Our story starts at 3am when DD wakes up with nightmares and crawls into bed with us. Followed by her brother who comes in about 1/2 hr. later to inform us that his ear hurts .

So, the rain never turned to ice, but we couldn't leave because DS needed to go to the Dr. this morning. Of course he was just there Wed., but no earache then , so two dr. visits and $60 later....DH is going to get his $150 prescription filled. (he's allergic to all the cheap stuff)

And...we're still not in Fl. Seriously, I'm thinking the man upstairs doesn't want us in the Sunshine state - ever.

So...do we leave today and drive all night, or do we wait and go tomorrow - I'm wondering if all the wetness on the ground right now could turn to ice tonight??? What do y'all think?

Or should I ask the Magic Eight Ball thread?

That stinks Breezy. Do states like Kentucky/Tenn salt their roads? If they do, I'd leave in the morning. I know some southern states put sand on the roads. Doesn't seem like that would do much good.

DS4 woke up at 4am with a nightmare too. He's only had maybe 2 nights like that in his life. HE was screaming "Daddy said I'm never going to Disney World again" He didn't even open his eyes, he just kept saying that.
DH was ticked on vacation because DS was having a tantrum and said that to him. DH got an earful this morning from me after I went back to bed from consoling DS.

My boss said I can leave at noon! I'm gonna go home and do some christmas baking. Of course it may take me 2 hours to get home.

Thanks guys for the condolences. Vegas 2008 RIP. Maybe there will be a Vegas 2009. Hmmmm, my sister does turn 40 in '09.

I keep checking all the Vegas flights today and they are delayed so I'm feeling better. Even if we could have gotten out today, we would be sitting at the airport all day. Not fun at all.

Cat - I promised Abby I'd take her sledding. Wanna take her? I mean, wanna come?

More good news. My boss said I can work from home today so I'm off until 1/2 b/c of vacation time left and shutdown! WOOHOO!

All of our family keeps calling telling us they are so sorry our trip is cancelled. Poor DH, his b-day trip is ruined. Wonder if I can do anything good to make up for it. I know the answer, clean the house, but I don't want to do that.

Maybe I'll just play some Wii since it is finally hooked up! Pics should be coming this weekend of the fireplace.
