left the store and started back towards the pathway to the bus stop. I took this picture as we walked:

SANY0092.jpg

We saw a vendor set up and stopped to see what kind of stuff they had. They had all sorts of keychains, antennae toppers, pins and then these big buttons/paperweight things that had different Disney characters on them and when you pushed them, they said something. One had a Mickey face on it and it said "Oh Boy!". The other had Scar on it and it said "I'm surrounded by idiots!" and the last one had the Queen of Hearts on it and it said "Off with their heads!". My boss is always saying "he's such an idiot". That's one of his favorite sayings so I bought one of the Scar buttons for him.

I stuck the package in my purse and then we walked over to the Christmas store. John and I wandered while Hunter sat and watched a television in the corner. Notice he wasn't letting go of his bag:

SANY0095.jpg

I don't know about ya'll but if my pocketbook runneth over I'd buy one of everything in the Christmas store.

I left the store without purchasing one single thing. I couldn't believe it. We walked back over to the bus stop and were lucky that a bus pulled up very soon after we got there. We got off at the Old Port Royale bus stop again since it's actually closer to our room than the Martinique stop. I took these two pictures on the walk back to our room:

**Up next: Day 2 of Epcot!

Aaahhhhh....shopping at DTD! So fun!

Good for Hunter for saving his money for something he really wanted. He needs to rub off on Isaiah a bit...that boy LOVES to spend!

I love love love the wall of Mickey and Minnie plush...so cute! That just made me smile! :)
