We don't really have truly fine dining around here, and I'm thinking of trying Steakhouse 55 our next trip...

So I'm looking at their menu and they list entrees and sides separately. I'm assuming that means when I order a steak, I just get a steak? Should I plan on one entree and one side for each of us, or are the sides a shareable size?

It's separate, and we usually order a couple of sides (or 3) and share them. There is plenty. I highly recommend the brussel sprouts, and the mac n cheese, and potatoes au gratin are also good choices.

The sides are shareable and yes when sides are listed like that it means if you don't order anything extra you will get just meat on a plate :/

A lot of steak houses are like this - some people love it and some people hate it. I agree with Mary Jo - ordering a few sides to share is always a good idea as often the sides are larger in size than what you'd expect if your meal were to come with them included.
