Still Learning...

I'm still learning how this all works. We will be travelling either late August or Christmas week with 8 people. We would really like to stay in a 2 or 3 bedroom villa to cut down the cost of having 3 rooms (we're all adults and Grandma likes her own bed ) If we would like to stay at the BC Villas, the BW Villas, OKW Villas, etc... do we have to be DVC members or use DVC rented points to do so? Are there some set aside for the general public?

If you go onto the regular WDW web site, go to reservations, and within that area specify that you want a "home away from home," you'll be offered the opportunity to rent various size DVC villas if any are available in general inventory for the time period that interests you. Be aware, however, that they're in short supply and they're expensive.

You could also check threads and FAQs on this DIS website, and rent points from a DVC member. That member would then make the reservation for you on the DVC "inside track."

Your best bet would be OKW, the rooms are larger and there is usually more availability.
