Stop Making Me Laugh Or I'll Pee My Pants! Go Back! I Lost My Shoe! Trip Report!

Hey, Lisa! I just got through reading your Wal-Mart ordeal- you have the patience of a saint!!!! I think I may have lost it in that situation. What kind of camera did you end up getting?
I also wanted to say- your tree looks great! I love all of the decorations, too.
I'm going to read on through the next couple of pages now. :)

I don't know if I was just deliriously tired or what. I was probably just too tired to complain. I ended up buying a Sanyo VPC-T1284 (12 megapixels/4x optical). Don't think I remembered all that 'cause I didn't. I had my camera in my purse.

Thanks for the comlpliment on my decorations. I didn't go all out this year. I sold most of my old decorations in the garage sale this Summer. I wanted to buy new ones but never got around to it.

That place in Branson looks awesome!!! You are so great at writing trip reports. I'm looking forward to more!

We had a good time in Branson. It was nice to get away and spend time with our family.

I got 4 pages behind!!! :scared1: Love your updates. Branson looks really fun. Those waterparks are usually hot like that, but when you come out of the water it never feels that warm...at least to me. LOL!

Don't worry about getting behind....I get behind in all of my subscribed reports. Branson is a fun place to visit. I wouldn't want to spend my entire vacation there though. It can really add up!

I don't remember the water park building being quite so hot the last time we went. It probably felt hotter than usual since it was so cold out.

Good morning Lisa. I'm back and all caught up again. Loving the Branson update. We have a very similar indoor water park close to here and it is definitely HOT in there! Hunter looks like he had a good time!

Good for Lacey for stepping up to take over the Children's Church. That's my job at our church as well... Director of Children's Ministries. Just one more reason our families would hit it off!

I can't believer the late night Wal-Mart trip! What a good sport you are! ;)

Beautiful tree and I love the old stove....very cool! I hope you are having a wonderful Christmas season...it's so busy here, but I love this time of year.

Hunter had a fun time in the water park. There were lots of boys his age that he talked to and spent time with.

Lacey really likes leading children's church. She's like her Mama....I love kids!

The Walmart trip was a nightmare. Under normal circumstances and normal hours, I would have walked around the store and looked around some. Not this time, I was soooo ready to get out of that place and back to bed!

I didn't decorate as much as I usually do this year. But, still, I sat a few Christmas things out here and there.

Good morning friends!

I am super excited. This morning, Disney came out with a new special offer that included my travel dates. I didn't get any discounted room or package but I did get a free $500.00 gift card! All I had to do was call Disney Travel and modify my reservation.

Let me get my boss off to court and I'll be back.

I know! We usually bring along about $1,000.00 to be used for our gas and hotel (first day of driving) and other "stuff". I'm excited to know that I now have $500.00 less to save.

Totally wonderful for you. That is way exciting. Even better than room discount. Cause now you can spend it like you want.

Have a great day.

When we got back to the rooms, Mama and John were awake. Hunter dried his hair in our room while Lacey went over to Mama's room. Lacey and Mama came over so we could discuss what we could do. We were ready to go out and do something since we had a little over two hours open.

We decided to just hop in the van and start driving. We saw the Hollywood Wax Museum and Lacey said she wanted to go there. She and Hunter jumped out to ask how much it cost and how long it would take to tour the museum. Hunter took the camera and took these two pictures while they waited in line.

SANY1391.jpg

King Kong looked like he was busting through the building. In front of him, was his huge fist. You stood behind his fist and had your picture made.

Lacey came back and told us how much it cost and that it would take about 30 to 45 minutes to look through the museum. I don't remember exactly how much it was per person but it cost us over $60.00 for the four of us. Mama insisted that she pay for her own.

The lady that was running the desk was doing quadruple duty. She was taking pictures in King Kong's hand, printing the pictures, selling the pictures and then also selling tickets. I felt sorry for her. She was running around doing everything. We waited in line and then had our picture taken. One was with us standing and smiling. The other had all of us acting scared.

Once we had our picture made, she told us to go through the museum and our picture would be ready when we got through.

This guy was above us on the left. I know I am supposed to know who this is but I don't.

Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible. I thought it was a pretty good likeness but not great:

Hunter and Tom Hanks as Forest Gump:

SANY1395.jpg

Lacey and Barbara Eden as Jeannie (Is that how you spell it? I know that you spell Genie...G-E-N-I-E but I don't remember how they spelled it on the show.)

SANY1396.jpg

For those of you wondering why my kids are right in the middle of the scenes, there was actually a sign saying you could. I'm not one of "those" Mamas who allows their kids to climb over barriers.

The Marx brothers. This is where we really noticed the eyes of the wax figures. They seem to be following you.

I had seen the military deal is back out..hoping I can do some sweet talking to Danny and maybe talk him into a May trip...:rolleyes1: they are only being sold through July this year...
:wave2: Connie

Fun update on the wax museum....how cool!!! the last picture is that Maxwell Smart w/the Rock?!?

Lacey doing her best Charlie's Angels move:

We go around the corner and we see this:

SANY1408.jpg

I tried my best to talk Mama into getting onto the bed with Hugh but she declined. I did talk Lacey into doing it though. The bunny ears were there for you to put on:

SANY1409.jpg

I didn't take pictures of everything. I just took pictures of the ones that interested us. We walked up a few steps and there was a desk there. The guy asked us if we were having a nice time. We told him yes and then he asked if we were seeing any shows. I told him yes and that we already had tickets. I picked up a brochure for a magic show. He asked if we needed tickets. I told him that I didn't think we'd have time. Then, he went into some stupid spiel about how he could get us cheap tickets......5 tickets for $18.00. I told him I knew what he was going to say next...I had to tour a time share. He said it wasn't a time share, it was a local investor. I told him no thank you and walked away while he was still talking. He must pay a booth rental fee or something. I was a bit put off that the museum allowed him to stop their guests.

John had gotten ticked off that the guy had stopped me and he and Lacey were way in front of me and Mama. I had to call Hunter back so I could take his picture beside Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones.

SANY1414.jpg

SANY1415.jpg

This Marilyn Monroe didnt' look like her to me. Her face was all red and just didn't look good.

SANY1417.jpg

Now, I've never seen a Lord of the Rings movie. They hold no appeal to me. But, Lacey wanted me to take pictures because some of her Mission friends love the movie. (Lacey didn't bring her camera in.)

SANY1420.jpg

SANY1421.jpg

SANY1419.jpg

Up next was the horror movie room. You could bypass it and Hunter almost did but decided at the last minute to go. It really wasn't that bad. You had to walk down steps so it looked like you were walking into a dungeon. There were a few figures at eye level before you walked down:

SANY1422.jpg

SANY1423.jpg

Once you got down the stairs there were more monsters.

SANY1424.jpg

SANY1425.jpg

SANY1426.jpg

John and the kids absolutely love Nacho Libre. It's one of those movies that I can not make myself sit and watch. It's soooo stupid. They say that's why it's so funny.

I know I was soooo happy to get the $500.00 card! Free money!

I saw the military offer too. Do some sweet talking Connie.

Is that what that was supposed to be....Get Smart? I don't know 'cause I haven't watched it.

OH! and let us not forget the pin I received....I need to sit down and put figures to paper that will be about the only way this happens....we'll see....if I do this I will miss out on Christmas....I'm sooooo confused about what and when I want to visit Disney....:sad1:

I knew that Dana would love these since she's a race fan. See, I'm thinking of ya'll while I am on the road.

My sister has always said that John reminds her of Tommy Lee Jones in Lonesome Dove. This wasn't a Lonesome Dove set but it was Tommy Lee Jones.

SANY1432.jpg

Hunter was about to have a hissy fit when he saw The Matrix people. He loves that movie. This is him trying to do a Matrix move.

SANY1433.jpg

The next room looked like an American Idol audition room. There was music playing and silver walls and posters. The figures looked similar but I didn't like the Paula one that much.

SANY1434.jpg

In the next room there were two movie sets. Titanic and Pirates of the Caribbean. The wax figure of Leonardo Dicaprio didn't look exactly like him. He looked a little too old.

SANY1439.jpg

But he looked good enough for Lacey to jump on his ship.

SANY1435.jpg

Here's one of Hunter, ever the jokester, acting like he was puking over the side of the ship :sad2::

SANY1436.jpg

John and I love the Pirates of the Caribbean movies so I made him get in a picture with me:

SANY1437.jpg

I took a close up of Captain Jack Sparrow:

And, then, last but certainly not least, Johnny Depp:

SANY1441.jpg

SANY1442.jpg

It took us about 40 minutes to do the entire tour. We didn't stop and linger too long because we had to get back to the hotel and see our show. We did take a minute or too to look around in the small gift shop. My boss' mother wanted a Branson magnet. I lucked up and found one for just 99 cents. Hunter wanted a fake driver's license that had the Matrix on it. It was $3.50. At the register, the lady had our pictures ready. I bought the one that had us looking scared. She threw in the magnet and license free. My total was $10.11.

Lacey found a Kirsten Dunst driver's license and wanted it because everybody says she looks like her. She was about to pay for it and was standing behind her Mamaw when the lady took it from her and put it in Mama's bag while Mama was paying for the smiling picture.

We thanked the lady profusely for the freebies and we were off to fight the traffic. For those of you who have never been to Branson, let me tell you...traffic is a hot mess when it is nearing show times. You have to wait for somebody to be kind enough to let you out and then, if you are turning left, you have to wait for somebody to be kind enough to let you turn. It's heck.

We got back to the room, dropped off our bags and took a potty break. The show would be starting soon and, even though we had assigned seating, we still didn't want to be late.

Up next: The Grand Country Music Hall Christmas show

Totally wonderful for you. That is way exciting. Even better than room discount. Cause now you can spend it like you want.

Have a great day.

I was hoping that it would be a discounted room and a gift card but hey, I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth. I'll take all the freebies Disney wants to hand out to me.

OH! and let us not forget the pin I received....I need to sit down and put figures to paper that will be about the only way this happens....we'll see....if I do this I will miss out on Christmas....I'm sooooo confused about what and when I want to visit Disney....:sad1:

You really should start pricing things out. It may end up being a better deal for you to visit sometime other than Christmas. I know you were wanting to see the Christmas decorations but traveling during other times may be a better price.

I am super excited. This morning, Disney came out with a new special offer that included my travel dates. I didn't get any discounted room or package but I did get a free $500.00 gift card! All I had to do was call Disney Travel and modify my reservation.

Yay!!! on the $500 gift card!!:woohoo::yay: That's so great!!!

Wow!! I can't believe I got so behind again.....

Anyways, I must tell you how much I am enjoying your Branson updates!!:thumbsup2 The Indoor waterpark looked like so much fun!!--and great pictures in the Wax museum!!! I don't know what pictures are my favorite of Lacey and Hunter???? They all turned out so cute!!

Hmm....trying to buy a camera at Walmart was quite an ordeal!! You had much more patience than I would have.:rolleyes1

And....what a pretty Christmas tree!! Love your pics!! If I don't get a chance to get back on before Christmas (between our annual cookie baking day and school Christmas parties.) I want to wish you and your family a wonderful holiday!!! Merry Christmas!!:santa:

:dance3: WOW! What wonderful news, Lisa! Five hundred dollars makes it all the sweeter, huh?

Oh, and I just LOVED your wax museum posts. Lacey and Hunter have me cracking up over here. That Hugh Heffner was just too much! It would have been hilarious had your mother hopped on the bed. Lacey on the Titanic ship was sooo funny! I had to answer the phone while looking at it and had a very hard time not laughing in the guy's ear. Hunter puking was pretty original, too! Leo did look a bit geriatric, if I do say so myself.

Jack Sparrow was spot on. He's so handsome, even in wax! :cutie: Cute picture with you and John. And the American Idol gang looked a bit strange, I'll have to say. Not a likeness one, that I could see. Too bad that Paula is now gone from the Judge's panel. I like her so much better than the Kira, Kara? She's a bit too catty for me.

We had a good time in Branson. Not as much fun as we would have had if we went to Disney but fun nevertheless.

I can always depend on my kids to give me some great pictures. It's actually pretty darn hard to make them take serious pictures.

It took a lot of patience waiting on the lady in Walmart to get our camera checked out. I think I was too tired to complain very much.

Thanks for the compliment on the Christmas tree. I thought it turned out pretty good. Not exactly what I was wanting but that's okay.

I can't wait to really get into my Christmas baking. I did a little this weekend but will do more tonight and tomorrow.

Merry Christmas to you and your family!

I was super excited about receiving the $500.00 gift card. I had been reading a thread about a rumored deal coming out today. Nobody knew whether or not it would come out at midnight or 8:00 a.m. I left the internet on all night long so I could get up early this morning and check the Disney website. Sick in the head, I am.:rolleyes1

Lacey and Hunter are a hoot. It was so much fun walking around with them in the museum. Never a dull moment.

I thought that Leonardo looked a bit old myself. And, I think that theyused the same nose on Tom Cruise and Tom Hanks.:confused3 The whole American Idol figures were a little. I was too busy looking at the way they were holding their hands which were placed weirdly.

I liked Paula more than Kara too. I just don't like her too much.

That's funny you mentioned their hands! I thought they were oddly placed, as well. Especially Simon's. The almost look like they were on backwards!

Congrats on the gift card!!!!! We are going in Oct. so we can't get the deal:sad1: I loved the wax museum pics I agree some of them are dead on and some look nothing like the people. Hope you liked your show.
Have fun baking tomorrow we are baking tons of cookies tomorrow.

I have been catching up with everybody else's trip reports and haven't even posted on my own. Lacey came home Sunday night. She didn't leave Georgia until after church and then was just 10 miles from home when she got stuck in a traffic caused by an accident. She hasn't had good driving luck lately. Today, she is spending time with her cousin who is home from art school. They are just 2 months apart and are like sisters. Tonight, she is going to eat with one of her former Mission students who lives here in town. They haven't seen each other since August.

I received my Christmas bonus today. It was a nice big fat one! Just when I thought he had forgotten. So, at lunch I ran and bought John an exercise bike. He's been saying for years that he would lose weight if he only had a bike. He meant a real bicycle which we just laughed at because he'd never ride it. I do think he'll use the exercise bike though. He's probably going to get upset with me for spending the extra money because we said we weren't going to spend a lot on each other this year. We spent quite a bit (insert over $1,000.00) on the kids this year and this weekend we bought a new mattress and box springs. Oh well, he'll get over it soon enough.

I plan on spending my off time just enjoying being with the kids. I also have to wrap a few Christmas presents. We usually save all of the kids' presents for Christmas morning and we don't wrap those. Santa brings almost everything. Ya'll do still believe in Santa don't you?

Ooh, that Paula is kind of creepy! LOL.

That's pretty cool about getting a $500 gift card!

The rule at my house if you believe in Santa you get a Santa present. Yes, I believe. My name is not Virginia for nuthin
