You are not alone!!! I like to start planning the next trip as soon as I get back!! Of course we had a new addition to our family during what would have been our last vacation so I am really going through withdrawal!! I, too, have found that packages are not the way to go with our family. For some they may be a good value, but not for us. We usually book a room only reservation & purchase park hoppers for the number of days we will be there. Also, if you don't utilize water parks, disney quest or pleasure island, you won't need park hopper plus passes. The last time we went, there was a very big Annual Passholder discount for rooms, so it was worth it to buy AP's (only 1 person needs an AP to get an AP rate). Also, you don't have to have the AP in hand to make the reservation, so you can wait to see what your best option is. As far as which resorts to stay, it depends on what you like. We don't spend a huge amount of time in the room. We spend most of our time at the parks. When we are at the hotel, we are sleeping or swimming. We always get a rental car because we don't like waiting for buses, so the location of the resort isn't as big of a deal to us. I guess it just depends on what is most important to you & your family. Anyway, a good part of the fun is in the planning, so.........

 Happy Planning!

You are preaching to the choir. I felt pathetic for being so depressed when I last returned from WDW. No one understands but US! We know how excited you had been about the trip months in advance. And then when the trip turned out to be just about everything you had imagined.....and then it's over....and you have got to go back to your stressful job.....and you don't have WDW to look forward to...it can be incredibly depressing. It seems to me that the more you let the "magic" take you away, the harder it is to face real life. Don't get me wrong, real life can be quite good too but there is definitely an adjustment period. Just start planning your next trip. I started planning the one on my countdown when I got back in February. And look! I just entered the single digit dance to the double digit dance! I am re-entering the exciting "my trip is less than 4 months away" period and I will soon be entering the DOUBLE DIGIT DANCE! Hang in there!

I suggest that you click right on over to the Budget Board for tons of ideas for saving money with every aspect of your WDW trip. So much depends on what time of year you want to go and where you want to stay.

We loved the Polynesian (got the upgrade deal last year because we were booked at Carribbean Beach before rehab announcement), but we also love the moderates. We have done POFQ several times and are trying CBR this time.

We have not done All-Stars, but many folks like them just fine and they can be real money savers.

I totally understand the depressed feeling. We found a way to beat it--we start planning the next WDW trip while driving home from Florida! I'm even worse this year--we don't go until November and I am already starting on a WDW/Disney Cruise trip for 2004!

Good luck and have fun with your planning!

I can feel your pain. I am within 60 days of my trip which I have been planning out for over 140 days. In one sense I feel that this trip can't come soon enough. In another sense I dread going as I know that I will have a great time but it will pass all to soon and I truly don't know when I am going back. I keep thinking that I will at least try for a long weekend in either Nov. or Dec. 204 but that seems ions away.

As for reasonable priced hotel, if the packages don't work for you then try offsite or maybe the values onsite (Pop Century is getting ready to open). There are many choices offsite esp. if you have a rental car. You can rent a condo/house for the same $$ that you would spend staying in a moderate onsite. There is always DTD hotels and priceline (check out site called biddingfortravel). I just won the Wyndham at DTD on pline for $75 per night. Now I know there are people (and plenty of them) that would never stay off property; however, I would rather stay at the Wyndham than the All Stars (this is just my humble opinion) especially for the price I won on priceline. Read these post and research your possibilities then happy planning.

Don't feel alone. I'm a 48 year old man whose fondest memories from childhood was watching Walt Disney (the real guy, not some name) on Sunday nights. I LOVE DisneyWorld. We came back from our second trip this past November, and it was even better than our first trip--which I never could have imagined happening. And I was depressed.

Finally, I decided to buck-up, and put the past behind me. I did it by planning the next trip! As you can by my signature, it's quite far away, yet. But the ressies are made. I decided as soon as the AAA discounts were released for 2004 I'd start officially making plans. Now that the ressies are made, I can happily stop by the message boards where I do a lot of reading, and make a few posts. I've found no matter how far in the future your next trip is, as long as you have firm plans these boards are fun again.

So, my advice is grab one of those AAA discounts, now. You'll have Disney to look forward to again, you'll find it fun to come on these boards, and you'll have saved a few dollars because you'll have the only discount currently available for 2004.

Just noticed your countdown timer. Congrats!
