Stick with May or try November?

The last two times my wife and I have gone to WDW we have gone in May. While we won't be back until 2015, I thought we had decided to just stick with May. Until my wife got a new co-worker, over lunch they got to talking, long story short, showing pictures of the park with the Christmas decorations/MVMCP/Osborne Lights. That now might be in the picture.

Pros/cons on going in November? I *believe* that there is a marathon near the start of the month. Other than avoiding that time, anything else?

Thanks!

We've gone twice in November and it was delightful. Low crowds, the weather was beautiful. I haven't been in May, but isn't that when the lovebugs are around?

I usually run the Wine & Dine half marathon the weekend of November 9 and I agree I would avoid that weekend just because the crowds levels are increased, however that is the last weekend to enjoy the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival and the Festival of the Masters in Downtown Disney.

Personally, I like Oct-Nov-Dec best. November is a transition month between fall activities (Food & Wine, fall decor, and Halloween parties) and holiday activities and decorations.

Early Nov will see the end of F&W (it usually ends on Veteran's Day weekend along with the half marathon) and the last Halloween party on Nov 1 or so. Fall decorations come down from the MK immediately afterwards and the park is fully decorated, except for the big tree in Town Square, about a week later in time for the first Christmas party. Osborne Lights starts about the same time. In Epcot the Candlelight Processional, the IllumiNations Holiday ending and Santas around the World won't begin until the day after Thanksgiving.

The resorts will be gradually decorated throughout November. There's no set schedule, but one resort at a time will be transformed overnight. The gingerbread house at the GF will take a couple of weeks. By Thanksgiving there will be decorations in the lobby of all of the resorts.

The weather in November isn't as humid as May so that's also a big plus for us. Except for Thanksgiving week end the crowds aren't bad either.

We are going on a Nov. trip this year. We are really looking forward to the Christmas decorations. I have been once in Sept. but mostly in May and June, so this will be our first Nov. trip.:cool1:
