Bonnie - I am sorry about your assistant, but maybe it is for the best. Are you in the classroom on your own now? Or have they found you another? I hope you feel better soon!

We're dealing with all sorts of political shenangins at our school too. I think I will have two new co-teachers next year as they are moving mine around into the spaces they create by firing some of our great old teachers. I guess I should have realized that schools can be as political as anywhere else, but I never thought about it!

Honey Roasted Peanuts



I got my new glasses today. It's the little things that make me happy because I just love them. I'm trying out two new samples of contacts too. I have dry eyes and right now I'm wearing the Focus Daily throw away ones. I would love to wear my contacts more often but hate putting drops in my eyes which seems like all day long. Hopefully the new ones will do the trick.

Hey Sassies! I'm enjoying learning more about Mardi Gras, thanks Judi and Tricia.

Tricia, as a New Orleans resident do you find yourself eating much alligator? I ask because last night on Top Chef one of the ingredients was alligator and they said it was a NO staple, I just wonder if the regular NO mom cooked it on a regular basis or if they exaggerated it a bit.

And I can't put any drops in my eyes at all! Brian has to do it for me and I still blink and nothing goes in.

Tricia, as a New Orleans resident do you find yourself eating much alligator? I ask because last night on Top Chef one of the ingredients was alligator and they said it was a NO staple, I just wonder if the regular NO mom cooked it on a regular basis or if they exaggerated it a bit.

I would say it's exaggerated a lot. I've only had it a couple of times and yes it does sort of taste like chicken. I've never cooked it and don't think any of my friends or family have either. It is on a lot of menu's down in the French Quarter but definitely not an everyday item for the locals.

Good morning Sassy ladies and Pirate! I didn't think alligator was as common as Tom made it sound. Especially after seeing the thing on the table amongst crab and fish. Freaked me out for some reason.

Acorns do make great whistles, so do wide blades of tall grass. Brian's dad can fashion a flute complete with finger holes out of a stick, the boys love that.

Good luck Barney!! Brendan medaled in 3 events in his championships and Justin beat all his times, he's still the smallest guy out there in his age group, but has been beating several of the kids now. He's so hard on himself because he hasn't won any medals yet.

Good Morning Sassies!

Today I get new tires. Just a tidbit of information for you ladies in case you are in the market for new wheels for your vehicle. I called around to all the tire places near me to get a couple of prices. My big fat SUV takes big tires and they are $185.99 each. I called Sams Club and they are only $150.00 each. They didn't carry my size in stock but I ordered them on Monday and they called yesterday to say they were in. Today I'll head back over so my car can have pretty new shoes.

Judi are you still getting snow? Are Jordan Almonds the ones that have a candy coating on them? I haven't had one of those in years but do remember it being yummy.
