Does anyone know if you can still see the old River Country water park if you are in a boat on Bay Lake?

Absolutely.

From any boat that passes on that side of the former "Discovery Island".

I thought River Country was at Fort Wilderness, not on Discovery Island.

It is.

But to see River Country the boat you are riding in has to be passing by the side of Discovery Island that faces River Country.

I mentioned the Island because SOME Disney transportation boats travel around "that side" (facing River Country) of the Island, some routes navigate around the other side (where you CAN'T see RC.)

River Country is at Fort Wilderness. But boats pass between Discovery Island and River Country on their way to the Ft. Wilderness boat dock. S/he meant passing on that side of Discovery Island, not the side that does not face River Country.

Yeah.

What s/he said.

:goodvibes

It makes me sad to see it just sitting there all lonely and miderable :sad2: We never even got a chance to go there, we were waiting for the kids to get old enough to swim and enjoy it but by the time they did it was closed. Same thing about Discovery Island. I really wish WDW would do something new and exciting with BOTH locations.

I really hope RC opens again. I loved it as a kid and know mine would now. Fort Wilderness needs better swim options anyway. I imagine accessibility is an issue at both locations.

It's way small compared to the others; those were probably built to handle the growing crowds. If it opened to the public, I don't know what the capacity would be. It would probably be a good option for people staying at Fort Wilderness tho.

It has been hinted that over the years RC has a growing problem with certain of Mickey's "relatives".
