Sun ~ You have to try DH's favorite new game. It is BlackJack Switch. We only found it at the Tropicana (well worth the travel to there if you ask him, he wins at it!) They deal you two hands face up and then you can trade the top cards to improve your hand or hands if you want to. It is so fun! He won about $550 our last night there.

Our other favorite is a new roulette they have. You have a regular table with a human dealer (so that part is not electronic) but you have a computer in front of you that you use to place your bet so you don't have to reach over everyone and try to get your bet out there. We just get two computers side by side and flag down a cocktail waitress and play for hours. It's a really fun way to do roulette. It is at Tropicana also right by Blackjack Switch and also at Monte Carlo, NY NY and a couple others, I forget.

Our theory is it's okay to stay at an expensive one, but don't play there. Play at the cheaper ones! That's why so much time spent at Tropicana!

Breezy ~ Thanks for feeding us! I'm getting ready for the chocolate time of year. Why does everyone bring their dentist chocolate for the holidays? It is so hard to have all those pounds of chocolate in the break room. Last year we had a lady that gave us a box of fruit. I like that lady!

So I had a dad waiting by my desk while his daughter was in her appointment and we were talking about how busy life is and I was pleading my case for more hours in a day. He said maybe an extra day per week would be better. So we named it Funday. Friday, Saturday, Funday, Sunday, Monday....... Don't you think that's a great idea?

Those sound cool! I'll have to try those out. I hear ya about gambling cheaper. We like to go to old downtown Vegas or O 'Sheas to gamble.

DS8 won his football game. He is so excited because they advance to semi-finals and "get to play in lights"!

DS16 got his drivers permit and I have been riding shotgun a lot. That's weird!

Our entire county is mail-in ballot only. I kind of miss the whole going to the polling place thing. It seems more like voting. But yes, we did vote and are waiting to hear the results!

My mom jumped on my as soon as I came out of the booth thing wanting to know who I voted for. We all went over together first thing in the morning, that was our first "family outing" in months.

And sorry, no, I voted for Obama.

I was going between McCain and Obama right up until I was in the booth, but in the end I went with Obama because of the vice president canidates. I'd be happy with either guy as president though.

I'm thinking about 1 show on DH's b-day and leaning towards Mystere.

What do you think?

Any dinner recommendations? I was leaning towards RM Seafood or Border Grill in Mandalay Bay. Mostly b/c both are on restaurant.com so I can get a $25 gift certificate. Have you eaten at either of those????

Or, is there somewhere in Treasure Island that is good? Mystere is in Treasure Island.

OT - DH still has not made it to Home Depot to check out the paint for the boards. However, he did spend the last 2 weekends assembling and staining boards so they are built and ready to be painted.

IF he finds your paint, do you want W's on both???? Or, do you want to husky? I think he said he could do either one. I'm guessing the W would be easier and cheaper.

Do you think that is a good show to go to? I've never seen any of the Cirque shows and that one seems to get the best reviews on trip advisor.

I'm waiting for some discounted tix though. Right now, there are discounted shows for November so I'm going to hold off for awhile to see if Dec gets discounted too.

I haven't eaten at that many nice places. We do a lot of buffets! I have eaten at Smith and Wollensky which is very good, but VERY expensive. We had fun there because we had a "kitchen table" which was in the kitchen but separated by glass. It was interesting.

Have you ever waited until you get there and gotten half price tickets at the Coke bottle? They don't have every show, but many of the ones that you would want to see are there.

Personally, we have the same logo on our boards. DH has done some boards with 2 different logos, but he does charge more for that b/c it takes him longer, yada, yada...... Example, a friend of mine is a Detroit fan so she got the Tigers logo on one board and the Redwings one on the other. So, it is completely up to you. I believe it is around $150 for the boards & bags if you have 1 logo. Not sure what it is for 2 different logos. I can find out though if you are interested. It is up to you.

I've never seen a show in Vegas at all so I have no idea what the Coke bottle is.
