Will we regret not staying onsite?

Have Sept 15-29th booked at Bonnet Creek. Our plan is to do the disney parks and waterparks, and we are buying 4 day tickets to Universal.

Will we regret not staying onsite and not getting the express pass? Should we just avoid weekends at Universal?

We looked into the onsite rooms but they were sooo expensive! We needed 2 rooms with the size of our family. Our kids are 19, 17, 8, 6 and 17 month old twins.

Thanks for any help!

I don't think it should be a problem. It'll be off-season,so it shouldn't be as crowded then.We were there June 2-12,and most waits were 15-20 minutes,so,more than likely, you should'nt have long wait times.:goodvibes We stayed off-site too;I refuse to pay US/IOA prices to just have somewhere to sleep, shower, and watch a little tv(don't think you'llneed the"Express Plus either).Disney has been having "Free Dining" for the past 5 or 6 years during this timeframe-I dont think they offered it because they just wanted to be nice to us!;)

You should be fine w/o staying onsite and w/o EPs since the crowds really slow down after Labor Day. Keep in mind Halloween Horror Nights will start the last weekend of September which will close the Studios an hour early for set up. Other than that...it's a great time to visit but still hot!

We will be at Bonnet Creek too and mainly doing Universal....You cant pass up the price for Bonnet Creek...we are gonna do the Halloween party one night but that will be it for Disney....We will be there Sept 13th thru 18th....See you there...

Have you been to Bonnet Creek before...If not you will love it...this is out 5th or 6th stay at Bonnet Creek...We dont even look anywhere else....

Also as far as crowds we have been to Universal many times in Nov and early Dec and crowds are not bad...One year I counted 40 people in Universal between Twister and MIB around noon mid week...Sept will be hot but shouldnt be bad as far as crowds go

:woohoo: perhaps we will be neighbors! :thumbsup2 Look for the exhausted looking mom pushing twin girls in a stroller, the 6'6" dad chasing 6 & 8 year old boys, and the two teenagers behind all of us rolling their eyes--that will be us!

Thanks everyone for reassuring me that we will be okay without the pass!

Are they starting the horror nights that week!?! Dh and the teens went to the one in Cali two years ago, but I didn't go with them (stayed behind to watch the little ones) It would be so cool to go this time!

I'm off to Google it! :thumbsup2

HHN will probably start on 9/23 which is a Friday but its only Friday and Saturday nights the first weekend. We'll know for sure when the dates are announced.

shaylan, you have picked an ideal time to go to the darkside.
i love the weather in late september.
low crowds too..

you'll love that time period.

kewl that some of your kids will be able to pick up opening night for hhn.
that is if the pattern holds true from the past.
6 weeks is usually the pattern so your last weekend there could be the start of it.

hope hhn does begin on those dates so your kids can enjoy it.
