Stitch has caused trouble once again..

Oh, Stitch. I was one of the only people who actually liked you. And now you've completely blown it.......literally.

Yeah, it won't be in rehab for too long. Probably a day, opr two. I was one of the only people that enjoy that ride and love Stitch.

Okay, I have to ask........I had heard that a scathing expose of Disney was going to be written by a girl who quit when she was not allowed to portray Mary Poppins in a parade or something. That isn't her book, is it?

Just wondering.

And you can bet your behind if my kids and I were burned in the way this seems to say the guests were, the whole park would know it, because I would be FREAKING. A couple of cast members hosing us off would NOT suffice....I don't care how much money they waved in my face.

But hydraulic fluid is not acidic. So this whole thing sounds like a bunch of cow pockey to me. The thought of Stitch exploding was pretty entertaining. My 11-year-old laughed so hard he snorted. So :thumbsup2 for that.

I do not think Disney is perfect. I am related to a CM, so I KNOW they are not. They are a corporation trying to make money, bottom line. So it is not all sunshine and peppermints. But between the Orlando Sentinel and things like this, you would think they were the Anti-Christ. Sheesh.

"that Disney company is the debil!!!" 10 points if you guess the reference I was making there. :teeth:

The Waterboy! :rotfl:

It's happened before.

On one of the backstage tours (a few years ago) a tour guide was telling me (our group) of an incident where one of the figures in, I forget which, American Adventure (Epcot) or Hall of Presidents (MK) burst a hose (had an aortic aneurism?) and sprayed hydraulic fluid. I think she was saying people got burned because the fluid gets hot during operation.

Hydraulic fluid was invented for use instead of water in order to withstand higher temperatures without causing unpredictable pressures from boiling, and to not rust the innards of the machinery.

OK I hope this will clear up some of the confusion and argueing here. My 18 year old step daughter was there and on the ride at the time of the "incident" It is NOT as dramatic as it sounds.... She said there was some splatter.. She got some on her legs and a little on her clothing. She said there were cast members waiting at the exit offering free tee shirts and a fast pass. She said it was NO big deal and decided not to wait for them to get through everyone to get a free t-shirt. She wiped her leg off and continued her day without getting a rash or blistering or anything else...

Oh I was HOPING someone had first hand information of "the incident"! WHEW!
I was starting to believe some of the anti-disney book photos/mickey mouse's rotting carcas propaganda! From a DisnEy lover!!!! :thumbsup2

I was hoping the original story was of a teeny leak that sprinkled the baby-toe of some lady...snowballing into massive conspiracy rivaling the assassination of Pres. Kennedy, but that'll do.

The leaking Abe Lincoln story is told on the Travel Channel special about WDW. Walt ordered them to use clear hydralic fluid afterwards instead of red. It looked like Abe had been shot.

This is too funny.

Does WDW have some special room for hosing off guests?

Sure.
This was such a BIG problem in the earlier days of Animatronics, the Imagineers designed a bunch special boothes for cleaning off hydro-fluid on up to 10 or so guests at a time.
They have "automatic doors" (doesn't EVERYTHING at Disney?) and allow a group of guests to enter on one side, it does its "hydro" thing, and then they exit out the other side.
No biggie.
You've probably heard the name for these.
They called 'em "Hydrolators".
I think I even got to go thru some over at Epcot awhile back.
I think they're not out in the open any more.
