OK - so I have a question - in your second picture from your room of the monorail - what is all that white stuff on the grass? I know it was December and it was cold - we had so much snow up here I am still looking at it.

It might be cloth, they covered over some of the plants to protect them.

claire is right-i think it was cloth or some type of spray to save the plants. it was so cold that week (25 degrees at night) so they have to cover the plants to save them from the frost.

thanks sam! we flew out of JFK. it is so close to our house and jetblue has that new terminal. the tv on the way home was fine though. i like jetblue the best since i HATE to fly and the tvs help.

I am from Flushing Queens, worked in NYC for about 20 years (midtown 6th Ave and 48 St). I am now living in NJ (not bad but definately not like the city) and working in NJ - I live in South Brunswick and work in Princeton.

We still have snow here also - especially in the parking lots where they plowed all the snow together - I feel like it will never melt.

Now - back to your report.

Thanks Sara! It was absolutely amazing. I am trying to get up to speed with my TR but so hard to do at work. lol This weekend at least i will try to get through day 2 and 3. Yeah losing grandpa was hard but he held on for my wedding. he was one of the strongest most wonderful men i know and my personal hero on top of a WWII hero who stormed the beach at normandy and has 13 medals including distinguished service cross bronze star and purple heart. i am so proud of him.

Unfortunately a wedding in WDW is pretty much out the question - it'd be too much to ask all our family to pay for flights, hotel etc - all the way from England !
So we're planning to get married in England (looking at old manor houses in the countryside, with lots of history and romance!)... and my theme will have lots of subtle Disney touches (hidden mickeys, disney table names etc)

Then honeymoon plans are.. 5 night Disney cruise to the Bahamas, then a week at the Grand Floridian! (I dreamt this up when I was about 14 years old lol .. luckily I found a man who's learning to love WDW too!)
DBF's parents have very kindly offered to pay for our honeymoon! I'll have to talk over the budget with them soon!

Did you guys do the Honeymoon Registry?
This looks perfect to me.. DBF & I already have our own home together so we really don't need the 'usual' wedding gift list!

Day 2-December 31, 2009-NYE!!!!

We wake up at 8 am. Tom goes out to get coffee from the set up in concierge. It really is wonderful to have that available. He grabbed some croissants and muffins also even though we had breakfast at ohana's at 9:30-YAY!! I was looking so forward to it. I could not wait to have my juice and eggs which i love. We get dressed and ready and head out the door. We get to ohana's and of course our whole party is not there. My MIL and SIL are there but the friends are not. So it turns out being that it was NYE, getting into MK is miles long backup and it is affecting the rest of the roads. Our friends were at the CS and were driving over with the baby. Eventually they make it-an hour late- although my MOH and her hubby would not wake up! lol the night before killed them those light weights!!! Anyway, I really think the ears help though because they held our table and sat us right away. We sit and they come right over with my juice. It was so yummy!!! So the characters came and were very cute. At the end they brought us cupcakes for our wedding and a card signed by all the characters. It was very cute. Here are some pictures:

So we leave Ohana's and go back to the hotel to meet up with some other guests who were checking in! We figure that we would just hang at the hotel until everyone arrived and then head over to Hollywood Studios for NYE. We had dinner ressies at 8 at 50's primetime cafe but I need my tower of terror fix! Finally everyone arrives and off we go to HS. My MOH and her husband met us there since they were staying at the CS (well at that time-they changed to the contemporary New years day for the rest of the stay since they hated the buses also). So we killed sometime and waited for TOT!!! The line was not that bad and since DF HATES it and goes on to make me happy, I made sure we did it before dinner. After that, it was time for the ressie. There was some family drama going on but all in all it was nice. I really love their fried chicken, that is why we go everytime! lol

I have not gotten all the pics from this night yet-who knows when I will-haha. After dinner we went to Osbourne Family of lights. Tom bet whoever found the christmas tree leg lamp would get an ice cream and his friend found it:

At this point it is close to midnight and we want to secure our usual location at HS for the New Years fireworks. Becky's hubby bought 2 bottles of champagne for all of us and we sat back to watch the fireworks(sorry noone really took a lot of pics during this ). 5-4-3-2-1-HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! Once the fireworks ended, the older folks left for the hotel. The younger ones continued on being that HS is open until 3. By then the park cleared out and we had free REIGN!! TOT again, Rock and roller coaster, star tours. It was a blast, we closed the parks. All I have to say is that as you know my sister did not come, well tom's friend wife is due 2 weeks BEFORE my sister and she walked for 4 days around the parks, no complaints, until 3 am. I really believe my sister makes things worse then they are. sorry just had to vent and point that out.

Day 3 up next-New Years brunch at Chef Mickeys, MOH Moves to the Contemporary, what the hell are we back in NY-it is so damn cold, more guests arrive and epcot fun!!!

yay! Looks like you guys had a great day!! What is the Juice your so into? We are having BF as Ohana's and i'm very excited! I love that you spent NYE in HS that would probably have been my choice too its my fave Vent away my dear...I may be doing the same in 4 months can't wait to read more!!!
