Still wishing for Japan

Does anyone know where I can write to the people at Adventures By Disney and ask about or plead for a Japan trip? I ask on here every few years, but no one ever knows if it's in the works or if it's a possibility. I'm wondering if it's not a popular request or if there's another reason a trip for Japan has not been created.

I'm not interested as much in China, although I wouldn't mind a jump to Hong Kong during the Japan trip. I think Japan is much more interesting, and I'd jump aboard that trip in a heart beat if I knew if was going to happen.

I know I could go to Japan with other companies or by myself, but I'd rather go with Disney.

I don't have a strong desire to spend thousands of dollars on any other country...

Thanks!

Go to the link below to leave your comment for ABD. I've gotten several responses when I contacted them through the website, so I know somebody reads the messages, at least part of the time. :)

The ABD party line is that Japan is too expensive. We've traveled there on our own and didn't find it any more expensive than London. In fact, for good, cheap eats, Tokyo beats London hands down. Unless ABD figures it would have to put travelers in the "Lost in Translation" Hyatt every night, I don't see how this trip could cost more than Knights and Lights. Who knows, maybe they were researching the possibility when "the big one" hit over there.

Miss SD - I agree with you. I've traveled to Japan before and it can be accomplished with a reasonable budget, similar to London or Paris. I really hope they consider adding it in 2015....perhaps the big earthquake/tsunami affected ABD's plans?

let's keep our fingers crossed. :)

Wow, I was just thinking about this over the weekend. With Disneyland Tokyo it would seem a logical chocie. I too would prefer this destination over China.

I wonder if Tokyo Disney might actually be the problem - when Disney signed the licensing agreement with the Oriental Land Company in the early '80s, it presumably gave OLC broad rights to market the Disney name in Japan, which might now prevent ABD from running tours there under the Disney brand?

I know it took a lot of coordinating for ABD to arrange to extend our Knights & Lights ABD to Disneyland Paris (with our Adventure Guides). Since it wasn't actually run by Disney. Is that the same situation as Tokyo Disney?

I was told a while back that the problem was something along the line that they could not put together a Japan trip that could justify the cost. That what they could offer for a "reasonable" price wasn't up to ABD standards.

I was very surprised to discover that ABD doesn't do a Japan tour. I took a tour of Japan and both the tour and costs in Japan were nowhere near as horrible as I thought that they would be.
