Stolen Passports and the Kindness of Strangers.

I know that not everybody reads the Cruise Line Board, because not everybody is going on a cruise. But, this is a story that I thought should be shared with everybody on the DIS board. It is about what happens when your passport is stolen and you are trying to take a Disney cruise. I have included the DIS thread that started it all. And I have posted the video that Scot (the father/husband) put online telling the entire story from beginning to end.

You can't get through this without knowing what wonderful people there are in the World. Thank you so much to everybody that was involved.

I read that thread yesterday. It totally brought tears to my eyes. I can tell you - I know Shirley and Norm don't do it for the praise, but I am definitely ordering a basket from them on our next cruise. They are Grade-A people.

I just watched the video and it made me cry, not because of them making a cruise so much but to think that there is still folks out there that will reallly help in time of need. God bless them all!!!!

I agree but in the video Scott definitely gives them a lot of credit. I had stumbled onto this story yesterday and it really is awesome.

I LOVE this story! Scott produced a great video. It saved me a lot of reading and it was WONDERFUL! What was the name of the hotel. Scott did give them lots of credit.

OK, I went and checked. The hotel was the Marriott Orlando Airport.

It was a Marriott. Shirley mentioned it in one of her posts.

I love Marriott. Several years ago we were stranded due to a brush fire on Maui. We couldn't get back to our room and our son who didn't go on the car ride to Hana. We had to fly out the next morning to the Big Island. When we finally got back to the room at 4 am, we had to pack and leave. We had no time to return the snorkel equipment that we rented at the Whaler Shops. The hotel returned it for us. Of course its not nearly as HUGE as this episode but it demonstrates Marriott's committment to customer service.
