Stoller for 50lb child?

Anyone know of a stroller that holds 50lbs child? My DS4 is 50lbs (big for his age) and I am starting our search for a stroller for our next trip...

The Maclaren strollers all go to 55lbs.

Someone here said a while ago that they were raising the limit to 65 pounds however I went to their site HERE and it still says 55. At any rate, I think that is probably your best bet, or you might consider renting. The rental strollers are all very sturdy and built to hold big kids.

The Maclaren Techno XLR is one of their newer offerings, it goes to 65 lbs. It does appear to be kinda pricey, and since it is new, it might be hard to find a previously owned one. You might do okay with one of the regular Macs, they go to 55lbs. Has your DS reached the age where he isn't growing quite as fast as previously? We love our Macs, we have a regular Techno and a Volo. They hold up nicely, and resale well.

Just curious, how tall is your DS? My DS4 is 42" now, and he still fits in the Macs height-wise really well.

I would definately go with a Maclaren. They have a new stroller called the Techno XLR, http://www.maclarenbaby.com/us/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=162&Itemid=88888908, and this one goes up to 65lbs and there's more room for bigger kids.

I can't comment on new strollers but when we went last year we rented a stroller for DD who was 5 then. My DS who was 9 got tired of walking and we put him in with her (single stoller, he sat behind her) and it worked perfectly. Combined they must have weighed 115 pounds!

I took DD4 to BRU yesterday to test drive the Maclarens. Everyone was saying the Quest was great...which it is for smaller kids....VERY cushy and I wish I knew what a great stroller that was a few years ago! BUT I found the Triumph to be even better for DD4 because it is wider and the sides dont go up as high it still reclines back a bit. She just fit better in that one. I saw the Techno one but I think it was like $300...waaay out of my $$ range so we didnt test drive that one LOL.
Triumph goes up to 55lbs.( DD is 40" 39 lbs.)

I definitely prefer the Triumph to the Quest. It does seem to be a little wider, maybe not quite as cushy, and it has plenty enough recline for an older child. I also like the fact that it has a carry "strap" instead of the silly little handle that is on the more expensive Macs. My favorite now is actually the Volo, although it doesn't have recline, my son has still slept in it on occasion, and I like how fast the seat dries when it gets wet, we live here in FL and quick showers are a fact of life....

We took our own stroller last year for our 2 year old.

However, after the first day my 6 year olds feet hurt SO BAD from all the walking we had to rent a double stroller for the remainder of the trip and the double stroller did great for a 35 lb 2 year old and a 69 lb 6 year old.

I LOVE the Maclaren Quest stroller. It's great for older, taller children.

I vote for the Maclaren Volo. It is $99.00 in Target. It is mesh also, which I think will be nice in the July heat. It is a tall stroller also. It is very easily washed. We LOVE ours!

We just bought the exact same Triumph today at bRus you have the link to! I was really tempted to buy the Quest at Albeebaby.com for $129 (what a great price), but I actually paid a bit more and bough the the Triumph (at least had a $10off coupon). I know the Quest is considered the better model, but I was just sold on the Triumph.

We test drove the Quest repeatedly last year, bought another stroller instead (the price just made me stumble). We used that stroller (Britax Esprit) in Disney and it was fine but just not awesome. Decided this year I was buying a Maclaren.

What sold me on the Trimph was the closing and opening mechanism...I do not recall it being so nice on the 2006 model, but the 2007 is super awesome!

We bought a Volo for our DD to use at Disney. She didnt use strollers anymore at home, but got a great price on it and it is a GREAT stroller. You can get a volo for $100 or less easily. I just purchased a Quest Mod for new DD coming in Sept. I needed one that would recline since the volo doesnt, but for an older child the volo is perfect. The volo holds up to 55 pounds. The Techno XLR is the only one in the line that goes up to 65 pounds. It was a bit too pricy for me though. I got my Quest Mod for $129 on albee baby.
