hi

while typing this message i am on the other line with connections and have been on hold waiting for a supervisor for over 20 minutes

the problem is i called and ordered my meal vouchers and some movie tickets- of course the gentleman i talked to was brand new and didn't know what i was asking for- well after we got this straightned out my order was complete and he asked if there is anything else he could do for me- well, i said, don't you need my credit card number?he said it is on file- i told him this isn't the one i want to use- he said too late the order has been processed!!!! what?!!!%$@@*- boy was i heated -told him this will be a problem as this is not the credit card i wanted to put the order on (this is my debit card and i don't want any orders on this incase there are problems)

sooooo, finally the supervisor has come on the line- i explained to her what happend COLOR=orangered] she goes back to see if there is anything she can do - and guess what???SHE CAN'T DO ANYTHING-the amount already went through to my credit card-
grrrrrrrrr! well i complained some more and she gave me a $60 household coupon (big deal after all this aggrevation)

anyhow- my advice is if you call directly to Connections to place an order- advise them up front if you are using the credit card on file or another or you will end up like me- STRESSED OUT!!

lisa:( :( :( :(

Bratray,

You have my sympathy and empathy... I was involved in a long series of posts 2 months ago regarding Connections issues. Their Q&C $11 meal vouchers are so awesome for the money you save at some of the WDW restaurants, but the stress and frustration you pay in advance seems hardly worth it. They must have a very poor training program for their phone reps, and they certainly don't seem to hire any real talent.

Anyone out there who is seduced by the stories of $20 worth of savings at Beaches and Cream should be prepared for a challenge if:

1.You are in a hurry: It takes at least 72 hours for your online enrollment to process and another 72 after ordering before they actually send out the vouchers, as they apparently don't have instant credit card verification capability.

2.You have any type of firewall or or active anti-virus protection on your PC. I went through a week of tearing my hair out because I could not see or order any of the WDW products available on the website. (One rep offered to READ the whole website to me - very noble, but NO THANKS!) Finally another DISer here figured it out. (If you experience this, disable your firewall or anti-virus software and re-open your browser, and it will be like magic)

3.You expect to speak with trained and knowledgeable people when you call Connections: There were a couple who seemed to sincerely want to help, but couldn't, and more I spoke to who made me want to scream.

We cancelled our Connections enrollment within the 30 days, and now that we are planing another WDW trip, we debated about reenrolling, and decided against it. It just wasn't worth the high blood pressure to us!

Good Luck!

I joined with DH's name on Sunday. You get your membership # immediately and can order right then. I placed my order.

I rec'd the vouchers on Wednesday.

We have a firewall and anti-virus protection, but I've never had any trouble ordering. It must depend what kind you have.

I have ordered more than a dozen times. Always on line--never on the phone and I've always rec'd my order within 2 or 3 days and I've never been double charged.

Maybe I've been lucky.

Every state has laws allowing the cancellation of orders by mail or phone, even in person within 48-72 hours of the order, and before the merchandise or service is recieved. (Terms of service agreements cannot prohibit cancellations within the statutory time periods for cancellations either, no matter what they say)

Call back right away and cancel the order, then call back and reorder with the right credit card.
If they give you any grief, call your bank and speak to a manager who can help you with a merchant dispute (even on a debit card if it has a visa/MC logo). They will also be able to tell you the time limit for order cancellation in your state. (as would the BBB or chamber of commerce)

You don't have to settle for what they say they can do.

I guess I've been lucky too. I just joined last week, and was able to order things right away. I received certificates and gift cards by express mail within 2 or 3 days(great for x-mas gifts). I did do all ordering online.

well, after i got off the phone with connections i called my bank- the order had gone through that quick- i am a little concerned as when the supervisor was trying to help me she took the credit card number of the card i wanted to use then came back and said the accounting dept couldn't put it on this card as it was already charged to the one on file- could you imagine if BOTH cards were charged!! my DH would flip :(

well i am going to check my other credit card this evening and pray there are no charges on this-
i was really excited about this program and looking forward to getting my vouchers- the savings is great and it really is a good program- connections needs to train their people better to avoid this type of problem- i will be cancelling after i get my vouchers and movie tickets- i don't care about the $60 household credit they gave me- it really is too bad because i wanted to stay a member even just for the movie savings (our family is always at the movies)

oh well, live and learn!!

thanks for the words of support and advice

lisa

I, also was able to order right away when I joined online. Received my order quickly and was never double charged. My advice is not to try to order over the phone because of all the problems I've heard with that.

I too want to say that I've ordered all kinds of vouchers, Universal tickets, restaurant gift cards on line, and have never had a problem.

Lisa:

I can so relate to your problems with Connections....I also placed my order via the phone and each person I spoke to was worst than the one before....

When I placed my order I went over the order 5 times (and yes I really did..LOL) and she still got the order wrong...I got the meal vouchers but not the Disney tickets....

I then called back and said look its your fault not mine can you at least do next day air...The supervisor said all I can offer you is an apology and I said all I can offer you is to cancell this membership....

I too was willing to stay with them but its not worth the savings if all of it is spent in time on the phone with these guys...

You still have the right to dispute the debit card transaction with a card with a MC/Visa logo, but it has to be a valid reason. You need to give them the opportunity to fix it first.

The company has already authorized the transaction (on same day) but it would not have already cleared or hard-posted to your account. Although it could go thru overnite.

Regardless, you should still have no trouble cancelling the transaction and process a new transaction on the other card.
