Staying on points at DxL, do I still get DVC discounts...

We will be staying at DxL on points and I was wondering if we will still get the DVC memeber discount on such things as renting patoon boats, bikes etc.? Will we be treated any different than a "cash" paying customer? This will be our first DVC vacation (had to use banked points from resale) and although it was not my first choice, I needed these particular days...Will I still be greeted with a "Welcome Home"? If not I'll have to wait to my first real DVC vacation in July. Thanks...

Not sure about the "Welcome Home", but your resort card will say *Member* on it if you are staying on points, so all should be the same as if you were at OKW or BWV. Also, for discounts other than the LOS pass that you buy at check-in, we have been able to get them without showing a resort ID with *Member* on it. We have gotten the boat rental and restaraunt discounts just by showing our membership card when we just go to the world for the day. This may or may not be according to "policy" but it seems to work fine. Have a GREAT time!!

Okay, somebody help me out here...what is "DxL"? I didn't see that listed on the abbreviations page. The abbrv page says DL is Dixie Landings. Could that be it? I'm confused. <IMG SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif" alt="confused">

(and, while I'm at it, I see 'DD' referred to here, in the context of 'I took 'DD'...." That doesn't make sense, because the abbrv. page says DD=Downtown Disney. And, what does DH mean? That's not on the abbrv page.) Very confused. I know, completely off topic...

DXL, DL both Dixie Landings.

DH, Disney husband, darling husband

DW, dreaded wife

DD, Dopey Daughter

DS, dear son

DD when used refering to a destination, is Downtown DIsney.

There is some flexibility with the DF(Disney family members) intepurtation.

"From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs", Karl Marx, pretty sick, huh?

I could be wrong but when you stay at WDW hotel not DVC the resort card does not say member and you get no discount. the thing you place in your car (at least the last time) say the name of the hotel at the bottom it say DVC member.

At the annual members meeting in Dec, they announced that your keys would say "Member" even if you were staying at a not DVC resort.

Thanks TimB, I think you clarified it. I'll just have to wait until next month to see if it does say *Member* on my key.

I was referring to Dixie Landings (DxL) in my post for those inquiring!
