I know, it always seems like there are transportation questions.
Actually, I think I have a few questions

I have looked and I did find what I *think* is the answer but it was from 2 years ago, so I don't trust it's still accurate.

I get that there are the internal busses and then you have to make your way from there to the parks either via bus or boat? Where does the boat drop you off at for Magic Kingdom? The actual entrance or is it TTC?

It looks like MK is open until 2 AM for EMH when we are there one night, if we decide to close the park down are we going to be stranded once we get to Ft. Wilderness or will an internal bus get us to our loop? And what is the best way to do that at that time of night? Do the boats even run or is it a bus to a bus? We are not renting a golf cart and I certainly don't want to be walking around in the very dark wilderness (at least everything I have read says it's very dark there and to bring a flashlight).

On the flip side, I do have an early morning before park opens ADR for Animal Kingdom, will the internal busses get me to the external bus in time for that?

This trip is an extended family so there are 15 of us and we are spread out between SOG, Ft. Wilderness and off-site. Therefore, we thought having a cook-out at the cabins would be a fun, inexpensive way to just hang out one evening but I was wondering if there is anywhere my off-site brother can park?

Oh, you're going to LOVE the cabins! Watch out - you'll be hooked!:lovestruc

I can't speak for the early mornings and evenings - but I can answer a couple of questions.

The FW launch will drop you right at the front gate at MK. It's awesome. I was wondering how convenient it would be... how long it would take... all those things running through my mind before we went. We took an internal bus to the boat launch, took a boat to MK and from our cabin door to the front gate at MK it was 25 minutes. Granted, we only had to wait a couple of minutes for a bus and about 5 min for a boat - but it REALLY is VERY convenient and quick!

A cookout at your cabin would be fun - what a nice idea! Your brother can probably just park in the lot at the entrance to FW. I'm not sure how the front entrance is configured - you might need to list him as a guest for him to be able to get in the gates.

You will not be left any where when the parks close after extra magic hours, The boats and the buses run until everyone is out of the park about one hour after the parks close. They will also make sure that no one gets left at the boat dock or the bus stops. The buses in the Fort run until 2:00am or one hour after all parks and Downtown Disney close.

We have stayed in cabins every year for the last 10 years and have never needed a flash light and we are senior citizens. All the paths are well lighted and the cabins all have outside lights that come on at dusk and off at dawn. The lights are not like bright spot lights but are very subdued.

The early ADRs have buses but check at the Desk at the Outpost the day before and let them know. There is a boat that goes to the Contemporary that starts running at 6:45am, from there you can take the monorail to the Poly or the Grand Floridian or Magic Kingdom. You also walk from the Contemporary to Magic Kingdom (very short walk).

Have a great trip the transportation at WDW is wonderful we know and love:love: it because we have never had a car or rented a golf cart.

Thanks everyone...I'm sure once I'm there and see it in action it will make more sense.

There is parking down by the front gate. We had visitors the last two times we were there. At the front gate informed security they were visiting us.
