staying offsite

i am thinking of buying into DVC and just wondered if anyone has stayed off site at another resort not owned by Disney. Was it hard to get reservations and how far in advance did you have to make reservations?

I don't think I understand your question. Are you asking once you buy into DVC can you trade it to another resort? Or are you just asking for a comparison of other non-Disney timeshares in the Orlando area?

I personally have never stayed off Disney property for a Disney vacation. Not before I bought the DVC, and certainly not after.
