Our last trip to Disney was August of 2001. It was a 2 week trip, half spent off property and half ant POR. While we were driving to Epcot one morning, DH's boss called to tell him he was being laid off from his job. Now DH was a project manager/sales manager for HP. I was a stay at home mom looking forward to a full day alone when DD10 started 1st grade. We managed to get through the rest of the trip. Then everyone knows what happened on Sept 11. Needless to say DH couldn't find a full time job for 3 1/2 years. I went to work full time. He worked at 3 part time jobs for most of that time. So when DH landed a good job last March, you know what I was thinking!!!!!! When can we afford to go back to Disney????

Well, we really couldn't afford to go yet, but I couldn't go another year without visiting Mickey. Our trip plans started with us driving down and staying at POR. DH said he didn't think he could stand the drive down and then back....so I booked our airfare. Then I learned about the Dining Plan when DSister and DNiece went in October and loved the it(Of course it was FREE then)....So I booked the dining plan. DS said he didn't think he could stand to sleep on the pull out bed on the floor at POR......so I booked 2 rooms at POP what could be better-2 bathrooms, 2 tvs, and a door between us and the kids!!!). Then I read on the Dis about the discount and extras for free......so I called and for less money got park hoppers and Disney Quest, Blizzard Beach...!!! I was very excited about all of our plans. Now we just had to get through Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Eve, putting away the decorations, and packing.

Soon it was January 6th and I was yelling at everyone to go to bed because 4:30 AM comes pretty quickly ......

wow.......great planning and great extras.......can hardly wait for your trip report with the food TOO

Sounds fantastic ~ Can't wait to read more.
