Hello All

I am helping my husbands cousin plan a trip from Australia to the states. They are members of interval international and want to stay in Orlando for two weeks this October. They are looking at staying at the Marriott Cypress Harbour which is a couple of miles from DW really close to Seaworld. I can not convince them that renting a car is the best way to go. So I am wondering what are the options for them in terms of transportation. There will be some days where he wants to golf while the family goes to the parks, they want to go to Kennedy Space Center, airboat tour, and shopping. Can someone please inform me what their options would be for transport. THanks

The only options other than renting a car....

would be Lynx (Public transit---bus) and taxi.
I don't see anything on the hotel website about free transport anywhere. So it looks like they would have to pay for it out of pocket.

one way price from the airport to their hotel will be approx. $34.00 USD (one way)

They really do need to rent a car. For airboat tours and Kennedy space center it will cost a lot to take a taxi but that is going to be their only other option.

We just stayed nearby in March at Marriott's Grande Vista. They definitely NEED a rental car! I can't imagine not having one. We split up a couple of times, and one morning I took a taxi with the kids to Epcot (and my DH met up with us later and drove us back). Taxi ride was $45. Yup. Now, it was vacation so I was prepared to spend extra money. But it would add up fast! One night we also got dropped off at the MK by DH, then took a taxi back late (we were spending the day with my best friend and her kids). Another $40 cab ride.

Plus, you can go to the grocery store for items for the room. There's a Publix right nearby. We did carry-out for dinner a couple of times as well (one was awful Japanese food, I forget the name, sorry). Our first night we had early dinner at an Outback restaurant near there - it was wonderful! And honestly so super cheap compared to a simple steak dinner on Disney property. If they come across an Outback restaurant nearby, I definitely recommend it (and I was never a fan of that chain!).

Sorry to ramble, but they really need to consider a car. I hope they change their minds on this one.

They have three options: rental car, rental car, or rental car.

(I suppose you could go with a taxi, but from up at Cypress Harbour, it will probably be cheaper to have a car.)
