Stocking up on Crayola/BTS Supplies

I don't have a school aged child yet but the BTS sales on Crayola supplies look pretty good. I was thinking of stocking up while they're really cheap right now and saving them for later on - either personal art stash, BD party goodie bag use or even passing out for Halloween.

Staples has a 10 pack of Crayola markers for 68 cents and a 24 pack of crayons for 49 cents. This looks pretty darn cheap to me, but I wanted to ask the experts if any other stores out there have them for less? I haven't really been paying close attention to the ads.

Try Target and Walmart - I think the 24 pack of crayolas are .25 at each. They also have the double packs of glue sticks and Elmers bottles for .20 or .25 and the markers I think were .50 at Walmart. They run the specials every year though, so just get what you need for this year. First time I saw them so cheap I bought bags full - I think I still have some left.

I always go to Target when the supplies get marked down to 75% off. I stock up then for the next couple years, pick up a new lunch box, etc.

does anyone know how long crayola markers will stay "good" if they aren't opened? I like to get them and put them in as stocking stuffers. Office Depot here had them for 39 cents a few weeks ago.

They run the specials every year though, so just get what you need for this year.

I agree. They have great deals every year so don't worry about getting enough for years.
I didn't take my own advice though as I have never seen the Crayola markers anywhere near $.39 . I bought 20 packs this year! And 10 packs of the colored pencils. I'm a preschool teacher so I will use about half of them this year.
I have used 3 or 4 year old unopened markers (before I learned not to stock up so much) and they were fine.

One of my DDs birthdays is 9/21 when most of the supplies have gone on clearance. One year I stocked up on supplies, including pencil boxes, and made goodie boxes for her birthday party out of these.

The kids have been using the markers that I bought two years ago since then. I used a bunch as party bag stuffers too. I would rather have everything put away so that I don't have to make the rounds to get the best prices at all the sales each year. This year it has been great because I had everything for both kids already. I have alot of responsibility with the PTO this year & have been busy getting ready for that. One less thing for me to worry about.

I got a 24 pack of crayons for .19 cents at Walmart. Woohoo...The other store that I was at before Walmart wanted .88/2. I thought to myself that I would check Walmart 1st.....glad I did.

I like stocking up too and use them throughout the year for party bags and stocking stuffers and just plain surprizes. Oh, yeah, and the goodie bags for the car trip to Disney - lol.
