Stitch is Troubled – He needs desserts!!

Introduction

Our trip was over Thanksgiving. I planned this trip when I found out this would be the last year for Osbourne Lights. I just had to see them one more time. We were scraping the bottom of the barrel with our DVC points, so we used what was left of those for a 1 BR at Old Key West for the first two nights and then my travel agent friend @jensib hooked me up with a Cars Suite at Art of Animation for the last three nights.

The cast characters consists of myself

My name is Susan and I design irrigation systems for a landscape architect.

And My DH

His name is Jerry and he works in management at a chemical plant. He just got a really great job in Corpus Christi (we live in South Carolina right now), so he has been living in Texas while the kids and I are here until the house is sold. It has been hard without him, so we were very happy to see him and spend this special time with him.

Here we are.

My DS

His name is Nathan and he is 16. We are just going to call him Grumpy Cat. He has decided that he is not into Disney anymore and I’m not going to lie, he kind of sucked some joy out of the trip for us. Next time, I seriously think we will leave him home. I think he will be happier staying home as well. The trick is finding a place for him to stay. Here he is actually being goofy and fun for a short moment.

And the last character is our DD

Her Name is Hannah and she is 13. She is my Disney buddy. She is always ready for a trip and even though we had a few “teen” moments, she was lots of fun and we had a great time.

I hope you all will stop in and say hello and follow along as I share my trip.

Looking forward to your reviews!
As a former grumpy teenager, give him time! He'll decide he loves Disney again in a few years and will be begging to come back with you.

I really hope so. Because I enjoy it so much and I enjoy it even more with my family. And when they aren't having fun, I feel bad. DD and I have decided it is time for a girls trip :-)

A teaser before we get to the good stuff - the DISNEY food.

We got up at 3:30 AM and were on the road at 4:15 ish. We made great time and only got slowed down on I-4 for a while. We stopped at Waffle House for breakfast. I call it the Awful Waffle. Not because the food isn’t good, but it is just kind of gross and dirty inside the restaurant. It is a must do for the kids though. I will say the food at this one was better than most. We enjoyed it. Here’s a food photo.

What a cute family! It must be hard living temporarily away from your husband.
Can't wait to read all about your trip!:flower1:

Weren't we punished enough during the toddler years? :scared:
No, that is revenge time for your parents...my mother always wished I have a dozen just like me, but she revised that number after the first one...she was enough!

Hi! Glad to hear you had such a fantastic trip. I don't have any teenagers myself but I'm sure my siblings and I were punishment enough for my mom LOL! I am sure my parents considered leaving one (or multiple) of us behind on vacations. ;)

Can't wait to hear about all of your adventures - and good luck with the move to Texas. That's far!

He was seriously grumpy cat the whole trip. I really made me mad. Yes, Texas!! But it is a great job for DH with lots of extra money so we couldn't pass it up!! Thanks for following!!

When we arrived at Old Key West, our room wasn't ready, so we headed over to Disney Springs to shop and get some snacks.

We stopped at Wetzels Pretzels and got a frozen lemonade and a pretzel. This strangely took FOREVER to order. For some reason the three or four orders before us took a long time. I mean no one could make up their mind what they wanted, everyone had questions about pricing and ingredients. I dunno.

In any case, this was good food. The pretzels were nice and soft with the sort of sweet buttery taste to them that we really enjoyed.

And the brain freeze from the frozen lemonade was first rate. Could have used some vodka though.

We liked this snack.

DD wanted to get something from Goofy’s Candy Company so we went down there.

She got a rice krispie with milk chocolate, M&M’s with white chocolate drizzle.

After that, we got the text that our room was ready (yay!!), so we headed back to the resort to unpack our stuff.

Thanks for following along!! It is hard to be without him. We can't wait until we can all be together.

I'm in - thankfully my kids still both want to do Disney although they're done with character meals - for now ;)

A hot pretzel and icy lemonade is my idea of the perfect snack! I'm looking forward to more reviews:)

Your family's taste in food is impeccable! All of my favourites! Or maybe I'm just hungry......

I'm always hungry when I scroll through the dining reviews. I enjoy the food porn so much though.

My daughter would still do the character meals. We didn't do any this trip though. We tried to Get Garden Grill, but couldn't/

Looks like a great time so far. In for the trip.

YAY!! Thanks for taking the time to say hello!!

I love those rice krispy treats at Goofy's. Great choice!

She said it was super sweet and it took her a couple of days to finish. I love them, too, but did not get a bite of this one.
