We are a family of 6, 2 adults kids 14, 11, 8 & 6. We've been to WDW many times but this is our first stay at SSR. We will stay in a 2 bedroom villa. Not knowing this area very well, can anyone make a suggestion as to which section to stay. Seems like the main pool/waterslide seems like the best but I'm only getting that from pictures and google. Hopefully it will be warm enough to swim.

Also a bit concern about refurb. I've stayed in villas that need a refurb and it kind of bums me out. I've heard that congress park has been completed. Are there any benefits to staying there? Is it fairly close to the main pool? Is there a boat doct to DTD nearby?

Are there any other sections that will be refurbed by early november?

Looking for any advice you can give. SSR is all new to us so the more I know going in the better it will be.

Thanks,

Congress Park has a pool area. I understand that the refurb has been done. The big advantage to the Congress Park section to me is it's proximity to Downtown Disney. It's an easy stroll over for shopping or dining. :santa:

Me personally, i like the paddock and springs. Paddock has nice pool area n food near pool. Springs for the feature pool and various eating spots. Only drawback is last p.u.for bus.

All are nice but avoid the Carousel if you like to walk to DD. Too far.

Only stayed there once, and we stayed at the Grandstand. Nice quite little pool, and first stop to be picked up by the bus. For us, hitting the parks early is big and we don't like to get on a crowded bus, so this was perfect. It was not a far walk to the main pool, or to the boat to DTD, but the best pool there was the paddock. We were there for the grand reopening after it was refurbished with the new slide. Great pool, but we took a bus to get there. Coming back to the grandstand by bus we had to get off at the springs and walk back. Not the most convienent if you hit that pool a lot, but we only did it one day, my kids were still too small for the slide, although the kiddie area was great for them. I'm very claustrophobic so getting on the bus first was more a priority for us.

Those are the main reasons why we always stay at Congress Park. The pool is always empty and its only about 10-15 mins walk to DTD and same to catch a boat. The only thing is that there are no slides of flukes at the Congress Park pool.

We are considering Paddock area, but would like to be in one of the buildings near the bridge. What should I request to try and get this? Does "Paddock, near the bridge" work?

Congress Park is a great location. It's super close to DTD which is nice, the views are great too. It's a short walk over the bridge to Carriage House & High Rock Springs. It's also a short walk down the pathway to the Paddock Pool. We had a nice refurbed room there in June. The Congress Park pool has a great view of DTD and balloon and is never crowded if you want some quiet time! There is also a playground for younger kids next to the pool.

I am wondering how to request the Paddock, near the bridge, pool, and bus stop
