I hate that it is over 1000 pages long and I CAN'T PUT THE DARN THING DOWN!!

I never knew this book was such a page turner. I stopped running out for SK novels years ago, when he "retired" but kept putting out books.

I want to fast forward, to see what fate lies ahead for some of the unsavory characters of the book. I want to go into the book and kill them myself. It is one of those books I have to keep reading to see how it ends, but I know I am going to be depressed when I am done with it, because, well.....I'm done with it.

Ok, I took a break from the book to check my email and pop in over here, but it's calling me. I am on page 859..so I am getting close. I might be done with it by midnight.

Wow...I had never heard he had "retired". He is one of my favorite authors. I will say I have a few of his books, that I have yet to read.

I did read Under the Dome...and thought that was one of the best books he has written in YEARS! I also had a hard time putting it down!

I did the same thing, only I was reading it on my Kindle and kept looking at the percentage DONE.

It has an ending, I can tell you that for sure. I just wanted to get to it as I loved some characters and loathed others!

This book has my blood pressure rising, I can tell you that! When they came for the "hero".....my heart was actually racing!!!

I have never loathed characters in a book as I do these villains. I keep thinking nevermind a movie, this would make one HELL of a tv series! Boss Hog magnified by about 1000 times.

It reminds me of the show American Gothic. I think it would make a fine series, and it has enough that would make it very suspenseful each week.

And this is one I have to wait for to be in paperback!! Torture!!!

WHAAAT!?!?!? OMG... and they close in half an hour. *sigh* Guess I'll have to wait 'til tomorrow. I thought it had just come out in hardback, and was all ready to wait "patiently" for the softcover! Yay, I'll have something to read while camping this weekend!! (thanks for the tip!)

Your title had me saying "how could you hate it?!" :lmao:

I couldn't put it down either. I thought I wanted it for Christmas, but was skeptical about having anyone spend the $$ on it since his books, for me, have been hit or miss the past few years. I couldn't get into his previous one "Lisey's Story" at all. :( So, I got it from the library and read a few chapters to see how I would like it. Then I officially put it on my Christmas wish list! :thumbsup2

It was a really great book, and even though it was over 1,000 pages I hated to see it come to an end. I thought it might be difficult to keep so many characters straight, but it wasn't.

I, too, think it would be an awesome movie or mini-series.

Some have said the ending was a let-down for them, but I didn't feel that way. You'll have to come back and let us know what you thought.

I just started reading this book today on my kindle. It's going to be a long night!

I hope you don't have any plans to fish or kayak or hike or anything! I promise you, once you start reading you will just want to keep on turning those pages!

I loved, loved, loved it too!!! Could NOT put it down. It is truly his best in years. Rivals The Stand for me, except for no Stu and Fran romance :lovestruc

The previous book to "Under the Dome" was "Duma Key." I absolutely loved "Duma Key" and think it is one of his best books. I liked "Under the Dome" but not nearly as much as "Duma Key."

Overall I enjoyed it...but I didn't care for the ending too much. :rolleyes1

I'm with you. I loved Duma Key. The Dome was just ok.

I really liked it... until i got to the end. I hated the ending... seemed like it was just slapped on there...

However, the thing about SK is that he is so good with character development.. you feel like you actually know he characters.
