Still confused about clothing for Tritons...

Disney people assure me that a jacket is not required for Triton's on a four day cruise. All of the literature says yes. What is the deal?

Can someone give me a percentage on the men wearing a jacket on the four day cruise at Tritons?

Although the jacket and/or suit would be suggested for Palo on the 4 day cruise, I do not believe the majority wore a jacket for Triton's. I did see many in a dress shirt and tie, however.

Jackets are only requested, not required. :) On my 4-night Wonder cruise in October (late seating) I'd say about 60% of the men wore jackets at Triton's.

Webmaster Michele - You said that you went on a 4 day cruise in October. Can you tell me if you found the ship/or parks very crowded. We are booked for the 20th of October for 4 day land/3 day sea.

Also, would a very nice silk shorts outfit be appropriate for dinner, or are shorts totally frowned upon.

The three-day cruises are getting more and more casual...even jeans at Triton's now. Suits were still the norm at Palo, although we saw plenty of business casual wear too. Disney recently removed the "no jeans, please" request from the cruise docs, but they still ask that no shorts be worn for dinner.

Last October the ship was very uncrowded, but that was only a month after 9/11. Even so, October is still a great time to sail if you like lower crowds. :)

Crowds at WDW in October are moderate, there are some events in October that draw crowds, but overall that is also a great time to visit the parks.

As for the shorts, they do request that no shorts be worn in the dining room for dinner.

Hope that helps! :)
