I have two picky kiddos and WE (the adults lol) really want to eat here....suggestions for "other" things to order????

Can I get a hotdog? Pizza? Chicken nuggets?

My kid is extraordinarily, annoyingly, picky. Like “noodles with butter, no cheese or parsley or anything resembling flavor 🙄🙄” picky. We’ve yet to eat here but have a reservation at the end of Jan. My plan is to order him a kids meal, whichever he thinks he might take a bite of (he wont) or whatever sounds appealing to dh or I at the time. And whatever sides he will eat (likely grapes and apples). If he’s really hungry I might ask if he can get the Mac n cheese as his main course, if that’s not possible I’ll get it as my side so he can eat some of it. Having a picky kids requires a LOT of accommodations……on the part of the parent.

Just an fyi that the mac n cheese on the adult menu has jalapeno and bacon in it. Guessing the jalapeno might be a deal breaker for the kiddo so wanted to warn you now!

yep he’s screwed but it sounds even better to me 😁 so thanks for the fyi!

(Before anyone thinks I’m a horrible mother he’s 11, he’s been to multiple doctors and specialists, they can’t get him to expand his eating and say he’s small but fine. So for a weeks vacation I give up. I’ll order protein shakes for grocery delivery and every restaurant we eat at will have something he’ll tolerate….even if it’s just fruit. He also has a list of our ADRs so he can read the menus in advance. He’ll survive a week)

Off topic and apologies if I'm overstepping, but have you heard of Selective Eating Disorder? My husband suffers from it and has since he was a kid. It usually requires help from an eating disorder specialist. Most kids grow out of it, but my DH didn't. I had to read through every single menu at WDW in order to plan our ADRs so I could ensure he would enjoy his dinners too. Add to that the fact that I don't eat meat and have several allergies...picking our dining locations was quite the challenge!

Anyway, I'm doing the same thing. We're ordering protein shakes to be delivered to the room too. If he isn't interested in anything on the menu at sit down restaurants, he'll get dessert and grab quick service later. We both know and appreciate each other's food limitations so we'll just do the best we can. Good luck on your trip!

no, but I’ll check it out. We did take him to a feeding specialist when he was 4 or 5. After an entire summer of weekly visits (each with a hefty copay and hour drive) she got him to eat….jello🙄. Every visit I ask the pediatrician if we should be concerned and they always so no. He’s growing just at his own pace (he’s almost up to 60lbs at 11.5yr). We just keep presenting him with options and occasionally he surprises us like when he tried (and liked!) octopus on our last wdw trip. At home he does get to eat what he likes but on vacation, nope, he can suck it up for one week a year.

We ate there on 12/17 with 2 very picky kids (age 9 and 7). One had chicken tenders and French fries and the other had a grilled cheese. Initially was told they didn’t have bread for a grilled cheese, but told them they could use a hamburger bun instead. The fries come with some green seasonings on them so both kids passed on those. Maybe you can order them plain/no seasoning.

We ate there the first week of November and the mac and cheese didn't have jalapeno and bacon in it - it was just cheese and noodles with some bread crumbs on the top.

The mac and cheese with the jalapeno and bacon on it is served at our bar!

Disney Food Blog reported on 12/26 that they were now serving it, previously it was just at the lounge.

I had the kids steak meal to go earlier this month. It was one of the best meals of the week! I had the steak plain, with regular (not garlic!) mashed potatoes and broccoli.
