Still undecided on meal plan

We (2 adults) did the meal plan for our upcoming trip but we have a table service meal scheduled every day that we are there. If you figure up we're probably going to drop around $100 for the same amount of food out of pocket in a nice sit down place, it makes great sense for us (added on the fact got in on the last day of the free ddp). For your family of four I would say to go all out of pocket (unless youre deciding about free dining maybe being offered at the same time next year - if its free woohoo, go for it).

We have 2 adults and 2 children and plan on doing a TS everyday. Do you really think we will spend $100 a day. I didn't think it would cost that much. I've been thinking about the dining plan as well. All this planning really gives me a headache. :faint:

We used the DDP on our last trip and I purchased it for our upcoming holiday. There is no way I'd ever go without it. My sons are big eaters and love trying different cuisines and love their desserts! With the dining plan, they get to pick all sorts of foods they would not normally have - and get the desserts I'd never buy at home!!!
As far as I go, I really prefer to have all the meals paid for - so no budget worries and it has allowed us to try the TS restaurants I'd only read about.
Lastly, my sons and I like looking over the menus and the food pics thread and decide what restaurants to make ADRs at.
It does save me money, but the best thing is my sons like it as I don't say "NO" to them getting snacks, treats and desserts etc. because we are blowing our budget.

We decided not to use the dining plan as we dont want to be tied to ressies every night. I figure about 50- 60 dollars a day. Plus we will probably have a couple sit down dinners. I dont think we will spend more not doing dining plan. I dont think you can trully compare how much money you saved by being on dining by looking at your receipts unless you trully would have ordered appitizers, meal, and desert for each person every night. But it cant be beat for the experience of trying different foods! and I wouldnt really mind being able to have dessert every night.....my waistline will appreciate me in the long run though

You will pay close to $100 a day for meals if you plan on going to many table service restaurants. Definately if you go to one per day. I usually figure $80-$90 per day for our family of 3 and we eat at a TS restaurant at least once every other day.
