Stop Making Me Laugh Or I'll Pee My Pants! Go Back! I Lost My Shoe! Trip Report!

Morning all!

I see that we have a few new readers. I will come back and reply to the individual posts when it slows down a bit at work. Holidays are horrible in the family law business. Always somebody fussing about visitation and having to pay for Christmas gifts.

Speaking of Christmas gifts, we dropped about $800.00 this weekend. We bought Lacey's mini laptop and Hunter's Nintendo DSi as well as a few other things. I can still hear my Mickey Mouse wallet that's in my Mickey Mouse purse (sitting here beside my desk) whining 'cause it's now empty.

I'll be back later today.

Lisa

Wow! What a Christmas your children will be having! Too funny about your purse whimpering.

I'm working on a Disney trip report installment right now. In the meantime, you can watch a few videos that Lacey shot at the stunt show. At least I hope you can. I have never posted videos before.:guilty:

Oh and here's a picture of the fabulous street backdrop painting. I love these:

WOW! good for you that you have your children's gifts all done...
I still have no clue what to get my kids...my mom bought what I was going to get for Gwendolyn :confused3 so back to the drawing board... Dayne just wants cash and this Santa does not do cash :sad2:...and I think we are going to do a bike and helmet for Ashton after all (I said no bike this year) and also the game for the TV that is a bike (he lights up everytime he sees the commercial)... We'll see this coming weekend...if we are feeling better that is!

Have a great day! and try not to be too busy...
(I can only imagine the holidays in family court...each family wants the child and no sharing...poor children)

:wave2: :santa: Connie

Okay, it's pretty doggone bad when I interrupt my own trip report so many times that I can't find the last meaningful Hollywood Studios installment. I guess if I'd keep my behind at home and not go on these long weekend trips, I wouldn't have anything other than Disney to post about. But, then, I'd be a boring soul that nobody wants to talk to. I think that I really do need to categorize the report. Maybe I can get that done soon. I ain't promising nothin' though because I'm doing good just to write my report.

IF I posted that we had already gone to Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular, I was wrong. It's coming up.

Once we left the stunt show, Lacey was really feeling yucky. I think it was a combination of it being that time and the heat. She wanted to go to the room and lie down for a little while and we told her to go ahead. I reminded her that we had an ADR at 50s Prime Time and we had Fastpasses for Toy Story Mania. She said she'd only be gone about an 1 hour or hour and a half and then would be back. We told her to call us when she got to the resort. Yes, I know that she is 22 years old and Disney transportation is great but I still wanted her to call. It's a Mama thing which I am sure most of you can relate to.

John, Hunter and I walked down to the Animation Building because I had read that the UP characters were there. We also like the attraction itself including the drawing classes. Lacey called about 15 minutes after she left and said she had made it to the resort. That's what I call fast bus transportation.

I hope that nobody here will take offense at what I am about to type/write because I mean no offense. One year, we were at MGM (it was MGM back then) and the entire day, we saw a lot of what I think were East Indian people. The ladies were always following along behind the men and children and carrying so much stuff they looked like pack mules. The men and children would go into the attraction(s) and the ladies had to stay outside.:confused3 About mid-afternoon that day, we saw the men kneeling near a bench and the ladies were standing behind them. They were praying which I thought was awesome because they were so devout in their beliefs that they would stop in the middle of a theme park and pray. Buuuuuut, I would never ever fit in because I wouldn't be staying outside while my husband and kids went into any Disney attraction and I would have been down there praying too.

Anyway, that little story leads into this little story. As we were standing in the line for the Animation tour, there were several what I think were East Indian families in front of us. This time everybody was in the line, even the women. John and I looked at each other and John said "I guess things have changed huh."

We were admitted into the Animation building and ......WAIT A MINUTE! WAIT A MINUTE! WAIT A MINUTE!:scared1: I may have deja vue or I could just be remembering wrong but I feel like I have typed this before. I sure hope not because I would have the day out of sequence. Goshlee dog, I am so losing it.:sad2:

So we were admitted into the Animation building and we sat down to watch the little Mushu film. John did a little nodding off even though he thinks Mushu's storyline is funny. It was weird because he had his eyes closed and his head was all drooped down and I know he was asleep. Yet, he would still laugh every now and then. He was either sleeping really lightly or he was having a funny dream.

After the Mushu film, we walked around and were able to see the clay (at least I guess they are made of clay) figures and drawings of the new movie, Princess and the Frog which is, of course, set in New Orleans. By the way, do any of ya'll remember if The Rescuers was supposed to be in Louisiana? My Mama calls that the "Evinrude movie" since the dragonfly was named Evinrude.

We looked there for a little while and then went to see if the UP characters were out and they were. Hunter and I jumped in line. They really need to do something about this line. It's so very boring. All you do is stand behind a backdrop and wait. After standing there a while, we heard people saying that Carl had left. I wanted to see Carl! Thankfully, when we got near the front of the line, Carl came back out with his four footed cane complete with tennis balls on the bottom. John took pictures of Hunter and I with Carl, Doug and...and....uh....what's the little boy's name? (See I told you my mind was going bad.) These pictures were lost but the Photopass guy did take some pictures. I am uploading them to photobucket right now. I'll come back and post them in a minute.

We told the UP characters goodbye and went over to John. He said this guy kept yelling at Doug saying "look over here puppy" and trying to climb under the railing so his daughter could see him. The Photopass guy had to tell him over and over again to get in line if he wanted to see the characters. The guy would act like he didn't understand English but he was speaking English so John and the Photopass guy knew he understood. What's up with people? If I have to stand in line, they have to stand in line.

Once we had finished seeing the characters, we wandered over to where you get in line for the drawing class. The castmember said the next class was full but we could wait. We decided we didn't want to wait but instead go see Voyage of the Little Mermaid. The line was waaaaaay long. I made a comment to John about the line and somebody said the show had shut down for a little while and that's why it was backed up. We said we didn't want to wait. We weren't really sure what we wanted to do next so we kind of wandered around a little while.

We wandered until we came back to the Indiana Jones show and it was just about to start. The guy started waving us in and the line just stopped. It was hecka hot in the line. Lacey sent me a text asking what time our ADR was for. It was for 6 something p.m. (I knew at the time I just don't remember right now.) She said she was feeling better so she would come back to Hollywood Studios soon. I sent her a text back telling her we were about to go into the show and she could call me when she got to the park.

Finally, the line started moving and we were able to get a fairly good seat. I bet ya'll are ready for me to shut up and post pictures aren't you. Well, I'm not because they were lost.

Just kidding! Pictures....some good, some not so good.

About this time, Lacey sent a text saying she had made it to the park. She would go to the Indiana Jones store and wait for us. I sent one back and told her the show was about halfway through.

By the time the show was over, Lacey had sent another text saying she was there and in the store looking around. John got a phone call from his friend, Mark, who, calls every time we go anywhere. It's a running joke between John and Mark that we never stay home. John talked to Mark for a little while and the rest of us looked around in the store. There didn't seem to be anything that we really needed. John was still on the phone so we motioned to him and told him we were going to the little Indiana Jones cart things. He trailed along behind us and waited on us. We didn't find anything that we had to have over there either.

We could now use our Fastpasses for Toy Story Mania so we headed that way. My camera was being a royal pain in the behind and wouldn't even turn on. I took the batteries out. I blew in the battery holder part of the camera. I hit it.:rolleyes1 I mean I tapped on it. Still nothing. So, I did like any other mother would do, I took Lacey's camera and started taking pictures.

Continued in next post.

The Fastpass line moved rather slowly but we didn't mind because I was able to take pictures.

I was getting a little ticked off at the family in front of us. They were allowing their kids to go under or over the railings and play with the props. They were pulling, pushing and hitting on them. I hate it when people let their kids do things like that. It's no wonder Disney has to do refurbs and paint stuff all the time.

I suck at these kinds of games. I have no talent for them whatsoever but I didn't do too bad. John's score was on the left and mine was on the right.

DSCN1699.jpg

I can't remember what the kids' scores were but they were better than our's. Their accuracy was way better too.

It was getting close to our ADR time and we wanted to be in and out of there in enough time to do a few things before Fantastmic. This would be our first time eating at Prime Time and I was a little bit worried about having an overbearing waiter or waitress. I checked in and we were told to wait in the living room until they called our name. Lots of people were in the living room and there wasn't enough room for everyone to sit down. We stood and waited. After about 15 minutes, our name was called and we were seated by a super nerdy guy who was really into character. He told us our server would be with us in a minute.

While we waited, I fiddled with my camera some more. Our server, Byron, came around and told us to get our elbows off the table or he wouldn't take our drink order. We obeyed and he rattled off their drink selection so fast we couldn't understand a word he said. Now, John is hard of hearing in the first place and most times he depends on me to tell him what the servers say. In this case, I couldn't tell him a thing. John just looked at me with the oddest look then looked back at Byron and said "I want an Arnold Palmer". The rest of us ordered Cokes figuring that Byron had to have said Coke somewhere in that muddled list of drinks. Byron had this amazed look on his face and said "you understood that?". We didn't but we weren't about to admit it.

He gave us our menus and told us he'd be back with our drinks and to take our order.

As soon as Byron left, Lacey said "I'm going to have issues with Byron." She didn't like the whole character vibe of the restaurant at all. The servers next to us were a little over the top and I wouldn't have wanted them as my server. They were really loud and made a few jokes that I didn't really care for. One of the tables had a two overweight men and the server said something about it looked like they might want to order one of everything. Ummm, a little too much into character. The other table had a large group (that included children) and one of the couples had a teeny tiny baby. The server asked if she had popped the baby out and pulled it from under the table. Ummm, a little too much into character.:confused3

Byron came back with our drinks and we ordered. John ordered the pot roast. Lacey ordered some kind of steak but instead of the scalloped potatoes, she asked for mashed potatoes. Hunter and I ordered the fried chicken. Byron joked around with us for a little while and left.

My camera actually worked for a little while and I took a picture or two. Look how hot and sweaty we look:

Our food arrived and everything was really good. Lacey's steak was a little rarer than she wanted it but not enough to send it back. They also forgot to change out her potatoes. I ate them and gave her mine. Lacey said there was no way that she'd say anything to Byron or he'd start hassling her again. In all honesty, Byron wasn't nearly as bad and the other two servers near us. I think Lacey just didn't feel well.

For dessert, John ordered some kind of pie. Hunter ordered plain vanilla ice cream and Lacey and I ordered some kind of ice cream shake. Hunter took the cherry stem and told us he would tie a knot in it with his tongue. We didn't think he could do it but he did. I'll find the picture and post it later.

We finished up our meal and I asked Byron if he would take a picture with Lacey and Hunter.

DSCN1708-1.jpg

We stopped at the bathroom before we left the restaurant and were off to see what we could find to do.

Up next: Will we get to ride a roller coaster and would John talk me into going on Tower of Terror for the first time ever?

I missed something in the last post. Before we ordered our dessert, Byron came over to see if we had cleaned our plates. Only John had. The rest of us had left some things. I had collard greens and wasn't about to touch them. I don't eat grass! Byron looked at me and yelled "this one didn't clean her plate". Three servers came over and Byron picked up my fork and put a pile of greens on it. He and the other servers started singing some kind of airplane song and he was flying the fork around. I told him that there was no way I was eating the greens. They all booed me and went back to their tables. Byron just laughed and said I couldn't have dessert. (which you know wasn't true 'cause I ate ice cream later)

Love all of Lacey's picutures... Sorry she had so much trouble getting home but am glad that she made it and everything was okay.

Lacey likes to take pictures of odd things and most of them turn out really good. She had some problems getting back to Georgia and it wasn't as bad as we thought it was. It's just sounds so bad when you aren't with your child (no matter how old they are).

Hey Lisa, sorry I have been MIA. I have been so out of the loop with my leg being messed up.

I am glad Lacey made it home safe. I would have been a basket case. Dale would have done the same as John, call and only complicate the situation :sad2:. The pictures at DHS are really good. We didn't get to go there on our last trip, because the day we planned to head over there is the day we had to come home early.

I'm looking forward to your Branson pictures :surfweb:.

I hope that your leg is doing better. I have been keeping you on my prayer list.

John wasn't upset at Lacey so much as he was upset at the situation. I wasn't doing too well myself.

I hope that I can get the Branson pictures posted soon. I thought I better get some Disney pictures posted first.

Lisa, sorry I've not been on your report for awhile, but I wanted to say hi and have a nice weekend. Mark is working all weekend so I hope to catch up on my "subscribed threads" in between baking Christmas cookies this weekend. :)

Don't feel bad. I haven't been so good at keeping up with my Dising either. It's just been so busy at the office. I sure hope that Mark is feeling better. Ummm, Christmas cookies.....that's sounds good!

I have enjoyed the family atmosphere a lot! :goodvibes
I will be sure to let you all know when I do start it. So many interesting things happened when we went for Thanksgiving that it is just impossible to pass up the chance to tell everyone about it! Especially Disney enthusiast! (sp) :)

I absolutely love reading everyone's Disney adventures!

I love the picture of the night-light in the Toy Story Mania ride. I never saw that!

We ate at Prime Time on our honeymoon, but I don't really remember it. I wasn't sure my kids would "get" the theme so haven't taken them there. We LOVE Sci-Fi so we'll probably just stick to that!

Lacey and Hunter's pic with Byron is way cute!

Fun update! Poor Lacey. What a rotten thing to happen on vacation!

I'm glad you got pictures with the UP characters. They were so adorable! I can't wait to see your Photopass pics.

We have never eaten at Primetime. My parents hate it. They don't like the servers yelling at you. I agree, some of those comments they made to the other people were kind-of rude in my opinion.

The pic with Byron was cute. I just love Lacey's expression!

Love the updates. As much as we've always enjoyed our food at PTC, I agree that somtimes the CM's are a little "overboard" with their characters (and then, of course, you have those that don't do anything). We've not been there in about ten years and I'm really not in a hurry to go back--we enjoyed Sci Fi in September a lot and we also really enjoy Mama Melrose.

Good for you for getting the puter and DSi this weekend. We got Alex his XBox this last weekend and exchanged the girls Keurig basic machines for the elite ones. We will be getting Austin's I phone the day before Christmas. So now just Mike and Tim and call it done. Thanks to Connie's Gwendolyn I got things for Mom. I did get my tree up yesterday too.

Now to your update> Poor Lacey. 1. cause she didn't feel good and 2. you stole her camera. Love Toy Story Mania

Love the pic with Bryan, Lacey and Hunter. Love your pic and that shirt you have on is super cute. And John smiling? Ok, Smirking. It was all but a smile.

great update!!! you are lucky to have such wonderful kids...Gwendolyn would have just stood around making everyone miserable instead of asking to go take a nap :lmao:
JK!

Peter!!! I love him!

I was getting a little ticked off at the family in front of us. They were allowing their kids to go under or over the railings and play with the props. They were pulling, pushing and hitting on them. I hate it when people let their kids do things like that. It's no wonder Disney has to do refurbs and paint stuff all the time.

Because the bars aren't there surrounding the props for a reason? Some people are....bleehhhhh. I work at a little theme park where I live, and parents let their kids do whatever they want. It is so frustrating.

Up next: Will we get to ride a roller coaster and would John talk me into going on Tower of Terror for the first time ever?

I love TOT! I get jealous of people going on it the first time, because that was the best time I've had while on it. I mean, I still love it whenever I go on it, but the first time was the best because I had no clue what to expect. :goodvibes

Hi, Great update! My DS15 and I don't care for Prime Time. The only time we went was when DS was 13. He was the only boy in the group. There was my mom and I plus his 4 cousins and 3 friends. Girls ages 11-16:scared1:. After a long a day in the park, we headed over to Prime Time. That day my DS wasn't in a great mood (he's always in a good mood). Our waitress made my DS set the table for all ten of us, he was so MAD. All he wanted to do was sit down. And the girls didn't help with them laughing. He got over it, but doesn't ever want to eat there again. I can't blame him. :lmao:

Picture266.jpg

Great updates and pictures... We love 50's Prime time but I know it isn't for everyone - we have never eaten dinner there so it must be different at dinner and at lunch. Maybe next time it will be better...

Great update!!! I love the photos from 50's Prime Time. They made my brother stand up & sing "I'm a Little Tea Pot" once- thank goodness he is a good sport! He keeps his elbows off of the table now, though. :rotfl: I'm looking forward to seeing the Photopass photos you mentioned, too! I also can't wait to find out if you went on Tower of Terror!!!!! I will be so proud if you say you did. :)
