So yeah. As some of you know, I was recently screwed out of a new cell phone. Here's the story. **long post**
Two years ago my mom and her boyfriend went in to get new cell phones. Their contract was up, and they went in to get something new. Well I tagged along, and as luck would have it, the person in the store and my mom's boyfriend talk my mom into getting me a phone and adding me to their plan.
So I'm looking around at phones I like. I'm keeping in mind that my mom is on the very edge, and if I pick out something that's too expensive, she'll go back on the whole thing. I'm down to two phones. This one that was alright, but basically all you could do on it is games, texting, and making calls. No camera, no realy anything. The one next to it was a camera phone, and could do a bit more. The difference however, was that the one that could do less was $20, and the camera phone was $40. I opted to go with the one that couldn't do as much, so my mom wouldn't go back on her word. At the time, I didn't care that it was a piece of trash that could do next to nothing. I'm just like....sweet, I got a phone.
So fast forward to a few months after that. I realize the thing is garbage. Sure, it can make calls and text and all that, but it has next to no memory. I downloaded two games, three 20 second ringtones, and a wallpaper, and it filled the thing's memory. When I tried to download the game of life and got the message that my phone's memory was full I was like
That started me hating the thing and wanting a new one. Well the second year rolls around, and I'm REALLY wanting a new phone. Almost to the point of "accidentally"
breaking the thing to get a new one. I didn't though, but looking back on it, I probably should have.
But anywho, fast forward to about two to three months ago. I'm at this new school, looking at tons of awsome phones that all other kids had. Some I KNOW had to either steal theirs, or get an incredible deal because there is just no way some of these kids could afford what phone they have. But yeah, here I was, stuck with my garbage phone, that could do almost nothing. To say I was a bit jealous and sick of my phone is an understatement.
But ALAS! My mom tells me, we get new phones in April!
So we go to the phone store. My mom's boyfriend really, REALLY wants a razor, and when he looked at the site Cingular was offering the older models for free, with a two year plan. I didn't care really. I didn't want a razor, and I would settle for anything free, seeing as how I wasn't alloud to get anything. with a pricetag. Well I settle on this awsome Samsung phone. It had a camera, bluetooth, just a ton of stuff. I'm thinking...
I get a new phone, and this one rules! But anywho, we're this close...I mean THIS CLOSE to checking out, and walking out the store with new phones, and I'm all giddy and stuff. Well my mom's dipstick boyfriend, who's hellbent on getting a razor, didn't check online before we left, becuase, you know, nobody EVER takes anything off the market.
So they tell him they're no longer offering that version of the razor anymore, and the cheapest version he can get is $40. Well we get home so he can double check because of course the store doesn't know their own prices, and sure enough, there it is, no free razors. It was funny too. At the store, he was arguing with the person that he checked on his account and they had free razors. The person asked how long ago it was that he checked. "A few weeks ago." Yeah right the dope checked like a few months ago.
So anyways, we're at home, and my mom asks him what he wants to do. He goes, "well I don't want to upgrade just for the sake of upgrading, so lets just wait until the newer razors become the older razors, and Cingular offers them free."
...
When I hear this I'm
and all sorts of
, because "I'm my mom's boyfriend and I don't care that others actually need a new phone and arn't okay with waiting like a year until Cingular offers more razors for free."
But anywho, I talk with my mom, let her know how angry I was, and she promised me that I'd get a new phone before I leave, because she agrees with me. I NEED a new phone.
So fast forward to today. I'm sitting in my first hour when I get this idea.
Well, when I was there, I saw this phone I really liked. Problem was, it was $99. Well, my mom owes me like $450 anyway, so maybe I can cut a deal.
So I call her up...
Ask her if it's alright, if I can get a phone that isn't free if it comes out of the money she owes me, seeing as how it'd be like I was paying for it anyway. She goes, "sure I don't see why that would be a problem."
woohoo: <<me so far)
I ask her if it's alright if we can just go to the store to get it, rather than order online and wait like three weeks. She says fine.
woohoo: <<me again)
I ask her if I can get it before school lets out. She says sure.
So this is what I'm getting, the phone I saw at the store that I fell in love with...
In that color. OMG did I love this phone. From it being a blackberry, to it's little trackball thingy, to it's $99 price tag.
Oh the things I could do with that phone. It could be my planner for school. It could be my calendar. It could be my mp3 player. It could be my digital camera. It could just do a crap load of things, along with being my new phone.
So yeah, go me, and go mom.
And boooooooooooooooooo my moms boyfriend!
