Still no ADRs for Plaza?

Is the Plaza still only accepting ADRs between 11 - Noon? If so, I'm wondering how long you had to wait for a table during prime lunch hours? We have a tradition of going around 12:30 on our last day, but I've always had the benefit of a reservation.

Yes it's still only 11-12. Most reports I've read have indicated the waits aren't bad at all. 10-20 minutes many have said.

Does anyone know why they stopped accepted regular ADRs there? I don't get the 11-12 thing? :confused3

This is good to know! I was able to get an 11 reservation but would rather eat later. This isn't until September so will see if this stays this way!

Why would you think it is changing? It has been this way for many months

Bunch of theories, nothing concrete from what I've read.
1. A way to help the spur-of-the-moment people/trips have a sit-down
2. Possible testing for other restaurants in the future. It has not yet been a year since this has been in effect. It may change back, or others may join.
3. Way to prevent people from making reservations during the parades and then sitting there the whole time to watch it past their meal time.

We waited about ten minutes at about 1:30 earlier this month on a busy day, much less than we have waited in the past with ADRS.

Wait times sound encouraging. I think I'll take a chance on walking up. Thanks for sharing your experiences!

Are you still going to try to walk up at 12:30? Since they do take ADRs for that time, and I assume you can't get one, you may be waiting a little longer than 10-15 minutes.

They no longer offer ADR's from 12-approx 3pm.

On March 15th the park was PACKED and the weather was cold. We decided to try getting in to the Plaza to get warm over lunch. Walked up to the podium at 11:50am and asked how long the wait was. We were told 15 minutes and given a pager. We waited no more than 4 minutes, maybe even less. They are turning over the tables in the restaurant very fast. We were seated and our order taken within 5 minutes. From the time we sat down to the time we walked back outside it was only 40 minutes. I would be willing to bet that they seat/serve more tables without the ADR's.

12:30 is outside the ADR window. You can only get an ADR between 11:00 am and 12:00. If I can snag something close to 12:00 (like 11:50 or 11:55), I will take it. Otherwise I'll take my chances. If the wait is long, we'll just go somewhere else.

Aha. I was wondering why they weren't taking ADRs anymore and that makes sense. Of course they are turning more tables by preventing parade campers. (If this is working to prevent parade campers) Do people do the same around fireworks time?

Is this the same way it it working for dinner as well? Does anyone know the time for the walk ups for dinner? Or any experiences with it?

So glad I came across this post...had no idea about the change and was wondering how all The Plaza ADRs were taken (except an 11 am) when have always been able to secure one in the past.

Yes, I am with you as well. We have always eaten at The Plaza for dinner. I don't know quite how to secure a table for dinner--hoping that someone knows.

I'm so glad I came across this thread I have been trying to get a dinner res for the Plaza for a month it's always our first night dinner.
